Having just had a…read moreterrible experience with Barrett Jackson Auction in Scottsdale (impossible to sign up as an internet/phone bidder.) I had been looking for a Ford pick up F100 for some time. I wanted it restored and as original as possible. Not interested in a hot rod or modifications. Give me something out of the 1950 brochure. There she was this beautiful green Pick Up 1950 with 3 speed stick on the floor, 6 cylinders, wooden bed and a perfect interior. The pictures looked great and the process was slightly less so. I could not get anyone to call me back. Forget emails....nothing till I finally got through on the phone and they took me serious. I'm not into celebrities so I didn't feel the need to talk with Wayne and the sales manager that helped me sure seemed fine but the follow up was slow. The pictures and the description over the phone left me comfortable enough to buy the truck without a visit. Negotiations were simple and the price was reduced by about 8%. Shipping was carefully orchestrated and the truck came to my business. From there she went to the Cape. Owning a business on the Cape, had me putting the business logo on the side and she was well received in the community. She was so tall in the cab I couldn't fit her in the garage. I spent the summer moving from here to there for garaging. She ran as expected. The restoration (not done by F40) was good to a point. They scrimped on stainless steel parts that rusted quickly in the ocean air. But already replaced. So why not 5 stars. Simply follow up. In my business...it's everything.

Then, I noticed what looked like peeling on the hood and front of the car. The Toyota-applied clear coat was coming off , My car was starting to look so bad. A few people gave me names of local auto body shops No one wanted to touch my car because I had not been in an auto accident!! They explained their reasons to me, which of course, were all about money and insurance claims. I was, of course, going to pay for any work but, shame on me, I did not have an accident. Just wanted to fix to the clear coat and have effected areas of my car re-painted. Finally, I was given the name Brothers auto body in Cromwell. Problem solved! My car was beautifully repainted and new clear coat applied. It looks spectacular! No hesitation to give me a reasonable quote, no rejection because I did not have an accident. Just kind, professional treatment from all at Brothers. Special thanks to Sarah, Jacob and Brian for making this whole process run so smoothly. My Corolla carries with it some very special memories from the past. I will always do what I can to keep it running and looking as good as I can.

After having the truck for 2.5 weeks we picked it up after being told "the truck is safe, I would let my kids drive it". No sooner did we drive TWO MINUTES down the road the truck broke down. This was right after my son paid $1700 to have fixed. Called the shop and Ruben didn't care anymore he got his money. The other owner came and pulled the truck back to the shop. Long story short after two more times we took the truck . Halfway home the engine light was back on and the truck was leaking oil and tranny fluid. Brought it to the shop and they couldn't believe the work. Wrong radiator was used so they put connectors. They were leaking. The brake line was wrong and the list goes on. THE BIGGES THING.... THE WELDING WAS COMPLETELY UNSAFE. IF MY SON HIT 3 LARGE BUMPS THE TRUCK WOULD HAVE FALLEN APART! we kept them posted and they asked for a receipt. No problem. It was provided and that was it....they have ignored us. We posted a Google review and they deleted it. They are awful! We are now going to take them to smalls claims court and are reporting them to DMV AND the department of consu.er protection. DONT DO BUSINESS. HERE.

So here I am over 1300 down and in need of a new car. I feel incredibly stupid for trusting Portland automotive to listen to me as a customer. They clearly either don't know how to correctly assess a cars damage or they do know and take peoples money anyway. 1.) Hometown garage is cheaper 2.) Hometown garage actually listens to the customer. All together you get better service. Do not go to this automotive shop.
