After a brief meditation the class mindlessly painted to some wonderful music and enjoy Debbie's musings. When all the paint was spent, our works of art we read not only by Debbie, but other intuitive class members. The artwork created in my class was nothing short of miraculous. I'm in awe. We paid for this class at Glen Ivy and she said pick any color you want and just paint whatever you want! Ummmmm that's not what we paid for. I could go to Michaels and get a canvas for $4 and do this by myself at home with all the wine I want - not just one glass at Glen Ivy. Sorry...not my favorite. Glen Ivy should specify that this is a free for all with no instruction whatsoever. At the end, she "read" our paintings which is sweet but a little oddly "mystical" for me. I didn't sign up for a psychiatry class. Anyway, she was a lovely lady, but please be aware that her style is opposite of all the painting classes out there. (Oh, and her husband or assistant came along but slept for most of the class which is hilarious because that's sort of how I felt too.) I should also mention that her class only lasted 30 minutes and she practically forced us to stop. Most painting and wine classes are about 2-3 hours. one star for the wine and one star for her kindness.

She brought everything day of from table cloths to aprons, and all the painting supplies. We had a large group of 16 very excited 6-7yr old girls so they were a lot to calm down so they could hear the instructions. But they had sooo much fun and were very proud of their designs! The design we did was perfect for their age and skill level and fit within the timeframe we wanted to finish in. I walked by a few kids during the event saying "this is so much fun!" I would highly recommend for kids or adults! But if you have a large group of littles like me, just know you should be hands on to help with their focus or anything else so Stephanie can focus on the lesson! She did walk around and help but we had a large group and I think it was helpful we had a couple parents walking around to keep us on our timeline!

His shop has been a…read morelovely place to get comfortable with woodworking and gain foundational knowledge, like learning how to calculate / measure correctly, how to use the tools, choosing appropriate woods, etc. I've appreciated that he puts a lot of emphasis on safety and proper technique when using the machinery. I end up feeling more confident with using the tools, with knowing how to avoid accidents. Dennis makes the class environment a comfortable and nice place to hang out. There's creative energy all about. I look forward to going each week and seeing what projects the other students are up to or chatting with him. He's not only a great instructor but also so easy and friendly to talk to! Dennis' enthusiasm for woodworking and old tools will quickly rub off on you. It's a great balance between a structured class curriculum and freedom to customize your projects. I've since discovered that going to the lumber yard and choosing woods feels a little like being a kid in a candy store. It's so much fun to do something hands on and design / build your own furniture. I highly recommend the Wood Work Shop to anyone looking up to pick up woodworking.

This is my second time attending one of Max's paint parties and it won't be my last. These events are a great way to break away from everyday stresses and meet up with friends for drinks, food and a fun couple hours of painting and laughs. I'm far from an artist and I know just about nothing when it comes to painting in general but with Max's instruction and laughs from friends, my once blank canvas turns in to a damn masterpiece! I'm always impressed and it's always a good time. I suggest everyone give it a try. read more

In the communication leading up to the party, Max was always responsive to every text or email and never left me wondering what the answer to my question or concern may be. Everyone was very welcoming. They do parties and private events. They sell art supplies as well as various artistic products throughout the store. Best part was the kids were able to bring in their supplies and use art space free of charge with no rush or pressure to buy anything or get in and get out, all because we had our own supplies! I tried a couple of times because I really wanted my son to have a nerf war party... didn't end up booking them because I could not get a hold of them Fast forward a year later, we got invited to a nerf war party at a local park. When I asked for a business card, I found out it's these guys who my friend had booked through. Cool cool, maybe the owner forgot to get back to me... maybe it was bad timing. I saved their contact information in my phone and forgot about them Recently, my son started asking me about having a nerf gun party again. He mentioned he had so much fun at his friend's party 2 years ago... so from a party standpoint, I would give them a sold 5 stars I reached out to them recently. I called, left a message, texted two different numbers (one from my contact list and one from the website) and it's been a couple of weeks.... Crickets. I wouldn't recommend Brooklyn Dance Academy to a friend. My daughter was enrolled in the 2 year old…read moreSaturday morning class at 10a. I wouldn't recommend BDA for the following reasons: 1. The kids practice the same exact thing every weekend, same songs, same dances, with no variety at all. I would expect some sort of lesson plan that repeats every 2/4 weeks or something of the sort. After some time my daughter was no longer engaged in the classes and didn't even want to go to dance class because it wasn't exciting or engaging. 2. For months the classes would start 5/10 minutes late and end 5 minutes early. This was quite frustrating considering it was only a 30 minute class. I spoke to the owner about this issue and classes started to last 25 minutes instead. However, I would expect this to be the standard, not something that's only corrected with complaint. 3. Classes are canceled on short notice, today with less than an hour notice to class start time (and rather frequently). Yes a make up class is allowed mid week but some of us can't make class during weekdays. 4. Myself and a few other people arrived 15 minutes early for their first class only for no one to be at the front desk to help. I personally spoke with the owner the week of my daughter's first class and she said she would be in to help with the process. She was no where to be found and parents were calling the owner to figure out how to help onboard us. No hard feelings here, I just expect more professionalism and will continue elsewhere if my daughter would like to participate in dance again.

The classes are only $35 for a few hours, which included what I needed as far as paint and brushes and everything. I've referred a few friends and family members and now we are all artists!
