Actually an amazing price for airport food and the pizza itself. The airport has iPad stations to order your drinks and food from each restaurant. Pala was nice and clean with inviting decor. Once I ordered the pizza I did not expect a whole full size pizza. Recommend this place if you're traveling in a group on a budget. I was alone so I had a lot of extra food. I got the meatball pizza and it was everything I expected it to be. Wish there was a Pala is every airport I'd definitely visit during my travels. Must try if you have time!!! read more

Hands down best airport dining experience I've had by far. LaToya was a fantastic waitress, kept checking on me and making sure I had everything I needed! My flight to SF got delayed by an hour so I had some time to sit down and eat. Originally I was a little nervous about time, but my waitress assured me I could get my food to go if I had to. The roasted cauliflower was excellent! It was a little underdone but the flavor was fantastic. I also got the meatball boli sandwich, which was pretty good as well, the meatball was juicy and flavorful. The dough was super crispy and flaky on top, but the bottom was still soft, so it would be great if they could make sure it's crispy throughout. One thing I'd say they could improve on is the side salad that came with the sandwich. It probably could have used about half as much dressing. They do use iPads to order, and while I have seen other reviews complain about them, I had no trouble at all ordering, tipping, and closing my tab. (Remember to close it when you're done!) Overall a great experience, I was not expecting to have such great service in an airport, and would definitely eat there again. Thanks LaToya! read more

I was enjoying my food until I saw the manager pop up and start putting cheese on pizza with his bare hands. The last time I saw him he was eating pizza outside of the kitchen. Only god knows if he even used hand sanitizer. Most of the cooks aren't wearing gloves, and I have a bit of hope that they've washed their hands, but to see a man come out of nowhere and put his hands all over peoples' food was mega nauseating. read more

Found a website that recommended this place. With a 3 hour layover because of changing flights, why not? We had the Saltimbocca pizza (on the left) and the Soppressata (on the right) both very good. As you can see, we each had one piece for leftovers (or to eat later while we continue to wait for our flight). The white sauce of the Saltimbocca was very tasty. We both added a salad ($5/each) and the kiddo had the kid's pepperoni pizza. The pizzas are about 14" or so and a hungry person (that's me) could pretty much eat the whole thing. As with any airport food, it was pricy (about $75 with the tip) but glad we made the trek over to Terminal C (Gate C5) to check it out. If you're hunkering pizza, give it a try! read more

They use with automated ordering on an iPad, which may sound innovative. The challenge is that the servers only show up to deliver your order. They NEVER come back to check and see if you need anything else ( due to automated ordering, there are fewer "live" staff members available to help you). Since you order on an iPad, there is no way to get someone's attention around the corner. I had to ask for a cutlery set up and napkin. The pizza and salad I ordered were ok, nothing I would have to have a repeat visit for though. Aha!! I just found on the iPad a way to call the server!! There is no way I would have imagined a restaurant could be this good in an airport. This would rival and totally eclipse several other pizza joints I've visited in Houston and elsewhere. The crust, the ingredients (half pepperoni and half Italian sausage with mushrooms all over is our deal), the service are all outstanding. Eat here. Eat here!! This is a quick service, quality ingredient bar, with Italian small plates (that are appropriate for Texas!), salads and pizza. We each got a pizza and finished it, eating only choice bits of the phenomenal brick-oven crusts (don't judge, I have been up for almost 30 hours with 10 more left, lol). Premium ingredients mean I don't feel like dirt after the pepperoni pie. My husband got meatball pizza. Definitely recommend! The pizza and pepperoni roll appetizer are excellent. The Sicilian pizza was great. Four dollar sodas with follow up arrive or refills was like getting punched in the face after you prepaid that tip for it. read more

This place is great! Can't believe how great the food and service are at this place. I travel a lot for my job and had low expectations of these more common airport restaurants where you order from an iPad, especially after traveling frequently to/from Newark airport where the food is often bad and overpriced (even for an airport), and the service is usually abysmal. So, to be here for a layover, have great, very tasty, and reasonably-prices food that was served quickly and hot was such a great experience! I had the shrimp and cannoli beans, the bruschetta and the asparagus, which were all very good. And, to have pleasant servers who smile and are attentive is the icing on the cake! Will definitely stop here again on future layovers. read more

