I feel he also came off demeaning and made me feel stupid and embarrassed. I was not looking for free legal help, I was looking for clarification and if my case was under the scope of his practice. I was not upset that he couldn't take my case. I work in the legal field and understand how the process works. I learned additional information and asked Jason if that was under his scope of practice, and was not looking for additional legal advice or any advice, just asking if he could take on my case. Again, my issue is not that he couldn't take on my case, my issue is that I felt he came off demeaning and how I was treated. I will not be reaching out again for any reason.

Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience seeking help from Causey Wright, and in particular, the…read moreparalegal who I met with, Arlene Oglove. I reached out due to the complicated L&I case I have been navigating for over 2 years, as I have received extreme mistreatment and been on the receiving end of unethical behavior throughout my whole L&I experience. I was referred to Causey Wright by a smaller firm and expected to be given a consultation and to share my side of the story. Arlene asked to review the claim file but did not give me the opportunity to share the details of my experience & injury. I waited over a week for our scheduled phone meeting to discuss my case after she reviewed the file. She did not call at the scheduled time, and once I called into the firm, I was told she was expecting me to call (which is untrue, as she had told me previously she would call me and I sent two emails with the correct phone number confirming that she would call at 11 on the day we had discussed). She eventually did call 35 minutes after our appointment time, and shared that she did not have her notes because they were on a "home computer" and not with her at the office (in addition to blaming me for the miscommunication). I find it extremely unprofessional to come to a scheduled conference so unprepared, and it is a violation of my trust to know she has my file on a computer at her home rather than the office. She went on to say that she reviewed my claim and found me "non-compliant" and began to bring up the letters sent to me by L&I (the very letters I am seeking legal help to dispute). It is clear to me after speaking with Arlene that she has no interest in advocating for the client, but rather is on the side of the insurance company, who have acted fraudulently since the beginning of my case. Arlene's communication towards me was cruel & made it clear that she is not interested in the truth of the story. I would hope that someone who has the best interests in mind of the client would take time to listen to the issues at hand, and not parrot the exact language L&I has used to paint me in a negative light. She brought up issues that have been long settled, and did not seem to care about the actual issues we are disputing. I came with very specific needs in mind, but she would not listen to what I had to say, leaving me frustrated and triggered, as my L&I claim has been an ongoing trauma that I cannot escape. If you are an injured worker seeking justice from L&I, do NOT use Causey Wright to represent you - they clearly represent the insurance company, and are not on the side of the injured party. Anyone navigating an L&I case knows that L&I will use many tactics to kick individuals off their benefits and deny them the care they need. If I didn't know better, I would think Arlene works for L&I, rather than a law firm offering representation to injured workers. During our conversation, I redirected her multiple times to the actual issues I need help with, and was immediately shut down and told I was argumentative. I am SO disappointed that there are people like Arlene working in this field, and discouraged to know that such a large law firm is so unscrupulous and unjust in their review of L&I cases. Her behavior towards me was shocking and it became incredibly clear to me that this law firm is corrupt and extremely unethical in presenting themselves as advocates for the injured party.

Lots of great reviews but honestly i think they were there just for the money or just hugely NOT…read morecompetent at all. I had an issues with an insurance claim, them denying my claim even though they couldn't prove they weren't liable. I was very clear from the start that my moving company made the insurance with the insurance company and that I did not have any documentation regarding the Pick-Up but only regarding my Drop-Off. 1. Phone consultation with Maureen, of course she can't predict the outcome but the consultation was quite specific as to know if there was a strong case, which she said there was, she also said the proof of being liable or not, was on the insurance company side that's why they have investigators. 2. Philip Haas calls, I find out that Maureen is not my lawyer but he will be, never spoke to him before and with a non-disclosed speech impediment that makes communication hugely hard (first bad sign, she should have contacted me telling me and asking if that was ok before taking a non refundable deposit). 3. You would think that if you change your clients lawyer without consulting with the client you'd provide every bit of information that very client provided you; NO, not the case, Philip Haas started doing his own without even consulting first and knowing half of the case; I got mad and made him aware of it and he apologized saying Maureen didn't send him the info (hugely unprofessional and once again a very bad sign); because I did send details by email there were no way you could dispute it so he wrote off what he charged me so far with whatever he did without consulting me first and then made out a strategy plan with me starting from zero (that was well appreciated but not encouraging). 4. If you know the case and set up a strategy but then a month later forget about details regarding that case...VERY BAD SIGN. Philip Haas blamed it on the fact they just had a new born and thanked me for reminding him the details of my case and because of that now he would re-contact the insurance company (he should have done that immediately as soon as he got another "claim denied"). 5. Out of the blue turns out that the burden of proof that the insurance company is liable or not, is on me and not on the insurance company so even though the insurance company can't prove they aren't liable, I have to prove they are by providing documents of the truck and driver that did my pick-up... SURPRISE! So my lawyer knowing from the start I did not have any documents alike as I specified from the beginning with Maureen, at the very end let's me know I have the burden of proof which, not having documents is clear that there is no case at all then, that's just common sense right? ... can you prove in a very specific way who the driver and truck type is? NO, you don't have a case, so why on earth would you take a case knowing there is no case? Because you mislead and was there for the money OR just were hugely incompetent not knowing what you were doing. Philip Haas insists they didn't mislead, which can be true but that just means they were hugely incompetent then, which one is it? A. The insurance company have to prove they are not liable and if they can't the burden for compensation is on them at least partially. (Maureen) -" knowing I didn't have documentation to prove specifics regarding the pick-up driver and truck type. Or B. You have to prove the insurance company is liable (even though you were insured) in order for them to compensate you by providing documents of who the driver and truck type was (Philip) Both are contradicting each other and therefore misleading or simply pure incompetence in the matter. Federal court? That was an option it would just have been hugely costly and time consuming and no guarantee of anythings pf course. Bad experience and a huge waste of money!

Initially, I did not fully understand why I needed this service. It is costly and my finances were already strained due to the failure of my build, but I trusted my attorney and went for it. CDR thoroughly examined my home and found problems I didn't know existed. The report was indeed comprehensive and professional, as promised. Eventually my case went to trial, the CDR report became my strongest piece of evidence, and in court is where I learned the true necessity of hiring a credible construction professional. Nick Winters from CDR took the stand and testified to the information in the report and did a fantastic job. He proved to be knowledgeable and articulate and confident. When the judge ruled in my favor, she said she found Mr. Winters to be a "very credible witness." The judge did not find the construction professional my general contractor hired to be a credible witness. I am so thankful I stuck with CDR. The positive impact CDR made on my case is immeasurable.
