Very clean and new carpets, well appointed furniture, very comfortable temperure in May. Lovely shower, good water pressure, hot. Mgmt says coffee machine and hair dryer to be implented in 2 months (july 2016). Large spacious room, 350sf, surprisingly quiet and away from traffic or people's voices. We dropped in spontaneously on roadtrip to Ouachitas, retail nightly $52 and was extremely satisfied with experience. There is a mediocre buffet in parking lot plaza, but we used microwave to reheat hearty soups. Would recommend, would book again. Bring dish detergent and bowls :) They don't call it the Palace for nothin. Newly opened for 7 months, superior alternative in value to all Mena, AK accomodations.

As far as utility and cleanliness on par with any chain hotel I've stayed at. Someone else said…read moredated decor, I'd call it retro. The staff, particularly Jay, was very helpful. We arrived after midnight and promptly got a room. It was clean, and well made up. A mini-refrigerator and the microwave both worked, plus we had cable and HBO. The AC worked like a charm, it got us down to 65 degrees! The shower was hot and very nice after a long hike. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were nice, could be improved, but not scratchy. The rooms were pretty large too, lots of room for luggage and space for what ever. There was also a table to eat at or play a game, and a well lit bathroom/vanity. The grounds were well maintained and well lit. I forgot my pillow and they notified me that I left it. I'm very grateful I chose to stay here instead of anywhere else we passed on my way to, and from the national park from Texas. Great customer service, and overall experience. Thank you, guys!

All hotels in Mena were booked so we found this one 45 minutes away.... Location is decent enough: shopping and restaurants close by. Nothing spectacular but we just needed 12ish hours! Bed was comfy and shower was nice size but water pressure was low....... 55 bucks, I wasn't tripping! Until I found the bed bugs. We saw one and stripped the entire bed apart and found many more. The floor under the bed was filthy. We grabbed our stuff and went directly to the office and the man that was at the desk didn't say a single word to us - he looked at me and I told him what we found and showed a picture and without a word he gave us our money back. Here we are at 9pm in this little town with few hotel options. We drove directly across the street to the De Queen Courtyard Inn. I paid for the room and before we took anything inside we stripped the entire bed. It's an older motel and super basic but CLEAN. Bed comfy. It'll do for a nights sleep.

The gas attendant was very helpful. She's a local and she said Western Plaza Inn would be able to accept dogs because she used to visit her kids here until recently when she moved here to be closed to her children. When she was visiting, she would come with her Malamute. The Inn was just right behind the gas station so wonderful, I thought. Well, the front desk person acted like we were bothering him from his sleep. You might as well talk to a robot. He said no dogs allowed. I thought it said online they allowed dogs.
