Very clean and new carpets, well appointed furniture, very comfortable temperure in May. Lovely shower, good water pressure, hot. We dropped in spontaneously on roadtrip to Ouachitas, retail nightly $52 and was extremely satisfied with experience. There is a mediocre buffet in parking lot plaza, but we used microwave to reheat hearty soups. Would recommend, would book again. We arrived after midnight and promptly got a room. It was clean, and well made up. A mini-refrigerator and the microwave both worked, plus we had cable and HBO. The AC worked like a charm, it got us down to 65 degrees! The shower was hot and very nice after a long hike. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were nice, could be improved, but not scratchy. The rooms were pretty large too, lots of room for luggage and space for what ever. There was also a table to eat at or play a game, and a well lit bathroom/vanity. The grounds were well maintained and well lit. I forgot my pillow and they notified me that I left it. I'm very grateful I chose to stay here instead of anywhere else we passed on my way to, and from the national park from Texas. Great customer service, and overall experience. Thank you, guys!

Bed was comfy and shower was nice size but water pressure was low....... 55 bucks, I wasn't tripping! Until I found the bed bugs. We saw one and stripped the entire bed apart and found many more. The floor under the bed was filthy. We grabbed our stuff and went directly to the office and the man that was at the desk didn't say a single word to us - he looked at me and I told him what we found and showed a picture and without a word he gave us our money back. Here we are at 9pm in this little town with few hotel options. We drove directly across the street to the De Queen Courtyard Inn. I paid for the room and before we took anything inside we stripped the entire bed. It's an older motel and super basic but CLEAN. Bed comfy. It'll do for a nights sleep.

The front desk was not managed 24/7 as expected, and pet policy (which have learned is different…read morefor each Hampton) was not transparent nor did front desk provide information about pets upon check-in. This establishment is not pet-friendly as advertised: (1) was charged twice for the pet (1 small dog) fee (billing has reviewed the receipt and is working on the correction/refund). Got yelled at by restaurant staff (Y****da) in front of other guests for bringing the10-12 pound dog on a leash into the area for breakfast (the previous Hampton stayed at allowed a dog on a leash in he area to get a plate of food) and she loudly and openly accused us of lying while near the food when we replied we never saw the sign prohibiting this action. A lot of things went wrong at this establishment; can't recommend it to others. Y should not have yelled and also her body language (hand on one hip, then arms crossed, then hand on the hip again) screamed out disrespect and anger; instead, she chose to not be polite, explain the situation quietly and respectfully. She was quite awful. Further, because of this incident, we wanted to check out as fast as possible, however, no one was at the front desk (nor available by calling from the room's phone), even though later they claimed they were there the whole time. Had to leave the keys in the room. With all this going on, there is no way anyone would have felt welcome.

Historical B&B with plenty of Charm! We were lucky enough…read moreto book our stay at this B&B as the resort we were initially going to book was completely sold out. This historical B&B is nested in the small town of Mena, Arkansas. As we drove upon the property, I already knew that we were going to have a comfortable stay as the driveway itself is elegant. The exterior of the home brings back all the character and charm of the 1900's. The innkeepers were one the friendliest hosts I have met. Both Darren and Jill went above and beyond to ensure that we had the most pleasant stay. A plus on this, is that Jill herself is a baker and had different types of cookies and muffins ready for us daily. Highlights were the blueberry muffins (berries locally picked) and the Louisianna Tea cookies (original family recipe). They even had plenty of drinks stocked for us throughout the stay. Darren himself is a concierge and was so knowledgeable of the home's history and the surrounding areas. The house itself was comfortable and one of a kind. We were given the top floor of the home which felt like a suite. The house has been kept to its original state. Everything from the windows to the doors, and ceilings are authentic. As we walked into the first room upstairs, we could not help but notice the coziness of the decor. The room itself has two twin beds and is connected to the primary bedroom and bathroom. The space was huge and felt welcoming. The beds themselves were so comfortable that we ended up sleeping in daily getting caught up on some much-needed zzz's. I was a little worried about thin walls, but you could not even hear a pin drop! On our last day, we sat out in their back porch sitting area to view the beautiful sassafras trees. These trees are the oldest trees in the area and were absolutely beautiful. As the sun went down, we started to see the mesmerizing fireflies making the our experience majical!. This brought back so many memories since do not have these back in Vegas. This was just a priceless moment for us! This by far was one of our best stays while out traveling. If we are in the area again, we will book another stay but if not, we will stop by for the treats! Thanks to Darren and Jill for the wonderful experience!
