I'd give this store less than one star if I could. Normally the selection is pretty good. However this past Saturday I was shopping for shoes for my 8 yr old granddaughter. DSW Polaris didn't have a single pair of girls size 4 shoes on the rack. Not a single pair. That was bad enough then we used the restroom. DON'T use the ladies room w/o bio hazard coveralls and booties on. It hasn't seen a cleaning in at least 6 months. I'm talking walls, floors, toilet bases, under the sinks etc. It's just disgusting. If the store manager can find a vacuum cleaner for the back hallway carpet it would be helpful. I'm sure I won't be going back. I'll switch to the Easton location. read more

This is a large shoe store with lots of shoes but I don't think my wife and I (retired) are part of their target demographic. Their selection (both men's and women's) were geared towards a younger, more casual demographic than us. In the men's department, there were rows of casual shoes (tennis, running, sandals, clogs, etc.), lots of boots and some dress shoes -- but little in the way of a plain casual/semi-dress style shoe. For the ladies, again there were rows of of casual shoes (tennis, running, sandals, clogs, etc.), lots of boots and some dress shoes -- but little in the way of basic mid-heel pumps. I came here looking for a particular boot that their website claimed they had in stock. Thankfully I was going to be in the area so I made a pit stop to see and try them on. I arrived to find plenty of parking, an organized and well stocked store, as well as friendly and helpful customer service. They did in fact have the boot I was looking for and my size was available, which was freakin' awesome. The location has a W Nail bar inside. Love them and it's cool to see a local business inside a large chain. They also still have social distancing guidelines in place and most employees and shoppers had masks on. I thought the "D" stood for "discount," and I was disappointed in the prices. But seeing it means "designer," it makes more sense. It is indeed a warehouse- it's so big we barely saw a quarter of it. Pretty busy on a Saturday. We found Baby K some clearance shoes- Adidas, so pricey to begin with, and knowing she will outgrow them in a month or so... But she needs shoes, and our last cheap ones didn't hold up. Selection is very good. Plenty of styles and sizes. They also had some non-shoe stuff, like handbags, backpacks, etc. Service was good. Horrible customer service over the phone. They do not have the product they say they have in stock in store. They say they will not charge your card until you have picked up your order but they still do and then they say they can't do anything about that and you have to call customer service to get that amount that they should've never charged you with removed. They won't automatically give you back the money even though they canceled your order. Holly and Nicole are pathetic. read more

I am a huge DSW fan and like that the Polaris store is a test location for new product. I like that they added a nail beauty bar in the back of the store. It is fun, elegant looking, and was hopping with customers getting their nails done. I am not fond of the new high shelving. One of the things I liked about the store was that you were able to look out over a "sea" of shoes. Now you have to wander down each aisle to see the selection. The clearance racks are a must see each time you visit the store. There are usually some great deals to be found there, and some really different shoes to try on for fun. There is plenty of staff on hand to help answer and questions, and check out is usually fast. read more

I'm not the hugest fan of this DSW store because everytime I come in either I get bad customer service or someone has just stolen something from the store. I was here yesterday and I had to get the manager to talk to me because the store associates couldn't help me pick out a simple running shoe. This is not the only time they've been this way I remember this time last year I had my brother's wedding and I ran into the same issue here where they were unwilling to help me and I had to exchange my shoes the day before the wedding which was almost a disaster. I have chosen to shop at the Dublin and Easton locations now just for the better service and they always seem to have the shoes I want there instead of the Polaris location. You'd think being a DSW rewards member that comes in often the service would be good but I guess not here. It's simple decision now, I have just chosen to stop coming to this location and will shop at their other stores. read more

(Clearance) But we came out with the shoes, socks and a free bag all for the price of the original price of the shoes. When we got the free bag we had a choice of Black or Red. I always find quality men's shoes at a discounted price at DSW. Sure you could buy sneakers or dress shoes at a cheaper place but I like my shoes to last and be comfortable. It's not necessarily a cheap place, I usually pay $80-$100 for shoes here, but it's quality craftsmanship that I appreciate. read more

