We recently stayed at the Soaring Eagle cabin. Mouse bait box was chewed constantly throughout the night, but from the sound in the ceiling I believe it was a rat.Not as clean as advertised in the photos, also many things in need of repair. Fold out couch is broken, floors are very uneven so doors don't shut. Temperature around toilet is 48 degrees "current temperature outside", shower handle pops off, toilet lid not secure, corroded remote batteries, living space ceiling fan does not work and extremely hot upstairs but cold downstairs. read more

So me and my friends drove down about 4-5 hours for one of their birthdays and once we got to the cabin at like 9pm, we noticed someone else in the cabin. Upon looking at the confirmation e-mail, we had driven on the wrong weekend. We thought it would be a shot in the dark to call so late, but James answered the phone and was the most helpful, friendly, and kind man that I could have spoken to. Without any additional fees or issue, he put us up in a comparable cabin which was incredibly clean and ready to go! Also, he let us cancel the next weekend's booking without any fees or issue too. Plus - checking out has never been easier. Short of having to do the dishes, they didn't require us to do anything else. I will NEVER book with anyone else...seriously, it could have gone so wrong but James made it so easy. read more

I stayed at the beautiful Coach House Cabin. It was very secluded and I enjoyed the fact I could bring my dogs with me. I love the T.V on the back deck with the living room style seating. We stayed in The Coach House cabin for my 30th birthday and we had a blast!! I didn't take many pictures inside but honestly the pictures on the rental website already tell that story. It's a gorgeous cabin and the owners have taken great care to fill it with pretty much anything you could need or want! I think the kitchen had more utensils and dishes than I do at home! It was little things like metal marshmallow roasting sticks hanging on a tree by the fire pit, air freshener spray in the bathrooms, and even a drawer in the kitchen with decks of cards, dominoes, candles, and pens. We spent most of our weekend in or at the cabin and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. My boyfriend and I split the cabin with my brother and his wife. My daughters loved their "couch bed" and the cabin was comfortably roomy for all of us. Just a heads up, the roads are VERY STEEP. We drove in at night and at one point the road looked like it just...dropped off. It didn't obviously, and in the daylight it was still steep, but nowhere near as scary. Also, depending on your carrier, you might not have a lick of cell service anywhere in Broken Bow or surrounding areas. I think most of the cabins have Wifi, so you should prepare for your destinations map-wise before you leave the cabin. GPS will continue to work even when there is no actual service, but it won't be able to search for new locations. To stock up on supplies, there is a walmart in Idabel about 16 mi away. I think there's one in broken bow but it's not a supercenter. As you can see in one of the pics, there are other cabins nearby. I saw vehicles at all of them but never actually saw or heard people. It didn't take away from our experience at all. All in all, this is one of the best trips I've ever taken and we enjoyed our cabin so much! read more

We had such a grand time in Sundown's Red Fox Lodge. The cabin was beautiful, and incredibly well-apportioned, down to the last essential cup cooking utensil. The property really delighted us, with lots of play area and a creek running through along the back border. The proprietors were quick to respond, and even shipped us back a valued item we had left behind. We'll be back! read more

We had a reservation for over a month and at 2:00 on the day of arrival they called us to say there was a dead animal in the cabin. After an hour of discussion they suggested we cancel or move to another location that would cost is an additional 300.00. With half of our group of 10 on the road they agreed to refund our fees and pay 150.00 of the transfer cost. I was told to come by on while in town and pick up a check for our refund and the 150.00. As we arrived at the address on the email and it was a resident, so I called and was told on Sunday night they would process our refund to our card. Multiple calls and emails later they sent an email confirming the refund and it took 3 mores days to hit out account and they failed to provide the 150.00 credit. To date we have had no response. I am sure it's a nice place but it is run poorly and don't trust them. read more

We loved our time at the Coyote Crossing cabin and will definitely be back. Set back off the road with a running stream out behind the deck and other relaxing features like hot tub and fire pit! The Coach Cabin We come every year to a different cabin for girls weekend. We had a great time like always but the cabin needs some work. When we arrived we noticed that the hot tub had not been cleaned because there was dead skin floating in it plus a dirt ring around the side. Had a hard time calling the office with our phone service not working well out in the woods. This is why there should be a home phone. The room on right was not cleaned because there was no shampoo or conditioner and there was dog food in floor. The appliances are very dated and don't work well. Could not turn fan on in living room and the fan in bedroom was on wrong setting. The storm knocked out the cable so we would've liked to be able to watch Netflix in living room. The fireplace had no heat coming out. Our main thing was the hot tub didn't look like pictures. Missing all the pillows and there is wood paneling all around the sides so you can't enjoy fire pit or the wood scenery. This cabin is not secluded and is next to two other cabins so no privacy. Maybe you could move hot tub and fire pit to the front and add some rockers on front porch??.. Just a suggestion. We really did have a great time but cabin definitely needs some work. We have used Sundown cabins for many years. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience with this last cabin we used (Morning Star). I wasn't going to leave a review, but sadly when I reached out to management (James), he didn't even apologize or try to fix the situation. Our cabin WASN'T CLEANED! It was complete filth. We had to wash our own sheets because they had hairs and stains on them. There were hairs all over the shower, in the sinks, food or debris in the sinks, and roaches. The hot tub looked and smelled like a dirty fish tank. We got in once for 10 minutes and had to get out it was so bad. When sitting by the fire all you can smell is a rotten natural gas smell. There are so many other things, but I will end here. I wish management cared, but they don't. Paying a large amount of money for a cleaning service (not to mention $1,000 to stay at the cabin) when you know it wasn't cleaned, and you had to do it yourself is unacceptable. read more

