If you only want a hotel with a nice view of the lake, this is your place. BUT!!! Our one bedroom condo was filthy on arrival - long hairs around the toilet, dirty dishes and tableware, a uncleaned refrigerator, stains on the bed linens, a torn "bedbug cover" on the mattress, numerous spiderwebs and other more exotic bugs (both dead and alive) in the room. We spent hours cleaning to get to a point we could use our "suite." We had booked a second room for our family where the view was ruined by windows caked with who knows what, the washer/dryer was never properly installed (it leaked after it was finally connected by the maintenance staff) and the living room TV never worked. On the first morning, after a short sleep interrupted by the sun pouring in around the disconnected window shades, the Keurig exploded leaving a coffee grounds mess on the counter and floor. We had to make several trips to the front desk to attempt to make things right. However, this place is critically understaffed - the young barely trained manager (Andre) was very polite and wanted to be helpful, but he was basically the only person working and severely limited by the owners. His schedule included four consecutive 8am to 8pm shifts with 12-hour evenings spent in one of the guest rooms "on call" for late arrivals and emergencies. The desk was frequently empty with a "back soon" notice when he was off doing something else. We never saw a housekeeping person in our room and whenever anything was needed it was just Andre on the spot. Ultimately, the part-time (it seems) maintenance person fixed our blinds, we were offered a new bedbug cover (but we would have to lift the mattress to install it ourselves), and the Keurig was replaced with a working model from a vacant room. The entire hotel staff was comprised of an overworked manager, a single housekeeper that only "cleaned" rooms on guest departure and the maintenance guy. The restaurant was staffed by an amicable couple and the food was about ten times better than the room. There were plenty of rooms available as most of the hotel's business came from overflow from Bluegreen The Cliffs at Long Creek nearby. In compensation for our time fixing and cleaning our room the first night, we were given a free night for our one room and a restaurant voucher. But after subsequent problems and complaints we were told that "the boss" would not allow any further recompense. On the contrary, we were told that management indicated that we would be allowed to leave early if we wished. The fact is that no owner or senior staff member ever contacted us, apologized or addressed any of our concerns. They were never there. We could continue to list problems as this is only a representative sampling. I will add two more items: the doors were always open even when there was no one at the desk overnight - this seems pretty unsafe; and, you had to take your own trash to the dumpster at the end of the building. Maybe this is obvious, but we really can't recommend the Table Rock Lake Condos at D'Monaco Resort. The four-star rating is a joke. read more
