Beware of this place! I made reservations for 5 one-bedroom units and 2 two-bedroom units 16 months out. I called to move the reservations by 2 days and the said they would not guarantee the room rates and would have to charge me $700 for a change fee. I said that was ridiculous and wanted to cancel. They then said they would have to charge another $700 fee to cancel. I argued with them and they agreed to charge only $700. Still ridiculous given the reservation was so far out and they would not guarantee the room rates. read more

First time visiting Big Cedar Lodge. Wow. One word to describe it all? BEAUTIFUL. From the drive in, the resort grounds, the rooms, the views, all of it is stunning. We stayed 6 days, 5 nights in the Falls Lodge. It's beautifully decorated in rustic decor, we even had a Christmas tree in our room. All of it beautiful. Everyone was extremely helpful. House keeping done a fantastic each day. My only complaint would be an occasional slow WIFI but I've been told that's being addressed and hopefully updated soon. There's plenty to do on the resort. Fun Mountain is a kids paradise. Since we were there during the holidays, we were able to ice skate & do the Christmas Light tractor tour. This place is truly spectacular. It's extremely family friendly for visitors with kids but I could 100% make this a romantic trip with the wife. We'll back again soon, we had a great family vacation. read more

I've always wanted to stay here. Wanted to fish on Table Rock lake, and enjoy the Ozarks in a 1st class way. We stayed in the Jack cabin at Top of the Rock. Wow, just wow! You're isolated from everyone. And everything. If you want to be near the hustle & bustle of the resort, do t stay here. But if you want a cabin built in the 1800's and relocated here that gives you the sense of rustic living in the Ozarks, this is the place for you. It's not cheap. But if you can justify it, do it! Pros: Cabin is spacious, two king beds. One downstairs and one up. Main shower is to die for! Bath tub in main is adorable and huge Isolated from the crowds Private golf carts Views for days Rustic cabin feel with AC Guided fishing trip from Bent Hook marina. We caught about 20 fish. My son had an amazing time! Cons: You'll have some bugs. But you get that when you're in the woods! I was warm, wife was cold. But what's new Internet sucks. But, maybe it should so the kids are forced to enjoy nature? Golfers will see you! Be careful what you do and what you're wearing, peepers all around during the day haha! But seriously, every morning we found golfers looking to see if anyone was in here Front door doesn't lock. Old door and doesn't lock/shut properly. Sketch so bring a "friend" Food options. I'll admit, I'm a foodie and this place does NOT have good food. Osage was gross and over priced. We decided to come here instead of going to Colorado. Rooms were a bit cheaper because it was winter. There were 4 restaurants open, and one pool. We stayed at the Falls Lodge; apparently during the normal season these rooms are over $600 a night!!! While the view was nice, and the beds okay. I don't feel in any way the price is justified. Especially when you discover all the amenities that you think are included can also be enjoyed by "non guests!" That's right you may have an hour wait for dinner because Billy from Hollister wants to take out his family and 6 friends to Big Cedar! That alone is enough to make me never want to pay these prices. You pay for an inclusive experience you expect someone who didn't shouldn't enjoy them too. We went on a Thursday and it was pretty dead, and we were able to enjoy the area with other guests, but by Friday everything was packed!!! read more

