I had read from previous posts that the theater had been moved to Jeanne Jugan Lane in Latham, NY part of the Ashfield Apartments and was very surprised at how very nice the place was. It is a small maybe 100 seats or so, elevated comfortable cushioned modern theater with no obstructed views. There was also an entrance area that sold wine, beer, coffee and cake before the show and at intermission. The show lasted about 1hr 15 min with a 15 minute intermission. I personally thought it was an enjoyable evening for a small town theater.

An Allstar Cast! Evan Jay Newman shines as Valli!…read more Jersey Boys was brought to life by a phenomenal cast and crew at Capital Repertory Theatre! As I looked beside me I could see couples holding hands who were being magically transported back to their first time seeing the Four Seasons. Evan Jay Newman lit up the stage as Frankie Valli and delivered a performance I can only describe as magical. What a fabulous triple-threat performer! Watching Newman, and well as Justin Scott Brown as Tommy Devito, Brian Michael Henry as Nick Massi, and Jeffrey Kringer as Bob Gaudio brought Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons to Albany right before our eyes. Shannon Rafferty delivered some of my favorite lines in the show as Mary Del Gaudio, and Kyle Garvin had me smiling so many times as multiple characters! And, Nick Anastasia as Joe Pesci was a Riot!!! The singing was superb, the acting we could feel in our souls, and the show as a whole I'll be fondly remembering with a smile for years to come. I can't wait to become a subscriber at this theatre as start seeing all the amazing performances they have to offer. Don't Miss Jersey Boys!!!!

As a theater person, I LOVE to see these spaces redone and used for the arts community. This place is an asset to downtown Albany and I am excited to go back next year and see Once on This Island on the mainstage.

They do things differently there…read more If you happen to be in this very busy part of central Albany, perhaps getting an amazing Gyro from My Gyro Station, or a Falafel/Shawarma Pita sandwich from Mamoun's, you will instantly notice the massive, dominant, haunting, imposing structure across the street, just the way you see it in the rainy picture I posted. The Armory, for me, is the most spectacular sight in Albany. Partly because of the way it looks and dominates the area with its sheer size, but partly because it's in an area full of shops and people and traffic, and really stands out from all the typical downtown hustle and bustle, rather than being tucked away somewhere. It's right on a major intersection. It give Albany a lot of character and is well worth checking out. Definitely a 5-star attraction. And if you fall in love with a French girl here (probably from Montreal), then that's very Amoury.

We attended "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder!" on opening night. I think it may have been…read moreonly the second or third live opera performance we've ever attended. The fact that it was in English, a comedy, and at a venue that we have been wanting to check out (Universal Preservation Hall), is what drew us to purchase tickets. The cast were all excellent, not only as singers, but also as actors. Each was able to portray their individual role quite realistically. There were a couple of comical mishaps that I was unable to decide if they were planned, or truly unexpected but well covered by the performer (e.g., loss of a mustache). Not to take anything away from the singers, I found it more difficult at times to understand what the female singers were saying during their higher ranges, but that may just be a function of my personal hearing. The approximately ten-piece orchestra was excellent. The choreography and use of the former church's layout was taken advantage of to its maximum. The physical setup of the seating is mostly good. Any seat in the balcony has a totally unobstructive view. Stadium seats on the main floor are also unobstructed and closer to the stage. It is a few of the rows of seats on the main floor along the sides of the stage that may have some obstructive views if the patrons sitting in the row in front of you interfere with your view. We definitely will consider attending future performances by Opera Saratoga when they are held at UPH.

As an 2nd generation Italian American, I learned so much about not only my culture but other languages and regions in Italy. This museum is covered with pictures and information. All items have been donated from families all over the country this is how they sustain the existence of the museum. In total there are 10 rooms plus an upstairs, that's an event center. Everyone that works here is a volunteer and this includes the thrift shop and bridal boutique that are connected to it financially. Overall my experience was amazing!