I'm already salivating thinking about my next pair of shoes :) DSW has a gazillion pairs, most of which I wanna take home and stack knee high in one of three closets dedicated to SHOES! I remember telling a friend (who mainly lived in black, faded to grey, Chucks, but had a mild form of shoe fetish himself) that I was gonna buy more shoes when he said, "I come to your house and all I do is fall over shoes, and you need more why"? Oh snap, who needs a reason why? I agree with other reviewers who say the prices are close to department stores, but, yes, the selection here is awesome. Every manner of boot, sportier shoes, try the shoes made by Jeep,( yes, the car co.) pretty cool and functional, to sexy to flirty. I wanna frame a pair of 3 1/2 inch cork, cherry red, patent leather peep-toes! The selection of really hot ankle and above boots are awesome! The customer service is spot on, the clerks are throughout the store and visible if you need help, and will go the extra mile to check in back or on-line if they are out of a specific shoe. The store is well lit and organised. Sign up for customer rewards and receive $$ off future visits. I was able to get a darling pair of Yellow Box sandals for $13 that way. This is a shoe junkie's paradise. Sign up for the rewards program, bring your credit card, leave your man at home,(although I read somewhere that shoe shopping with your man was a form of foreplay :) and be prepared to shop! read more

This is the biggest freakin DSW I have ever been in (and I've been in quite a few)! When I first walked in I couldn't not get over the enormity of the place nor the big huge flashing ala disco ball DSW letters in the back of the store. I said if there is a dance floor back there I'm out of here! Friendly staff, huge selection, prices can vary from really good to "aw c'mon that is NOT a discount" and all points in between. Sometimes you can find real gems in there (like the time they had a decent selection of Uggs) but most of the time it seems to me to be a bunch of 'whatshisname' brand shoes. And leave us not forgot the clearance racks in the back. That can be an adventure all by itself. Make sure you sign up for their rewards card. As you shop and the points add up - you get sale emails and coupons for money off future shoes. Score!! read more

Price and selection is always good and the coupons always help inspire. My last visit service was exceptional. It was a Saturday and as I parked more customers pulled in, it was busy. I was greeted immediately at the door then while shopping an employee came by to see if I needed help. She answered some questions then placed items on hold for me without needing to go to the registers. I wound up making a small purchase and needed to add some items to that hold. The line at the registers was long but every register had a cashier and it went quickly. They let me hold for a week! As I left someone was at the door to thank me for my purchase. Best visit yet! The only thing I didn't care for was the new taller display and storage shelves that are all over the sales floor, more merchandise in the store but I can't find my shopping companions as easily. read more

I was in desperate need of a new pair of tennis shoes yesterday and this place isn't too far from my house so I decided to stop by. I like that its a stand alone store so I do not have to walk through a large mall to get what I came for. It is easy to get in and out of with a large parking lot out front. The staff was helpful without being too aggressive which I like. Prices I'd say are comparable to most other shoe stores as far as tennis shoes go. I can not say about others since I did not shop for them. The store is open and spacious with a large selection of every kind of shoe you would need. When I picked out my pair and got to the check out line I realized I forgot my money at home. The clerk was nice and held my shoes back for me. What is nice about this location is you can make a whole day of your shoe shopping experience because in the back of the store is also a nail salon. There is also a spot in the front of the store for pop ups. When I was there it was a pop up flower bar where you can make your own arrangements. They also have an in store cobbler for all your shoe repair needs. read more

I've always been a huge fan of DSW! The Polaris location has always been a favorite too. I do have to say I am NOT a fan of the new design and layout. It looks very cluttered and junky. The high shelves were difficult to reach and boxes were just thrown up there. You could tell others must have been frustrated as well because boxes were laying on the floor as well. I hate to say it but it wasn't a relaxing or enjoyable experience. I left there and went to the sawmill location and felt a lot more relaxed!! I do hope that they reconsider this concept for other stores. read more

i wear converse sneakers. that's it. So when a job opportunity presented itself and required i wear 5-inch heels, I knew one place that would have what I needed. DSW. Being in such close proximity to the Polaris Mall you'd think the place would be packed. Not so much. I was able to take off my well worn chucks and slip into ridiculously cute yet not too expensive heels. (And at 5'10'' no doubt!) I'll say this: They had enough pairs for me to try on such that I went walking out with a few pair that fit like a dream and weren't difficult at all to walk in. Tell me ladies (and you fabulous men) when does that ever happen!?! Kudos to DSW (This location in particular) for making shoe shopping a fun, relaxing experience. I love this location!!!! I always have a good experience here. I can't think of one time I didn't find what I was looking for. I can't speak for the selection of women's shoes but the men's section seems to always have plenty of options I like. On my recent trip I made sure to check the clearance section before making any final decisions. I'm a self-proclaimed terrible shopper but even EYE(I) managed to find 3-4 options in my size for an excellent price. Last year I signed up for the rewards program so I always get coupons in the mail/email and notifications about any sales they have going on. Tip: You can also return online orders in-store! One of these days I will get around to checking out the other locations but this one is great for me so I haven't felt the need yet. read more

