I worked with Lizanne Padula as a financial consultant on two complex felony theft cases. One involved the alleged theft of over $600,000.00 from an elder gentleman by his caretaker. The other was the alleged theft of thousands of dollars, over several years, from a select athletic club by one of the coaches. Both of these cases went to trial and both ultimately resulted in dismissals. I have to say that I thought both of them were slam dunks for the Prosecution. Although Lizanne relied upon my review of the voluminous bank records, she also made sure that she combed through all the records just as thoroughly as I had done. She made sure she understood every small detail. Before trial, she interviewed every witness. Her preparation was impressive. However, it was not her preparation that motivated me to write this review. To be honest, although not every attorney does so, I have seen attorneys prepare at a similar level. What was truly unique was her trial work. First, she had a strategy mapped out. She knew exactly what she needed from each witness to implement her strategy. Through her preparation, she knew exactly what to do in order to get what she needed from every witness. If a witness made even a minor inconsistent statement, she knew it immediately and knew exactly what document to use to impeach the witness. She did not let any little detail get by her unnoticed. Quite frankly, it was like watching a chess game play out. Lizanne knew what move was coming a full 5 moves before her opponent. I sat through both of these trials and I personally witnessed Lizanne working from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm during these trials. This was even more amazing on the caretaker's alleged theft because, on the morning that trial started, the client informed Lizanne that she may not have the money to pay for Lizanne's trial related work until a later date. Most attorneys would have balked, tried to withdraw, or at least decreased their efforts during the trial. I think Lizanne is simply not built that way. She either fights all out or she doesn't fight at all. Lizanne had already signed up for this fight and she was not going to give up on the client. For three weeks she fought over every important detail and I watched as a case that I was certain we were going to lose turned into a case I started to think we were going to win. Lizanne someone got a hung jury (a full 6 jurors voted Not Guilty) and then the Prosecutor just gave up and dismissed the case instead of taking it to trial a second time. Lizanne is a hardworking and honest attorney. She is also the most skilled attorney I have ever had the opportunity to watch in trial. Some time ago I was charged with a DUI. My alcoholism was egregious. I had thoroughly incriminated myself, so the case was far less about getting off the hook than it was mitigating the damage I had already done to myself, and allowing me to come out the other side best armed to pick up the pieces. Prior to retaining Padula & Associates I'd qualified for a public defender and set out to take my chances. I spent some time in jail, was released, and then returned to jail following another poor decision. Meanwhile, my parents recognized the dire position I was in and offered to help me retain an attorney. I was in no position to shop around, but they were. After looking at options they asked Lizanne for help and she visited me in jail to have a conversation. She was candid in that conversation, painting a plain picture of my current situation and what to expect moving forward if I elected to retain her, which I did. She provided good advice and simple steps to follow to best rebound from the charges (and subsequent poor decisions) as quickly as possible. In my hubris I ignored every bit. Never the less she pressed forward, providing assistance at every turn in spite of my best efforts at self-sabotage. Always actively looking at ways to improve my situation with the court. Returning every phone call. Calling me with updates on the case. Patience is a virtue Lizanne has in spades (I put this to the test). As time wore on I began to see that my strategy wasn't working, and got behind hers. Things began improving almost immediately. The outcome with the courts thus far, all things considered, has been wonderful. I am left in a position to be the person I've always wanted to be. Padula & Associates could not change who I was, but they certainly provided every tool I needed to help myself. I cannot recommend this firm enough. She is the best DUI lawyer in king county, plus she actually cares about her clients I have had a difficult record with DUI's. Lizanne took over my case and immediately I realized how amazing she is at her job. She is beyond passionate about her clients but she has a no bs attitude (which I prefer). She helped me see that I had problem with alcohol. She told me what I needed to do for my case to have the outcome I wanted but told me that there was no guarantees. Lizanne has been the most effective and direct attorney I have ever worked with. Her compassion and work ethic for myself and my family has undoubtedly kept this situation manageable for us. Hey. I got her number through a friend of mine who had used her. He had great things to say about her. Her knowledge, skills, trustworthiness, and accountability (thats the big one) she is straight to the point. So I figured why not give her a try. I being a male.
