Exceptional value, $52 incl tax for large king bedroom with sofa, desk, walk-in closet, tv,…read moreminifridge, microwave. Nice cable channels, watched King Kong. Very clean and new carpets, well appointed furniture, very comfortable temperure in May. Lovely shower, good water pressure, hot. Mgmt says coffee machine and hair dryer to be implented in 2 months (july 2016). Large spacious room, 350sf, surprisingly quiet and away from traffic or people's voices. We dropped in spontaneously on roadtrip to Ouachitas, retail nightly $52 and was extremely satisfied with experience. There is a mediocre buffet in parking lot plaza, but we used microwave to reheat hearty soups. Would recommend, would book again. Bring dish detergent and bowls :) They don't call it the Palace for nothin. Newly opened for 7 months, superior alternative in value to all Mena, AK accomodations.

As far as utility and cleanliness on par with any chain hotel I've stayed at. Someone else said…read moredated decor, I'd call it retro. The staff, particularly Jay, was very helpful. We arrived after midnight and promptly got a room. It was clean, and well made up. A mini-refrigerator and the microwave both worked, plus we had cable and HBO. The AC worked like a charm, it got us down to 65 degrees! The shower was hot and very nice after a long hike. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were nice, could be improved, but not scratchy. The rooms were pretty large too, lots of room for luggage and space for what ever. There was also a table to eat at or play a game, and a well lit bathroom/vanity. The grounds were well maintained and well lit. I forgot my pillow and they notified me that I left it. I'm very grateful I chose to stay here instead of anywhere else we passed on my way to, and from the national park from Texas. Great customer service, and overall experience. Thank you, guys!

I discussed this with my family and they said I should leave a review. The person at the front desk was abrasive immediately upon me arriving at the inn. She seemed mad I had requested a king size for me and my two smaller kids instead of two doubles. The king was cheaper and plenty of room for myself and my two young kids. We had a long day of travel and had an incident that put a wrench in our plans so I wasn't all there mentally and left my card in the room and locked myself out. From what I already experienced, I dreaded going to the front desk to let them know but they were very helpful and made me a new key post haste. The room was nice and seemed clean. We used the microwave to cook dinner and watched Monday Night Football. We fell asleep around 9:30 after setting our alarm for 5:30 for our planned 3 day through hike. At 12:30 am, I got up with a bit of an upset stomach. When I turned on the light, I saw what looked like a bed bug on the commode. I killed it but started leaning toward it not being a bedbug but thought I'd research bedbugs anyway and started watching Mark Rober's YouTube video on bedbugs. About 5 minutes into the video, a bedbug ran across my forearm. This one was definitely was a bedbug. I found two more on the floor. I used the flashlight on my phone to check the mattress while my kids slept and found a bedbug mattress encasement. At 1:00 am, I got my kids up, loaded the car, left the key in the night slot and drove four hours home and steam cleaned my car and all our hiking/camping equipment. Again, i had no intention of retribution or exposing this inn, but when I called to tell them just as a simple courtesy, I received an earful. I was expecting a thank you or even just an acknowledgment but instead received a dress down. I gave 2 stars because without the bedbugs and even with the initial unpleasantness, I would have stayed here again.

Darren answered my call late at night and was able to get me a room. This place has incredible history. It's very charming. But, Darren was a big part of what made me enjoy my stay. I was alone, scared, and tired after being caught in that storm. Darren made me feel at home in this inn. He even made me some incredible blueberry muffins in the morning to send me off. Thank you so much for your generosity.

Historical B&B with plenty of Charm! We were lucky enough…read moreto book our stay at this B&B as the resort we were initially going to book was completely sold out. This historical B&B is nested in the small town of Mena, Arkansas. As we drove upon the property, I already knew that we were going to have a comfortable stay as the driveway itself is elegant. The exterior of the home brings back all the character and charm of the 1900's. The innkeepers were one the friendliest hosts I have met. Both Darren and Jill went above and beyond to ensure that we had the most pleasant stay. A plus on this, is that Jill herself is a baker and had different types of cookies and muffins ready for us daily. Highlights were the blueberry muffins (berries locally picked) and the Louisianna Tea cookies (original family recipe). They even had plenty of drinks stocked for us throughout the stay. Darren himself is a concierge and was so knowledgeable of the home's history and the surrounding areas. The house itself was comfortable and one of a kind. We were given the top floor of the home which felt like a suite. The house has been kept to its original state. Everything from the windows to the doors, and ceilings are authentic. As we walked into the first room upstairs, we could not help but notice the coziness of the decor. The room itself has two twin beds and is connected to the primary bedroom and bathroom. The space was huge and felt welcoming. The beds themselves were so comfortable that we ended up sleeping in daily getting caught up on some much-needed zzz's. I was a little worried about thin walls, but you could not even hear a pin drop! On our last day, we sat out in their back porch sitting area to view the beautiful sassafras trees. These trees are the oldest trees in the area and were absolutely beautiful. As the sun went down, we started to see the mesmerizing fireflies making the our experience majical!. This brought back so many memories since do not have these back in Vegas. This was just a priceless moment for us! This by far was one of our best stays while out traveling. If we are in the area again, we will book another stay but if not, we will stop by for the treats! Thanks to Darren and Jill for the wonderful experience!
