We came to say for our anniversary. We stayed on a holiday weekend and you couldn't tell that they were sold out or very busy. Such a large property that you're pretty spread out you stayed at camp Long Creek in the tiny cabins. When we first got into the cabin, there were wasps so thankfully, My Husband was able to get them out. There was someone parked in our spot. We had to park farther down and they stated the whole time which was unfortunate. Then we had someone in the cabin next to us that according to them had a very aggressive dog that was on a lead and the dog would charge at us with our toddler constantly. I'm not sure why that was allowed. You're in a common area so we were not able to use the fire pit or any of those amenities with the dog out. They left chocolate in our room to make s'mores but once we opened it, it looked very old so we did not touch it and just threw it away There is a lot to do on the properties such as fun mountain, camp Long Creek, the marina, cruise diner tour, a couple restaurants although we only had three options during this weekend because they were over full they said which was unfortunate. We probably wouldn't have booked if we had known this in the beginning because we're excited about the places to try Even realize we didn't talk to security about the dog issue a few times and nothing was ever offered to us to move to a safer cabin or move them to a secluded cabin, which is unfortunate Hopefully, they improve this process and make it more family, friendly in regards to the wasp, people bringing dogs and ensuring all amenities are available

This is such an amazing place to stay. I really can't recommend it enough. We were doing a US coast to coast road trip and this was our favorite stay of the trip. Easy to find and close to town but still away from everything. Once you pass the gates the drive in is beautiful. The check in area is also really pretty and check in was fast and easy. Our room was very nice. The room was nice size, comfortable, and had everything you could want. The on property activities are fantastic!!

This is a wonderful nature retreat and is well maintained. The environment is aesthetically pleasing and there is something for everyone to do here including families. There are plenty of food options available. A note of complaint: I was not able to check in upon arrival although it was after 4pm. No apologies. Just sit & wait until I get a text stating I can now check in. Perhaps just clean the rooms of those who check out instead of every room every day might help. I know it would help aid conservation efforts. No need to wash everyone's towels on a daily basis. Also it seems the shuttle service has some "glitches". If one gets a confirmation of shuttle service pickup it is expected that there would be a shuttle at the confirmed time and location. Not always the case. These are minor complaints to the overall picture of a lovely getaway and time well spent. The museum at Top of the Rock is world-class.

Pros: we stayed at Camp Long Creek glamping tent. I loved it! Everything was so cute and so well thought out. There were automatic lights that would come on at night if I needed to go to the bathroom. There is a fence built around the tent for safety and security. The tent felt really sturdy. It definitely can withstand rainy weather. The view was amazing. The customer service was good. Very consistent communication. The grounds were well-maintained. And Cons: that being said, I don't think I would do it again. It was a tent. There was a spider on our pillow. The tent had to be sprayed for wasps. I heard weird noises all night long. The tent is built on top of a treehouse platform. Very creaky. One and done.

    The very small bathroom

The grounds and resort look beautiful especially when all lit up with Christmas lights. We stayed in a Spring View Lodge two bedroom. The location was excellent, next to Devils Pool and Buzzard Restaurants. We could easily walk to the Registration building and Truman snack coffee shop. Make sure you prepare yourself to spend a lot of extra money on food and fun activity extras. The rooms were very very tired and in need of a desperate update. We had several bugs in our room and the carpet is so dirty I didn't walk without shoes on. The bathroom is so small you can barely turn around in it. We paid almost $600 a night and this is not a $600 worth room. We did enjoy the resort but probably won't be back till they do some refurbishing of the rooms.

Husband and I come every year to celebrate our Anniversary for over a decade. This year is our 20 Yr. Anniversary. We look forward to our getaway every year. Unfortunately, I do not think we will be back. Our cabin had ants in it , we called the front desk and they said somebody will be over to spray so instead of relaxing we had to leave for 4 hours. When we returned nobody had been by. Called the front desk again, they said they would send someone over. Not 1 person apologized. Two hours later , they brought bait traps. The next morning we woke up we had ants in the bed , in the bathroom , everywhere. Called the front desk again, they said they would finally move us. Again , instead of relaxing we had to pack everything up and wait for another cabin to open up. We spent another 4 hours just waiting outside the resort. When they called us to let us know a cabin is ready we went in and there were 2 toe nails on the nightstand right by the phone. At this point I just wanted to go home. My husband called the front desk and FINALLY spoke to someone ( Abby) who wanted to make it right. We were able to get into our 3rd cabin for our 3 night stay and it was perfect. The cabin like we usually stay in , a cozy 1 bedroom cabin. Abby was generous enough to comp us a meal. When I went to go eat my meal there was mold in the cheese. My husband and I are usually not ones to complain , we know things happen. My husband and I both needed this trip desperately, I lost my Mom , My Brother and my Dad within months of each other. All we wanted to do is get away and take a breathe. Unfortunately that did not happen , we spent more time in our car then in one of the cabins.

Beautiful golf courses, food and staff at the courses were great!! Lodging and staff around the lodges could be more accommodating to groups having fun! Also the pools food and drinks close at 6pm, but pool open till 10pm... feel like that's a lot of money lost. I know it was with our group. 12 guys who can eat and drink! Overall great time and beautiful piece of property!

We stayed at Camp Long Creek for my birthday weekend in one of the glamping tents. Overall, I give our stay five stars. The tent was clean and well kept, I do wish there had been a slightly bigger table inside to set things on. The courtyard was lovely, however there was dead plants in the little planter by the door. Our tent did have a tear in the mesh door near the bottom of the zipper, which could have let in squirrels if we had left the main canvas door open. And the door to our courtyard was a little difficult to open. The food was very good, and we loved all the activities we did. Front desk staff and shuttle staff were all great. Waitstaff and other service staff (shops) could have used a bit of extra attention to customers. Will definitely return to visit in the future.

Big Cedar Lodge is one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. The theme of the resort is carried down to the smallest details including trash cans and parking blocks that look like logs. Every employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. The food was amazing everywhere we ate. The accommodations were beautiful and clean and comfortable. This place is absolutely perfect and we cannot wait to go back. Thank you for the perfect winter getaway

Has anyone had experience with the promotional pricing for a stay at Big Cedar Lodge sponsored by Bass Pro, where you get a really cheap rate for the condo but you must listen to a 2 hour sales pitch about buying a condo? Is it high pressure to buy?

The "waterfalls" have no natural river or water source connected to them, and in several places you can literally see exposed pipes feeding the water features. The cave and rock structures also appear heavily manufactured. In some areas, you can look underneath the rocks and plainly see man-made construction materials, including exposed particle board. I don't necessarily object to themed or artificial attractions when they're presented honestly. What bothered me was the misleading presentation. The tour tries to create the impression of a natural Ozarks landscape experience, but once you notice the construction details, it starts to feel more like a theme park set than a scenic nature tour. For the price charged, I expected authenticity and transparency. Instead, the experience felt staged and deceptive. I spoke with an employee about it afterwards, and he acknowledged it was fake and suggested I go elsewhere if I wanted to see real tock formations & waterfalls. I don't think I'll follow his advice, but I won't be coming back here.

You check in at the main building which had several nice features plus a great lobby with a computer, coffee selection and a fire pit/fireplace outside to enjoy.