Man, was I disappointed. Maybe my expectation of a resort is different, so that might be on me. When we booked a room for five of us, we decided to go with a "standard" hotel room - two queen beds with a roll away. At $300, I thought this included a little bit of everything - but it didn't. Sure you could canoe (more on that later), paddle boat, swim, and walk the grounds, but you could do little to nothing else without first ponying up some cash. The room was antiquated. The bathroom was so incredibly small and - surprise! - it had a window to the sleeping area. The humidity was high, so even at 66 degrees the room was hot and sticky. The roll away was brought in much later, and they only had two of us listed originally instead of five. We initially were going for two nights but could only get one. Thank God! They said, "Oh, we can get you in one of our cabins for $1,100 a night." Um, no. We ventured to Fun Mountain where everything cost money. Go carts? $10. Rope course? $25. Pool table? $10. Bowling? $50 per hr. We elected to do the go carts for $10 apiece ($40 total). We road twice and both times one of the carts broke down again and again. Every time this happened, they'd stop everyone for safety purposes. It just seemed like we didn't get the experience that we had hoped for. Everyone said to go canoe as it closed at 9PM. Because of the go carts stopping, we didn't get there until 8:20PM. That should've been enough time - except that they actually closed at 8PM! So literally just wasting our time. We ventured to the free movie night. Tom & Jerry. Yay. Everything cost - s'mores were $5. Ha ha. So ultimately we ventured back up to our hotel room where we couldn't sleep well due to the AC not keeping up with the humidity. The stomping of kids above us all night and early the next morning didn't help. Hot and sticky and no sleep. Room Service knocked on our door at 9:10AM even though checkout was at 11AM. We were going to do the Top of the Rock tour, but at $37 per person that was a hard no. If we had just gone here and no where else in Branson, I might've enjoyed it more. But thankfully we didn't. The area is incredibly nice and sprawling - thousands of acres. It has this pretty cool "Dirty Dancing" vibe to it that would've been awesome back in the day. But by today's standards - and they're pricing - this should have been more enjoyable. read more

The whole portion of our stay was trampled by the way we got treated during the dining experience. I get we aren't in upscale NYC, Short Hills NJ, Highland Park.... Los Altos Hills, etc etc we are in the "midwest". MISSOURI... needless to say we wanted to sit in a nice area of the dining to take it all in, for our vacation and visit with Mr. Neal McCoy -yes the country singer. So we asked for a seat at the top section, when the snooty host told my husband and I that "there are no seats, and there are seats open on the main floor, they serve fries on their menu." We felt judged upon our step into the establishment and felt terribly awful to stay at the resort for the one egregious treatment. As if the host wanted us to hear it, we had to. The rest of the guests looked at my husband and I like as if we didn't belong there. We are from Oklahoma, and we know how to dress. We know how to tip. This is marked as a "no-go" for the lifetime of our ventures outward into future stays of this area. Buzzard Bar isn't where it's at. Be careful for what you ask for and use your review/place of stay wisely. The hospitality and a disgruntled seating host don't mix well here. read more

