Good site but we could here the traffic on highway, quick fix by running fan in RV at night. Quiet park, creek was good for exploring, we hiked up the hill and found a hidden pond. I arrived to check into my prepaid reservation 6/7, only to be informed that the hotel had given my room away to another guest. I had to call a number on the door since there was not an employee on site. This person lied about my calling, even though, my call log proves otherwise, calling four times until it was answered on the fourth attempt. When contacting the property on 6/15, Jordan at the front desk offered zero customer service then proceeded to HANG UP on me. In the proceeding conversations, she lied three times about this situation. Refused to escalate this to the supervisor nor provide me with their email address. Attempting to resolve this with their billing and management team has been an exercise in frustration. Retaining payment for services rendered is standard business; charging a customer for a room you actively gave away to someone else is, frankly, fraudulent. If you value consumer rights, reliable reservations, and ethical billing practices, I strongly advise booking elsewhere.

This was the first time for us renting a cabin, Tranquility. I would even just call this a house…read more My idea of a cabin is a one room plain Jane old wood shack. Lol.... This was beautiful inside. Master upstairs with full bathroom and 2 bedrooms downstairs, full bathroom. Very comfortable beds, nice thick towels Nice kitchen with everything you would need to cook. We ate all meals out but if you had a family it would be good. Decorated cute, good TV's, comfy couch. Large windows on one end, maybe a little cleaning outside needed to raise shade and let light in. Negative was having to drive over a concrete passage at pond, to cabin. Very scary at night , not wide enough! Only 2 cabins were across this so recommend staying at one of the front ones. If you are a city girl, ponds are not something you would want to sit around. Internet not good at cabin so kept us off our phones. A positive thing unless you have addicted kids to their games. We really enjoyed our long weekend and glad we rented the cabin. Lots to do in area, everything close by. Contacted the cabin manager with questions and seemed very nice. Looking forward to another visit.

We loved our time in this cabin (Kindled Pines, previously known as Barely Camping). It was clean,…read morecomfortable, and very well-stocked. All we needed to bring was our own food. The cabin had toiletries, plenty of towels, trash bags, cookware, etc. The owners were responsive when contacted. The only thing some people might or might not like is the location. It's within easy walking distance of a few shops and restaurants, and the road is paved until you turn into the cabin driveway. That was a postive for us. But some people might not like the fact that there was the sound of cars driving by, and in the evenings there was live music at a bar that could be heard from our cabin. We didn't mind it but some might. A few years ago we stayed at a different cabin (Oh, Dear), which was much quieter but was down an unacceptably rough, unpaved road with large holes in it. We were happy to trade easier access and no worries about damaging our car for a bit less quiet. And to be fair, maybe they've fixed the other road by now, I don't know. We didn't want to risk it.

I decided to rent from Blue Beaver again since they've never let me down. I can't necessarily say that this time. I rented one of the biggest cabins on their website. We went to the beautiful Steinmore. This cabin is very impressive and has plenty of space for everyone. The rooms are decorated nicely, and all the amenities were thought of. My biggest letdown was the beds in the 2 master rooms downstairs. The beds are not of the highest quality and do not have box springs. The beds sit VERY low for the group and make it very difficult to get in and out of. I am 6ft, 230 lbs., and felt like I was sinking into the bed and rolling back toward the headboard. My daughter and her husband slept in the master closet to the kitchen, and they too did not sleep well. The mattresses were not the issue, it was the fact that the mattresses are sitting on planks. Other things that were bothersome are small details and have to do with expectations. * Dusty blinds * Smears on walls * Trashcan was not empty upon arrival * The walls behind the trashcans were dirty * The trash bin drawer was filthy around the lip of the can * Comforters and throw pillows in bedrooms were stained * Only two trash bags were left for a family of 15 for the whole weekend * Christmas plates and décor on the table were dusty- Probably pulled from the storage and set right onto the table * Glasses were greasy and many needed to be rewashed before using These are all small details that will make this cabin more awesome than it was. When you pay almost $3k for a weekend you would expect perfection.

There was no dish soap so we had to buy our own. Several lights are out inside and outside the cabin. There are multiple tv's however good luck trying to find remotes that go/work with the tv. I responded and asked a question. No response. I then emailed a picture of the windowsill in the upstairs bedroom. I can't even begin to guess what the mysterious splatter was. No response. The cabin is pretty but needs better maintenance and cleaning.

Who doesn't enjoy riding on a little train through the forest? My kiddos loved it, and I had a lot…read moreof fun too! One of the best things about our short ride were all the deer. As we chug along the engineer throws corn out the side. I guess they have been doing this forever because tons of deer come right up to the train tracks as soon as they hear the train whistle. We probably saw 30 deer, including lots of babies. They literally come right up to the train, almost within touching distance. The engineer was super nice and good with the kids. The little train is open so try to go when it's not hot. He even hit the gas hard as we were going down a hill to give us a little speed. They also have horse trail rides, pony rides, and some food. Things are a little overpriced so we only ride the train but it was fun. Also, bathrooms are a little bit of a walk down the road. The train ride is about 15 minutes, which is a fine amount of time for what it is. I would recommend giving it a try if you are in town.
