Grew up going to this store since their original two locations. Great educators for new comers. Not the best of prices but their selection and service makes up for it and it's nice to visit a standing store rather than blindly shopping online in which paintball stores are not at all common. Getting back into the sport after some years and am glad to see paintball Ohio/splatter park are still around. Reside in Kentucky where there is no paintball so when I visit Columbus again it's always a treat. Judging by other reviews on here it seems to be a staffing problem which you can't completely judge a whole store for. Hope my man "crazy eyes" is still there. Great guy! read more

i do not recommend this place. im assuming the owner working there because i doubt it brings in any money anyways is a real a**hole. prices are ridiculous anyways, trust me do not go here. wish i could select a zero star it was that bad!! I get my Sodastream cartridges refilled at Paintball Ohio, and the customer service is always excellent. Their store also does CO2 refills on kegerators and aquariums so they're no strangers to CO2 refills that are "clean enough to drink from." The refills are super cheap. There was a one-time charge for changing the proprietary nozzle on my Sodastream cartridge so that it would be refillable with a conventional CO2 tank, but even accounting for that nozzle swapout fee, my first visit to Paintball Ohio was just $5 more than swapping out my Sodastream bottle at Staples/Target/Costco. And the subsequent refills are so cheap that by your second visit to Paintball Ohio, you're saving hand over fist compared to the conventional Sodastream swapout process. The store is always tidy and well stocked. I don't play paintball, but I often overhear the employees helping other customers. The employees clearly know their stuff and enjoy helping customers navigate the extensive store inventory. I've been waited on by the store owner, Tommy, and he's always very helpful and professional. None of the employees have pushed me to buy any of the paintball stuff, and they never make me feel like a second-class customer for not being a "paintball person." They do have a nice camping and survival section, and I occasionally buy stuff from that section. read more

Good place to get CO2 and air refills, but some things are very over priced. I needed a new CO2 o-ring and was asked if I wanted a 3, 5, or 10 pack. I opted for the 5 pack and was charged $4.95 for 5 unpackaged o-rings. I can't believe someone would sell an unpackaged loose o-ring for $0.99 each and not mention that price to the customer (I would have bought just the one I needed and gotten 25 from Amazon for $4). Also, the guy that refilled my C02 also doesn't seem to understand that CO2 can exist as a liquid (under high pressure) at room temperature (as it does in our canisters after they sit at room temperature). That was fine, but he acted like I was a moron for commenting on how cold his refill was and quizzed me on the temperature at which CO2 gas condenses to a liquid at atmospheric pressure (which does not apply to a high pressure canister). Bad first experience; visited planning to drop $$$ on elaborate set of paintball equipment and wasn't even acknowledged, after walking around for ~10minutes. It's not recommended to give airsoft/tactical soliloquies, when you have several customers in the store. At least acknowledge them, if you're going to filibuster business away. read more

I was really excited when I saw that this store refils the Sodastream cartridges for dirt cheap. But beware of the hidden fees and rules!!! Hidden detail/fee #1: For the first time you go in to get your Sodastream tank/cartridge refilled, you will most likely need a valve replaced. This plus the cost of refilling the tank with CO2 can cost you as much if not more than simply swapping it out at your local big box retailer. I didn't really think anything of this because I was told this was a "one time only fee". Hidden detail/fee #2: I refilled my tank sucessfully 2 other times. Then, I went in to get it refilled again. It was at that time I was informed that if the tank/cartridge is over 5 years old, they cannot refil it until you have it tested at a place in Hilliard for a $20 fee. This fact SHOULD have been presented to me when I came in initially and asked them to please give me all the details about this refil program. I totally understand that they have to adhere to their state guidelines, but, again, I specifically asked at the beginning for all the details. More than the hidden details and fees, what I was most disappointed by was how their employees handled customer service. When I was told about the 5 year rule, I was suprised, and I questioned what this was all about. The employee behind the counter was rude and condescending even to the point of counting off on his fingers the various years to show that they added up to 5. I am not an idiot, and I can count. This was rude and his overall tone was absolutely unprofessional. I decided after I had time to think about it that, rather than just give up on this place, I would give the manager a chance to handle the situation. I called and explained what happened and how this experience made me feel. This manager was simply more of the same. I told him that I had been recommending his store to my friends (many of whom are very big into the Airsoft world), but after today's experience, I was not sure I could continue to do that. His reply? He accused me of making the whole thing up. He did not offer to help me and said that I should have come and talked to him when I was in the store. I offered to turn around and come talk to him now, and he accused me of threatening him. I was flabbergasted! As a small business owner myself, I cannot imagine EVER treating one of my clients with such incredible disrespect! I am amazed that with this flagrant lack of customer service that this establishment is still in business! Bottom line: Pay the money and go to Bed Bath and Beyond, because you will honestly come out ahead in the end both in price and with customer service. read more

Very rude staff. Not willing to educate public. Attitude as though they are better that those that are not as educated in the world of paintball or airsoft. Manager not able to take negative comments concerning staff and professionalism. It's a place that is operated by management and staff that are not good with customer relations or good business ethics. Great experience buying from them and great prices. I was planning on ordering a good chunk of my gear online but seeing how competitive their prices are (plus the fact that these guys are also amazon sellers), buying in store will always save you money. Staff is pretty cool to talk to and funny, as well as have really good advice when addressing questions had by me as a player who's been in the field for a few years but just now starting to take my scenario loadout seriously. My first experience at Paintball Ohio was outstanding. I was greeted by Matt who was very knowledgable and helpful. He assisted me with my outdated Guerrilla Air remote coil. He went above and beyond by even offering to replace the universal fill adapter which had broken seals. I recommend this store to anyone with paintball needs. read more

Great experience. Based on previous reviews it looks they might have had some staff problems in the past, but the service I received was excellent. I came in to fill a new paintball-sized tank and my soda-stream tank. Luckily, I have one of the older model soda stream tanks that can be filled without an adapter. Since the tank is old it will either need to be discarded or re-tested later this year. The employee explained all of this to me and even gave me a map to the place where I can get my canister re-certified. He answered all of my questions very courteously and filled both tanks. Generally fairly good folks. However, avoid their "Wrek" branded paintballs. I had three bad experiences last year with their paint and after the first two of them the staff was like "Eh, it happens." Having played paintball since the mid 90's these folks have been a staple, but with the recent changes in the industry (serious reduction in players, fields, brands, etc) they seem a bit outdated. Their website has different prices than their store, though you can place your order for "In-store-pickup", but be prepared to wait a day or two (not the end of the world, but something to consider if you have a game coming up!) Their name brand paint is at reasonable prices so feel free to stock up, again just not on their brand! read more
