They told me I had a leaking valve cover on my engine. Even though I brought my car there for an oil change 1 month prior. Never been serviced by anyone else than the Chevy Dealer so I thought this was very worrying that this was not caught nor had I been told at the oil change that this was a problem. Weirdly that oil change was given for free as a 2 for 1 deal since I went in with my significant other. I decided to ignore them and just watch the oil. Went to get my next oil change back at the dealership and they actually said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was wrong other than some air filters. Very odd! Anyways watch out for their additional recommendations. Also check their work. -Dr. Fuentes Hey guys! I went to autopro back in June. I went in for a battery cause I knew I needed one. I went to another mechanic who charged me $350 to fix the same issue. The other mechanic diagnosed the problem with my description of the issue and wouldn't have charged me $165 for the diagnoses. I'm not sure why there was such a price discrepancy. Perhaps they tried to scam me (as I'm not a car person and I don't know better) or their prices are simply outrageous. Either way, I won't be going back.

When I reconnected the battery, I didn't tighten the terminals properly, so just as I parked my car at the dealership, the battery died. I left 2 separate messages to 2 separate mechanics AND told in person a service rep, that the battery was drained but all it needed was to be tightened and recharged. The dealer "tested" the battery, confirmed it was "dead" (duh), and proceeded to tell me I needed a new battery (for almost $400) and a diagnostics (for nearly $200). Knowing perfectly well what the issue was, I refused and had my car towed to Steve's instead (I have AAA) where Shaun and Jordan simply left a trickle-charger connected over the weekend and now the car runs just fine. And I was charged nothing! What a class act! I will never go to a VW dealer again, ESPECIALLY not VW of Ann Arbor. If you have a European car, just go to Steve's and save yourself from being robbed by a stealership.

Their quote was 20% lower than the BMW dealer had quoted me. I am most impressed with how quickly they responded to my inquiry and offered a realistic repair time.

They charged me $450 to diagnose and fix the problem. They claimed the rear brakes were installed incorrectly and needed to be redone (just had new brakes put in, in the fall). I'm now out $450 and in the same boat I was in but with uneven braking. After talking to the owner, it was clear they only wanted to sell me on more repairs. They had no interest in making it right. The guy is a salesman not a mechanic. Would not recommend.
