These BOOTS will break your ankle just PUTTING YOUT FOOT IN!…read more Show up. Say I just need boots for skiing at Matt River Mountain. Looks like a guy 28 and above takes me over to size my foot. Largest foot is 27.5 cm right to the edge of my toe so they assume that type of boot is gonna fit me. The days of REAR ENTRY boots that are easy to pull it on in easy to get off. I've gone on the way to the dinosaur in these DIABLO RACING BOOTS, are quite impossible to get your foot in without breaking your ankle. Especially when they're two sizes too small and make your FEET go NUMB, and the blood freezes in your foot in the boot. I was lucky to get my feet out of the boot much less follow them over the next 10 minutes, even though I barely even clamped them down. Someone needs to teach these kids sizing over again and basically the problem is the boots are horrifically uncomfortable. Maybe they're pliable when they're in the 90° showroom where you sweat in your ski clothes and you should just show up in a T-shirt like the teenagers, but when you get them out of your car and drive all the way to the ski hill and it's freezing out there they don't flex as easily as they do in the showroom. I brought them back and told him of this horrific experience that almost broke both my ankles, they didn't give me a credit. They didn't do anything except for Marc me and tell me I was pretty much stupid for not pulling the tongue out harder and twisting it to the side, which they failed to show me upfront in the showroom how to do it. Not a good experience. Not impressed. Waiting for a phone call to get rid of this one star we'll see if they even addressed it. It looks like they haven't addressed any of the other ones to get them off of Yelp. If you don't want a broken ankle, I wouldn't let them rent you Diablo boots

The prices match the nearby Marshall's and TJ Maxx, obviously. But you can find some deals. I always check out the pet area for treats and toys. You can also find Darn Tough socks sometimes. The wait in line usually isn't too bad. The last time I was there, November 2024, a guy stocking shelves was coughing loudly over the products.

When I was in the outdoor industry and needed new gear, STP was one of the first websites I'd check for gear. Even when my wife was an employee at a competing outdoor retailer (where I got a discount) I was still shopping online at STP. When I found out they were building a brick and mortar store here in Columbus I was beyond thrilled! As it is part of the TJX companies it still means that the store is a gamble when it comes to brands and sizes found. However, it makes a great starting point as you can easily search their site to see if there are other sizes, colors, etc available. Don't have a tiny pocket computer (aka a smart phone)? There's no need to fret! In store they even have a kiosk where you can search their online stock. My only real dislike of the physical store is that as of right now they do not accept the countless coupons that come to my email address. This may change soon as an employee recently told me that they would start honoring them. Until then, I will still order the bulk of my purchases from the website so I can use the frequent STP coupons. With the store so close it's super easy to return to the store with no hassle. This is extremely helpful when ordering shoes online as some outdoor brands use variations of European sizing that allow for greater fit specification. Recently I ordered two pairs of a boot to see if they would work for my job. Having a low volume super narrow foot they did not but, with the painless returns it was no problem. I even lucked out and found the perfect pair in store!

My son is incredibly particular... he knows exactly what he wants, how it should feel, and what he won't settle for. Joey handled all of that like an absolute pro. His knowledge of the gear was next level, his patience was unmatched, and his sense of humor kept the whole process fun instead of stressful. You can tell when someone genuinely loves what they do, and Joey is one of those people. He took the time to explain every detail, answer every question, and make sure my son walked out with the perfect fit. When you're spending real money on equipment, it's refreshing to work with someone who is not only skilled, but also personable, honest, and genuinely invested in helping you get it right. Joey is a gem, and Valleywood is lucky to have him. If you're shopping for ski or snowboard gear, do yourself a favor and go see him. You can trust this place.

It's challenging to go anywhere with 2-4 kids and find patient and knowledgeable staff that take the time to work through everyone's needs but we have hit the mother load within Valleywood. This shop isn't the hard sale kind of place. The goal I notice every time in is to get us into the right gear. That has consisted of new gear, used gear and occasionally online gear sent to the shop for setup to fit our needs. If you want a shop that is there for you and your family look no further than Valleywood. Yuri the owner is amazing as well and greets us like family whenever Zach is out on the slopes. Get with these guys and get ready for an awesome 23' season

Now they're telling us all the boards are out and we just have to wait around for people to return theirs. Our daughter had a great 2‑hour lesson, and it was wonderful watching her confidence grow. Nicole brought her own snowboard, and I borrowed my father‑in‑law's skis--felt like a true family outing from the start. Even though the weather was warm and rainy, it didn't take away from the fun. We still enjoyed cruising down the hills together and making the most of the day. I needed a fresh pair of ski socks, and the ski shop had exactly what I needed--comfortable, warm, and ready for the slopes. Around noon we headed into the lodge and grabbed lunch by the fireplace. Sitting by the hearth with everything warm and toasty was such a cozy break. We enjoyed hot chocolate, a Miller Lite, honey hot tenders with fries, a bowl of chili, and a cheeseburger--everything hit the spot. We're wrapping up the day with a few more runs, and honestly, it's been the perfect mix of family time, fresh air, and winter fun. Mad River Mountain made it easy to enjoy the experience, rain and all. Highly recommend for families looking to make great memories together.

Buckeye Sports Center - Shame on you!!!…read more Saturday of last week I went to Buckeye Sports Center to pickup my skis that were being tuned and to pickup another set of older skis that I attempted to sell at their annual ski swap. My older skis did not sell and I needed to pick them up. I was late picking up my skis as a result of my Father's illness, death and funeral. Buckeye Sports Center informed me that because I was late picking up my skis from the ski swap that I was not entitled to the return of my skis or the 200 dollars that I was attempting to sell them for (for which I was to receive store credit). Please note that Buckeye Sports still had plenty of other skis in back remaining to be picked up, they just for a very odd reason did not have my skis. I gave my return ticket to the store clerk and he stated that their records indicated that someone had already picked up my skis. My response was, "well clearly you gave my skis to the wrong person." The clerk responded, "how do we know that" - implying that I was lying to him. Please note that I have been a customer of Buckeye Sports for several decades and as recently had 4 pairs of skis tuned by them. I asked the clerk to review the situation with the owner of Buckeye Sports who was in back and he did. The owner did not have the respect, nor the character, to speak directly with me and instructed the clerk to tell me that there was nothing ownership was willing to do. Thereby callously disregarding why I was late picking up the skis and completely ignoring the fact that the reason why the skis were not there was because his employees made a mistake and gave my skis to another customer who had similar skis. Mistakes happen, but there is no excuse for Buckeye Sports' poor treatment of me as their customer and unwillingness to correct the mistake that was made by their staff member. Needless to say, I will never shop at Buckeye Sports. Their actions yesterday demonstrate bad business practices and even worse business ethics.