Our family booked this little getaway with our 2 boys because we thought it would be an excellent escape and we could even visit Silver Dollar City we call that a win win! We are from Oklahoma City so it is about 5 hours. We have a 1.5 year old and 6 year old boys. The morning we were supposed to check in I got a text and email that said thank you for staying with us, etc. as if we had already stayed. I called the front desk that morning frantic thinking I made the wrong reservation no.. that was sent in error. I told them we were in town and they said she would make note on our reservation and should be able to check in early. I thought that was great and nice so we show up 2 hours ( 1pm)before checkin to find the room isn't ready. Which is fine no big deal. We decide to go to fun mountain to visit the arcade and kill a few hours we have lunch at uncle bucks and it was pretty decent bar style food. The kids meals were massive! We go back down at 3 to check in and we get a text that the water is out. We ask multiple people at the front desk if that will come back because since we have kids we are not up for being somewhere without water. Our younger son is a cleft lip and palate child and only drinks out of certain cups we always have to wash and sterilize at night. They assured us it would be on by 4 this was at 3. We said sure what is 1 hour. They then proceeded to say how they look forward to seeing us in a few weeks over thanksgiving. I'm sorry what? I didn't make a reservation over thanksgiving! The gentleman gives us a s'mores kit and really talks it up to our 6 year old so of course we have to do that in the evening with him super cute gesture they do! We walk up to our room it was cozy and sit down our luggage and the people below us hit the ceiling .... We thought oh my this is going to be a long night. We go play outside at their little playground and then walk over to reception desk to see where they recommend for dinner. They tell us since we have kids we really need to stay at lookout mountain and that's it. We felt trapped if we would've known this i could've taken my kids to our local arcade. Very frustrating - we didn't expect to take them to some of the nicer steakhouses but at least another option. So back to lookout mountain where the arcade was and eating at the same spot we had lunch because we were told that was the only option... thank goodness we had the s'mores as something to do ! So we walk with the stroller down these big hills going everywhere can't find it... back to reception we go only to find out s'mores aren't even offered on a Sunday night what a joke. Why give us the kit and tell us directions to it then. Back up to our hotel room we went and as i shut the door a pair of dirty socks from the guests before us were behind the door beside the chair. That was the final straw it was 7:30 at this time we were tired frustrated and miserable. We hadn't even unpacked and decided to go back to reception for the 100th time it seemed and told them we were checking out. We did get our $ back because oh yeah still NO water. Our dog had just died a few weeks before our little family was really needing an escape and something happy. We got home that night around 12:30 and were just so exhausted. When we were waiting we even bought big cedar shirts which i can't for the life of me wear because I'm reminded of the nightmare of this day! This definitely got us out of the house but i wanted more than anything just to be back home. I've Heard so many good things about this place but it was nothing but disappointing. Okay, I didn't find options to review dining spots individually so I'm combining the experience at Big Cedar Lodge. It's basically like a small town of its own with restaurants inside of the complex. Which, we didn't realize was the situation at reservation but I digress... So, first arrival, you're gonna take about 3mi of winding road to get to the registration center; not a joke, that's what the sign says and if not for the sign we would've thought we were driving somewhere definitely haunted. We arrived at night (snowstorm in our starting state) and the area is not well lit. Good for not causing city glow, not great for driving. Registration, they give you a card to fill out that seems like you could do all that previously when you book, but they want you to get their app-- which I gave up and eventually did but that was after checking in. Also, that check in card is just worded oddly, like just put "sign here" where you want a signature, it is not the Declaration of Independence. They didn't write the lodge name on the packet and in thinking it would be, we didn't ask after the fast spoken directions, lol. Yet, we made it first try. I should say the packet comes with a couple coupons and a list of things to do there-- which we did not have time to do before moving on, but it looked interesting. The stairs leading up from the parking lot, made of stone, ARE NOT EQUAL HEIGHT! I share my embarrassment for the sake of any elderly people who might stay-- I crashed and burned on those stairs. It really hurt my shins and my pride. There are no caution signs either. Get to the room, and the pictures on the site where we booked are deceptive... it's the same room but like real estate pictures of the room, lol. That's the point I guess. But, it was okay. Nice little gift basket, lodge decor. There was a big window from the room to the bathroom , though, that... why? Lol. Like, in what world is that necessary? Went with a friend mind you, not my partner, double queen room. Anyway, we arrived pretty late, we had hoped the Top of the Rock/Osage place would be open but everything basically closes at 8pm there. Only option was Buzzard Bar for dinner. If I had another option within the complex, I would've gone anywhere to get away from how loud the live music was. I am hard of hearing too, if that fills you in. It was just so loud; my friend also was very bothered by it. I do not envy the servers who had to just deal with it without a choice, cause we thought about getting everything to go and the server we talked with agreed about how loud it was. Thankfully the cowboy took a break from his guitar while were deciding and we ate just in time. Like, that's got to be some kind of comp for hearing loss for those staff. I'm saying it here, if any of you need it. But... the salmon and risotto I got, salmon was great-- juicy not dry, risotto was plain tasting. Server was just, an absolute sweetheart of a man. Morning, we gotta book it... so we go to the Truman café for breakfast (why am I writing like a 1930s detective in a talkie?). Great quiche, just so savory and good. Decent latte. Wonderful view. Right after, we went to the shoppe that's over there and got some souvenirs and gifts for the friend we were on our way to; it's a really nice shoppe. The nature tower is... it's kinda neat, but it's missing some displays and it looks like someone busted the butterfly case. All in all, I would honestly go back and I want to in order to try the other things that are available there, it is a unique and interesting place, so this is just... like some of these are the worst things about my experience and none of it is that bad (maybe except for the eardrum shattering music... and the death stairs, lol). But, hopefully this helps someone know a bit more about what they're getting into than we did, haha. read more