We stayed at the Hideaway Haven cabin. The reason for the three stars. Mainly the bed. They advertise how nice the bed is. We could not rest. we would end up in the middle and getting out, was like trying to climb a hill and pull yourself out of the hole. We go to Broken Bow a couple times a year, and always rent cabins. This time was the first, that we were this disappointed. We continued to not have any internet, so we couldn't watch the Netflick. I am sure this was something they have no control over. Overall the cabin was very nice as they usually are. We really enjoyed the outdoor fireplace. The other reason for the three stars, the hot tub looked nice, but they didn't furnish a step to get in, we were a little concerned with our safety. They just mainly need to get the mattress replaced and some way to get into the hot tub easier. read more

I made a reservation for a weekend in April 2017. In January, I had to cancel the trip due to a work conflict. A friend asked if I could transfer the reservation to her for the same cabin and dates. We both contacted Sundown and they said it would be possible to do this. She already had a reservation at Sundown in a different cabin for the same dates. However, they told me I would still lose my "non-refundable" deposit. The website does state that deposits are non-refundable and will be charged to your card when the reservation is made.They also sell travel insurance through their website. However, my friend will rent this cabin in my place and Sundown will not lose any money. If they were going to lose money, I could understand this. It looks like a nice place in the photos but I will never go there. Way to go, Sundown, you will get to keep the $95 you already charged my card but you will never see the $600-$800 I was planning on spending with you on a future visit. Thanks for Nothing. read more

My husband and I have been going to the Sundown cabins for the past 7 years for our anniversary...We love the little details to each cabin, from the cute little cookie cutter in the kitchen to the basket of magazines...Not every cabin has cookie cutters, but you can expected there to be everything you need to cook your meals indoors or out... There are fire pit for roasting marshmallow or just to chill by the fire and watch for a shooting star... When we go on our trips we just need to pack our closet and I all was bring our own food, there is only one grocery store in town...But every thing else we need will be there waiting for us...In each of the cabins we have found a shelf where other guest have left behind a spice or something to use for cooking, you don't have to but it is somewhat fun to leave a little gift behind... And one last thing please don't for get to read and sign with your story about your stay in the little book that you will find on the coffee table... May be wonderful, however they are advertised as "pet friendly" which is not true. Sundown Cabin Rentals are NOT pet friendly they are dog friendly maybe but not pet friendly. This is false advertising and a reprehensible sales practice. Landlords need to clean up their act. read more

You will not find a better cabin, better setup, or better owners anywhere! These cabins are pure perfection, no matter which one you choose. They are super clean, the hot tubs are cleaned after every stay, they are fully (and I mean fully) stocked, all you have to bring is yourself, food if you cook, and the things that you want to bring. They have everything from pots and pans to soap and washing liquid for clothes. They have a washer/dryer, hot tub, beautiful surroundings, and are very close to Beavers Bend State Park (within 5 minutes or less) and Broken Bow Lake. I cannot say enough great things about this place! read more

We stayed at coyote crossing and we really enjoyed our time. The cabin is very beautiful and nicely built, but the thing that ruined our moods is the management. We will never rent from Sundown Cabins because of the Management. Talking to them on the phone before our visit and after they always had attitudes and argued back. They accused us of having more adults than we had and tried charging us after we left. They need to refresh their minds on their own policies before accusing their customers. If they cant be polite to people and ask before accusing then they need to get out of the business or learn better customer service skills. read more

My family stayed in the Makin Memories cabin. It was a nice cabin with comfortable beds inside the rooms. The fold out couch king size bed was not nearly as comfortable as advertised. It was a step up from laying on an air mattress but was extremely hard. The water pressure was pretty terrible but at least the water was nice and warm. The overhead fan in the living room makes a loud slicing noise as the fan grinds against the metal. we were given 3 trashbags and 2 rolls of paper towels for 4 days.... When I spoke to the lady who works on the cabins prior to going on the trip she was extremely agressive and short with me and stated that there would be plenty of paper towels and trashbags.. which there wasn't. We made sure to leave the cabin nice and tidy when we left. A few hours after leaving the cabin we got a phone call from James the owner/manager quizzing us how many people were in our cabin. James said they saw 4 cars outside the cabin while we were staying there which made me feel uneasy that we were being secretly watched our entire stay (we had other family staying in cabins within the area) and he also was quizzing us about if we had dogs because the cleaning people said there was dog hair inside. (dogs stayed outside the entire time and its a pet friendly cabin) neadless to say I would NOT stay at one of the Sundown cabin rentals again. They have SO much competition with other luxury cabins you would think they would better educate themselves on how to have better customer service and how to be more accomodating. read more