I love shopping at DSW but what they have done to their Polaris location is not good. The layout is very difficult to navigate and looks like a bargain basement store to me. I did not enjoy shopping there at all. The store used to be so nice. It seems like they are trying to look like a bargain outlet. I'm not sure the thought behind it. Maybe it is to compete with Amazon and the havoc they are inflicting on brick and mortar stores but it makes me sad. read more

Once again, customer service and professionalism is very important to me. This location is accross the street from where I work. I stopped by to see if I could locate those slippers that they sell now that are to replace your shoes temporarily if your feet hurt from high heels. (previously diacovered at CVS) I wasnt sure what they were called, but I explained what I wanted to 2 cashiers loud and clear, simultaneously (they were not with any customers). Even with their little headsets, no one was willing to physically help me locate something that they weren't even sure that they had. As I was explaining what I wanted, I pointed down to my aching feet with the shoes half off. They suggested I walk all the way to the back of the store where I might be able to find what I was looking for in a pink box? What?! Needless to say, I didn't find what I was looking for, and the fact that I wasted steps with aching feet did not make me any happier. I went to Walgreens 2 blocks away & found what I needed. read more

I'm not a shoes girl. I honestly don't understand the way people get when it comes to shoes but, I imagine they also wouldn't understand my obsession with cute pajamas or kitchen gadgets. Needless to say, I hate shopping for shoes but, needed some new slip resistant shoes for working in a kitchen and I needed them fast. I hate paying the high shipping charges to get things quickly delivered online so instead I looked in five different stores before finally going over to DSW. I walked in and instantly felt a little overwhelmed, asked some guy where to find some slip resistant work shoes and he told me they only have three pairs that are slip resistant. He was really nice and I did find a good pair of comfortable shoes that look nice enough for what I'll be using them for but, I was hoping this place would have a little more of a selection than only three different shoes. Seems like this place would be a dream for girls who love their heels and fashion shoes but, for girls like me this is no dream store. read more

I had two very good experiences at DSW today! First, I was at the Easton location trying to find a pair of heels for an event I'm going to. I found two pairs I liked but one wasn't in my size, so I went up to the front desk to see if they could check for my size. The associate, Jo, checked to make sure and when she said they didn't, I asked if she could check the Polaris location for me. She called and they put the shoe on hold for me. It took her a while to check their inventory and to call Polaris for me, so I was very grateful for her to take the time and be helpful when I know she had other people to attend to as well. When I got to Polaris, they had my shoes waiting for me, so I took them to try on and to browse their other options incase they had different variety than their Easton location. I found the exact pair I had purchased (full price) at Easton earlier, on clearance at the Polaris location! I passed by an associate and asked her if there was any way that they would honor the clearance price for me on my shoes I had already purchased, as they didn't have my size in stock for that price. I wasn't expecting much when I asked but the associate, Karen, said that she would price match it for me! I figured it was a long shot, but worth asking, and I was so happy that she was able to do that! It ended up saving me $15 in the difference. Overall, I love the shoes DSW offers and today I was very pleased by my experiences at both locations. They always have cute options and run promotions often. read more

The store is clean enough. It is a warehouse store, so don't go in there expecting personal service and people to be waiting on you, if you want that kind of service keep driving to the mall and pay more. The one thing that frustrates me the most is that I have found MANY times the exact same shoe, same size, no discernible difference, but one will be marked as clearance and another pair is not. I also dislike how they mark up the price to mark it down in the clearance section. It is not at all uncommon to find a section of one style of shoe on the sales floor for $50 and then go to the clearance section and find the same shoes marked as 50% off $100. I think that is dishonest. So always scope the whole place out and check the clearance too. read more