Big Cedar Lodge is an amazing to place to get away from the busyness of our everyday lives and enjoy the nature around us. It is beautiful here any time of year. Right now, the Christmas lights are up, and everything is so festive. Activities abound- lake activities, mini golf, swimming/hot tubs, family bonfires, and much more. There is something for everyone, but sometimes, the scenery is enough for me. Situated on the beautiful Table Rock Lake and surrounded by trees and mountains, the view is all I need. The service and facilities are top notch. Although many activities are pricey, there are some complimentary things as well. Movies, games, bonfires, and some scavenger hunts, etc are all free. And the cookies delivered daily to your room are a nice touch. The lodges and cottages are, of course, decorated with wildlife and an outdoorsy motif. The rooms and property are kept clean and well manicured. If you need a getaway, and you enjoy the outdoors, I highly recommend Big Cedar Lodge! read more

Pros: - rooms comfortable and space with different price ranges - nightly cookies in your room - paddle boats included in room rate - friendly staff - free shuttle that takes you anywhere inside the huge property. Cons: - the restaurants are always full, expensive and the food is so so I stayed here off season in March and opted for a cheaper room not overlooking the lake. We stayed in room 220 and it was great. The check In was super easy and fast. They had our spa reservations ready and reminded us of them. They offered to either have the extras charged to our room or we could pay as we go. We opted to pay as we go. The room was comfortable for two females. We each had a very comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. The room had a fridge, but no microwave. They did have a coffee pot. The coffee and tea were replenished almost daily. The bathroom was a little on the small side. Thank goodness for the vanity just outside the bathroom. That had plenty of space for our toiletries, make up and hair products. The toilets flushing was poor. We had to actually hold down the lever for the toilet paper to flush. The shower always had hot water. The toiletries included shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. The shampoo had a medicated smell, but the conditioner and lotion were nice smelling. We enjoyed the nightly gingerbread cookies. That was a sweet note. The property is beautiful and big. There's paved walking trails. Everything is closer than you think, but they do have a free shuttle that doesn't take long to come when you call them. We loved the paddle boats. They were included in the rate and we had no time limit while on them. They had activities schedule throughout the day. Some were free and some were not. Kids will stay busy here. They have a few pools. The on site restaurants offers a little bit of everything. Just beware that you are paying lodge prices. The spa was nice. We did get pedicures that I felt weren't up to par for what a normal pedicure would be, but I did not take advantage of their massage or facials. Prices for pedi and manis are comparable to any salon, but massage and facials are a little steep. Parking on property is easy and free. Tips: -if you want to eat off property, it will be a 20 min drive either direction. - do try to eat at the Keeter Center while in town. Do make reservations. read more

I know they aren't fully booked on a Sunday night in mid January. I won't be back and I'll tell everyone I know of this policy. This place is gorgeous and exceeded my expectations. Went in late September and everything was decorated in fall colors and pumpkins. They even had a Halloween maze. So many things to do for families. We rented a cabin close to the lake. Service was excellent. The staff provided us with towels daily, they even did our dishes while we were gone having fun. As far as covid restrictions, you are required to wear masks in buildings and in restaurants. I felt the tables in the restaurants were not spaced out further (not like in Vegas). There is a marina on the resort property where you can kayak, canoe, paddle boat, and fish. Really a wonderful place to get close to nature. read more