Portions were huge. $12 for a margherita, a few dollars more for other pizzas. Pretty good deal for airport food. Kids pizzas are just $8 and the same size. They missed a couple of our items, but the pizzas were much bigger than we expected, so it was fine and we cancelled the ones they missed. It is all about the technology -- to be avoided! All this place needs are robots bringing the drinks to you to complete the totally impersonal, technology driven operation. And..... did I mention the technology is not intuitive and certainly not ready for prime time? Buyers beware. The "Tablet" ordering system is terrible. Everything must be done through the table and the system doesn't work. Beware of a couple of things: (1) Set a timer so the screen does not go dark. I went to "check out" and it said my cart was empty. When I asked what happened, I was told it timed out. Minor detail ... my card was charged but I had no way of checking the applied charges before leaving the bar. I guess you are just suppose to trust them. As a side note, the woman sitting next to me who obviously had a timer set noted that she was charged for a bottle of wine instead of a glass. (2) Since the bar is not really into human interaction or customer service, I had to ask the guy who was sitting next to me about the tip. He says .."oh, you didn't notice, they automatically apply an 18% tip when you initially swipe your card unless you override it." Well, I apparently missed that small detail and I cannot imagine what the 18% is for since their is NO personalized service. (3) I have been trying to follow up and at least get a copy of my receipt. So far, I have found no phone number to contact a human. You are sent to a web site where you can file for a receipt. (Obviously, a big problem for lots of people!) The site where you must log a lot of personal information is also unsecure. So, no thanks. I won't be filing for a receipt nor will I be returning. There has to be better options in the airport! Thank goodness I was surrounded by nice customers. read more

Looking for a quick bite in Houston airport for breakfast and found Pala. Ipad ordering was quick, servers were super friendly and the food was great. Ended up getting the breakfast pizza, and it was huge! One of the best breakfast items I've had in an airport. Highly recommend doing this if you're in C Terminal. Get the breakfast pizza! read more

I had some time kill at the Houston airport and chose Pala's as my victim.... Food was excellent (picked a pizza) and I was very impressed by the service I received. The pizza was very similar to a fire-crust pizza if you're familiar with their food. Jarrod (the server) did a great job attending to me and I was very impressed by his mannerisms in politely serving others as well as being able to cordially tell non-customers that it was for customers only. The tablet ordering approach worked well and they were fast to have my food out to me. 4 out of 5 stars easily. 5 star joints don't exist in mortality because that is to say it was PERFECT. I had such a lovely experience when my flight got delayed a few hours. Jeff Q was incredibly friendly and helped me through the ordering system. My pizza and salad came out a lot faster than I expected! Over the course of my time there, Jeff made me feel welcomed as we chatted about travel and trips. I noticed that he made a point to help each guest with their dinner selections/decisions and engage them in conversation making their experience a pleasant one as well. For work, I spend a lot of time in restaurants and bars and I was impressed with his level of service and hospitality. I don't know when I'll get a chance to go back to Pala but because of my experience I will definitely make a point to stop by if I am in that terminal again. read more

Currently having some of the best butternut squash around. Loving this airport respite while we wait for our flight home to California. Great pizza - and more importantly - a fantastic mojito. Not too sweet and super fresh mint and good rum. And our server rocks! Latoya is attentive but not intrusive. Ordered a margherita pizza and side salad, and after an hour of waiting, had to cancel because my flight was boarding. Three people who got there after me received their orders before I checked in after 40 minutes. The chef said it would be 4 minutes to me and to one other person who was asking about their order. The other person got their order in 5 minutes after that. I continued to wait for 15 more minutes before I gave up. The manager said my miles would be credited since I paid with United miles, but that hasn't happened. Craziest $32 to not get anything. read more

This place was great! I got a pizza and was sure that I was ordering a small, over-priced, "airport tasting" pizza. The pizza was amazing and it was huge. Jeff was the bartender and was great. I was worried that I would not find much on the menu, because I do not eat meat. Jeff pulled up a menu tailored specifically to vegetarian!