Little slice of paradise here! My boyfriend & I had the most awesome time, really a trip to remember staying at the Indian Creek Lodge. The room was spectacular and the attention to detail throughout big cedar made it even better. Even the parking spots lines were creative with little fish. Our room had a cozy fireplace and the outside had a bunch of chairs one big enough for two to sit! They even bring you little cookies in the afternoon straight to your room. There was two bedrooms and two baths and a super nice tub too. The outside view was incredible. I was so sad to leave here! They have so much to do here you really are set for your stay. From golfing to Spas they have lots of excursions. There are bars and restaurants as well for breakfast, lunch & dinner. There's a cool whiskey tasting area too with a very knowledgeable bartender. This resort, location, accommodations are first rate! I'm a repeat guest and will definitely return. This visit we stayed in room 611 - a cabin on property near Bent Hook Marina. We had no hot water - cold showers are the worst! Half the lights didn't work so we used our smart phone flashlights in those areas. We called the front desk a couple of times due to the room phones being very staticky (?). Once the front desk understood, they sent over maintenance. He arrived and promptly fixed the pilot on the hot water heater and the fuse for the lights. He was very friendly and apologetic. I can't help but wonder if there isn't a checklist in advance of guests arrival to ensure things are working properly so paying guests don't have to be inconvenienced during their stay. read more

I want to love this place. I hands down would say that the service of those working to clean the rooms, in the restaurants, marinas, shuttles, etc were amazing. The rooms from the website are really doctored. Sure, you will not be in your room the whole time, but when you are, it is really not that functional. We were in room 406 in the Springview room on the bottom floor (may have been 407). We had two rooms and were suppose to be next door, but instead one of our parties were upstairs with a nice patio and two doors and then we were down stairs with one french door that stares right into your room. You can have privacy but you have to close the big curtains and be in the dark. The point is to enjoy nature, but you have to shut those babies if you don't want everyone walking by looking in. Even when we left we didn't want our room to be on showcase, especially since we were right by the restaurant and by the stairs. You literally have to fight with the curtains and door to get out. When my husband left at 6am for golf, I would hear him fighting to close the door and curtain so people couldn't see my sleeping. It just felt very much like we were in a dungeon. AND, we had a humidifier going in the room when we checked in and no one addressed it. The room felt damp and so I assume it was to keep it dry, but again just made you feel like you were in a dungeon. We called to try and move next to our party upstairs, I get it not everyone gets a patio, but having a different door would have been better. The rooms on the ends of this building are pretty small, but will do the trick for a quick trip. Loved being by the bar/resturant so we didn't have to call a shuttle all the time. Shuttles became hard to come by when my party was golfing and I couldn't meet them for lunch at certain courses, only if I had a tee time. Normally, I would not complain. BUUUUUUUUUUT, we spent a lot of money here, like a LOT of money. It's not cheap. I would hope they would make the accommodations a little better for all the money you spend. We pretty much ate 3 meals a day at this place and hardly ventured off the property. That adds up. I feel like a few things go under way and they don't really care because they make so much money. Johnny Morris is an entrepreneur that I would love to support, but I also feel like in order to do that, a few things should be tweaked so you don't feel like your money isn't going far. We flew here from CA and we enjoyed the grounds, but the service and rooms were not worth the money. when we bring our family back next September we were hoping to stay here, but looking at the rates, I have no clue how large families can afford it. This is a huge property with many lodges on site. I stayed in Valley View on the odd numbered side of the building, looking out on the valley. I was completely exhausted from a very long day of travel and just wanted to go to sleep, but no, they were having a DJ Dance Party, with music blasting and base pounding. So terrible. I was told 'it is only held on Thursday, Friday, Saturday...' every night I'm there. They also said that they'd gotten several complaints about the sound level so would let those in charge know so that the next night it wouldn't be so bad. I asked to change rooms but was told that they were sold out. The next night it was still terrible. You can also hear everything going on above you and next door to you (connecting room - even though I didn't know the folks). I was kept up until about 1AM each night and woken up at 7AM the next morning. This was pure hell. I specifically asked for as quiet a room as possible when I made the reservation. Friends who stayed on the even number side of the building complained of hearing the beeping of the shuttles late at night or early in the morning. The rooms are spacious, but old, and dirty. I found crusted hair on the bathroom floors, holes in the shades, and something nasty lodged into the cables by the bedside table (see pics). When I returned to my room at midnight, my door was cracked open a few inches! I felt very unsafe and wasn't sure if someone had broken in or if something had been stolen. It is possible that housekeeping had returned to my room to leave a product they had not restocked on their earlier visit, but I did not ask for this, just noticed that I now had this product. Food catered for the events that I attended was decent. Restaurant food was average, at best. I cannot recommend staying here, and couldn't wait to leave. What a disappointing and unrelaxing trip. I left more tired than I was when I arrived. Not a good way to spend a hard earned vacation. read more

Ugh. Wanted to love this place. Pictures online were amazing and the drive into the property was so promising. Then, we arrived to our room. Moldy shower, bed frame falling apart, electric sockets coming out of the wall, filthy vents, old carpet. Talked to front desk and they offered us a smaller room or a cabin 20 minutes away (off property) for the first night and then switch to a new room the second night. What?? Pools were filthy. Granted, a storm did roll through earlier in the day but no sign of anyone cleaning the pools that we could tell. Over $600 per night for this?? Asked the front desk for a manager...none available they told me. They would have one reach out. Nothing. I also replied to one of their text messages later in the day, asking for a manager call. Nothing. We checked out early and I got a "How was your stay?" message from the hotel. So, I let them know I still needed to talk to a manager. Nothing. We cannot recommend this resort to family and friends due to the room conditions. read more

Outstanding hospitality and a comfortable stay are guaranteed when you stay here. My brother generously hosted us in one of the condos during Thanksgiving and we loved everything about the resort. The resort is a relaxing place to unwind and enjoy the beauty and nature of the Ozarks. The condos are well appointed and each offers a gas fireplace, a deck with a beautiful view of the mountains or lake, a nightly cookie delivery for an end-of-the-evening snack. We enjoyed exhilarating hikes to the resort restaurants, gift shop, and a cozy coffee shop and at night were able to take in the lovely Christmas lights and views from the area. After dark and our long day, we used their complementary shuttle to return to our condo for the night. We found all the resort employees to be gracious and friendly and there are activities for everyone. We enjoyed our stay and find that every time we come back they have added something new. read more

It pains me to write this review. After 14 years of visiting Big Cedar after Christmas every year since the death of my father (plus several years with him before that), I was just treated in the most uncaring fashion. My mother reserves a cabin for my nieces and nephew after Christmas as their special gift. She normally pays around $450 on average a night and we drive up, play games by the fire, and enjoy the cozy Christmas atmosphere. The kids got their gift this year and were especially excited due to being in lockdown all year. The deposit (one night's rate) for this Christmas was paid last January when we left - $439 for one night. Three days before we were supposed to leave, my mother got an email saying the rates had gone up to more than $1600 a night. What? We expect some increase each year, but that is insane. We figured it was a mistake, so I called. My mother was too upset. The representative, Andrea, told me that those were indeed the new rates and that we had been notified in October (we were not). I explained that we'd been there for years and NEVER had seen an increase like that and that my mother couldn't afford it. She offered 20% off of the $1,600, but that still wasn't doable at such a late date. She just kept repeating, "Those are the rates, you can cancel if you want." I told her it was truly sad to dismiss loyal customers so casually after years of visiting the resort, but she didn't care. This is the first time I've ever received less than stellar service from Big Cedar in 15 years - they even sent a gift basket to my mother when my dad died. But damn, this was a slap in the face. It may be for the best. It had gotten too big, doesn't have enough restaurants, and based on other reviews, isn't following precautions in the pandemic. But it is sad that this place has gone from a cozy family spot to a greedy money-making operation in a few short years. Jumping from $439/night to more than $1,600/night in one year is obscene. To be treated in such an uncaring fashion after years of loyalty? That's despicable. We won't be going this year, or likely ever again. Now we get to go tell the kids their Christmas trip is canceled. read more

I have always given Big Cedar 5* reviews. It pains me to reverse course. Everything about this visit has been underwhelming. Been coming here for many years. Rented cabins. Rented the Governor's Suite. Rented boats. Ate at all of the restaurants. I think this place has grown too much and too fast. The service has eroded. The quality of the experience has fallen dramatically. Don't get me wrong . . . it's gorgeous. But it has lost what once made it unique. And special. Disappointing trip. This review is for Camp Long Creek right outside of the Big Cedar Lodge property. We went at the beginning of December and had a blast! We stayed in a single room glamping cabin and brought our dog. My only regret is not booking the vacation for longer than a weekend! There is so much to do! We went on the Top of The Rock Lost Canyon Cave tour, saw all of the Big Cedar Christmas Lights, spent hours at the Cedar Creek Spa, went into the outdoor heated infinity pool and hot tub, and had an amazing dinner at the Worman House. We have stayed in the past and have always been impressed. But this trip was not very impressive. The activity options for families on the website is very confusing-disjointed information. When I called to inquire further, the lady was pleasant but not particularly helpful. On-site, the help did not get much better. Many options were closed due to weather and COVID, but there were other options closed for no reason. The cottage was very nice, restaurants were fine, but pricing throughout the resort seems to have gone up while service and amenities have either gone down or are so confusing even when you try to get help, the person helping doesn't really know how to direct you. It is unfortunate. Maybe they grew too fast and need to catch up. read more

WARNING Review... We are currently staying at Big Cedar Lodge in the Valley View Lodge Building. We would NOT recommend that you stay in this building when booking! If not staying in one of the other buildings, save your money and stay at a newer hotel down the road! The enjoyment of the facility can't be had if your wake up grumpy... lol If you want a peaceful, restful enjoyable sleep you will NOT get it if you are staying on the First or Second floors of this building. We literally heard ever step that the people above us made starting at 5am when they woke up! We thought okay that may have been random then for the next two hours it was like the road of a stampede. The floors above are creaky and you can hear every step a person makes. No fault to the people above, they were just getting on with their day! Given the exclusiveness of the resort, this was definitely an extreme let down! When I contacted the front desk via the virtual assistant, they were going to look at moving our room for a more enjoyable stay. That's awesome. We will see how that goes. ****new**** Big Cedar delivers awesome customer service. They were very understanding of the situation and moved us to another room in another building with better sound proofing! They really made a bad experience much better! We look forward to a wonder nights sleep! FYI for families... there is no microwave in the the Room! We had a large dinner and got a take out box which we stored in the Fridge in unit. I looked around and said where is the Microwave? Why have a fridge and no microwave? When I contacted the front desk (virtual assistant) they said there would be a $35.00 up charge one time for a microwave to be placed in the room! Also, don't fall for the name of the building. There is no view of the Valley if staying on the wrong side of building. U literally see an out building and a parking lot!!!! If you do risk staying in this building make sure to request the appropriate side. We did not and we're highly disappointed with that. Also the people taking our order did not tell us we would be viewing a parking lot! On a positive note, the grounds are beautiful, lots of activities, and the shuttle service seems to be very good. It's close to the things we wanted to experience, however, we will be doing those things with a rudely awaken lack of sleep due to the insufficient sound proofing in their building. We will be attending the spa for a spa day and will review that later on in our stay. Review will be updated with additional insights on how this all worked out. Thank you read more

We had a relaxing week at Big Cedar Lodge. Enjoyed the food and atmosphere of the Buffalo ridge restaurants at top of the rock and Devils pool food drinks and entertainment. Enjoyed Scenic hiking, and learning about historical sites, people, and animals. We plan to come again to explore more of the Ozarks and big Cedar in our future. read more

Just stayed for a wedding...Absolutely loved this place!!! The scenery is incredible; people are warm and friendly. Visited the spa and had a great massage; it was a little pricey for a 60 minute Swedish massage but I won't complain because the masseuse was great and typically massages and spa services are more at a resort. Wonderful experience and would highly recommend. read more

Not sure if the building is just so old and outdated, but if you don't want to hear every foot step of the person above you, ask for upper level. I was on first floor and could literally hear every moving the people above me were making...at some points, it sounded like they were moving furniture. So for $300 a night, I got 0 sleep. I won't return knowing I could run into this again. read more

This was our second time to visit big Cedar. We stayed in the cabins again. The views are amazing. The room is fantastic. If I had somebody's ear, the only things I would say is replace the beds because they're hard as rocks. Please put some washers and dryers in the cabinets and it would be perfect. Other than that we had a fantastic time and hope you enjoy more visits. read more

I guess I take the Ozarks for granted since I grew up nearby, but it's like Jonny Morris or whatever the owner's name is took the Ozarks and slapped a big old price tag on it! This place is expensive! I thought we could get some lower prices with it being the dead of winter, but a precooked reheated breakfast for two at the Truman Cafe was $39! Wish we had just stayed in Branson or Springfield The staff were very nice, but the place just isn't worth the price I won't be back read more

Three stars...let me explain. 1 STAR for accomodations in the Springview Lodge (1 bedroom king). The room had a mildew/damp smell which Big Cedar is clearly aware of as evidenced by the dehumidifier next to the love seat as well as the rusted air vents. The furniture & carpet is old... like 1970s awful and needs to be replaced. For the price we paid I expected a very nice room. 5 STARS for everything outside of the room. Dining at Osage, Devil's Pool, Uncle Buck's was excellent! Boat rental was super reasonably priced at $55 per hour and the golf cart tour at Top of the Rock was great fun. So....I recommend staying elsewhere that's newer and less expensive than Big Cedar Lodge and just enjoying all of their activities and restaurants . read more

I didn't quite know what to expect. My parents wanted us to take us on a weekend getaway. We got 3 rooms in Falls Lodge. I expected the rooms to be nicer than they were. They just felt dated. The sheets on the beds were great but I hated the pillows. The room itself just didn't feel super clean or what I would expect for the price. The attention to detail just wasn't there. We had burned out lights in our room, our fireplace didn't work, etc. I will say the grounds are gorgeous and we enjoyed Fun Mountain and the indoor pool. Occasion: Business Conference As much as I can appreciate the beauty of this place, I'll be so happy to see it in my rear view later today. But this isn't really anything the resort can affect - it's just too darn cold this week to really enjoy a place like this. This resort is in an idyllic setting and has everything a family visiting the area could possibly want - fun zone for the kids, lake life, shooting for the parents, and many other things. It's also just beautiful to walk around and look at all of the Christmas trees and lights. The service is excellent too, and I've had some of the best food I've had at buffet style dinners while I've been here. The room is what most would consider lovely. I'm just not into the hunting aesthetic though - the four dead animals in my room and the GIANT, heavy, antleresque chandelier in my room add up to a creepy sleeping experience. Also, there's a beautiful cathedral window but it's a lot less beautiful at the crack of dawn when the room fills with light because it's not shaded. There were also a couple of maintenance issues and they struggled to keep the walkways salted or I probably would have given them 5 stars. I can tell that this is a top notch resort that probably appeals to most people. It's not my cup of tea but I can appreciate quality even if it's not my taste so it's still a four star experience. Would I recommend? Yes - in the Spring or Fall Would I return? Probably not read more

Wonderful property on Table Rock lake south of Brandon. Several nice scenic roads to drive around and see the area. Restaurants are a little pricey, but there is a store in town you can load up & save a few bucks. Spa experience was nice when I went & they gave a quality massage. I personally prefer Spring & Fall for the foliage, but summers on the lake are super popular too. Great experience. read more
