We've come to Padre Murphy's for a few years, primarily for their fish fry. We quit in-person dining for awhile, but thought we would call in an order to-go yesterday. I called, asked for two fish fries to-go, extra crispy fish and fries, extra tartar sauce. "Ten minutes," the person said, so we left right away and arrived to a longer wait - an additional 10 minutes - and my husband paid $36.90 for the two meals which seemed a tad high. He asked if the extra tartar sauce was there and was told, "yes." We each were given one small container of sauce. The cole slaw was a half-hearted attempt with hunks of cabbage leaf as big as 2"X2". Fish was good and crispy - I had 2 small pieces and my husband received three. Fries weren't crispy but plentiful. We were "testing the waters" so we could start returning in-person, but I doubt that we will. read more

A few of us went in for lunch today, for one, it took FOREVER for us to get our food, and for 2, halfway thru our meal, there was a cockroach crawling on the wall right next to us! The waitress was went and got the owner. She was grossed out, he came over, got it, and said he would buy us a round of drinks! Like no big deal! He was like, I swear we get this place sprayed all the time, but still... No big apologies, no I'll comp your meal, just a round of drinks (which we weren't all drinking). The food was great but they left out the red cabbage which is standard in which is standard in their wienerschnitzel entrees it's a bit disappointed as I have been treated it's appointed as I have been treated very well in the past although although this time was completely different. They were that's completely different. They were trying to close up shop close up shop and leave so they push out the last orders like they were the shout the last orders like they were nothing just to be able to close just to be able to close sooner. I have never felt more disrespected in my life. I just wanted to make a Togo order and I initially waited at least 10 min to be addressed at the hostess station. Then I was sent to the bar and waited another 10 min. After the bartender spoke with 2 other people that came to the bar after me. I had to say "excuse me" 3 times before she turned around and approached me. As I was asking her questions someone walked up and rudely interrupted me and she just turned around and started talking to them. I just walked out. So rude and I'm glad I did not waste my money on this shithole. I am so upset and will never step foot in there again. read more

Tonight we went for fish fry and it was gross, coleslaw was old and sour and I mention to our waitress and she said no way I just saw them make it but it was a new training guy maybe he out too much pineapple juice ... The "security" guys started to yell that it was time to go so we put in for our lyft. I think he's there 5:30-8:30 every Tuesday evening. You will NOT be disappointed if you're a lover of music. While listening, of course you can get a Achocolypse chocolaty tasting beer and a big savory salad or burger. The happy hour menu is in full swing about that time too, so have at it! If you're wanting just sit outside sometime to "chill" the patio is very large. Restrooms are always clean, wait staff is friendly, but not overly hovering. I love Kayla however she seemed to get her shift cut early which sucked. I have been going here a few times a week for 2 years and there view of closing whenever they want sucks. When I asked today why they were closing early I got told there was only 2 tables. Funny thing is there was plenty of people there. The server argued with me saying she has worked there for 12 years, (I have never seen her in2 years) and it was not worth their money to stay open. I said they will never change peoples minds if they keep closing early. She got argumentative with me. I said you will never change things closing early. Anyways I don't think it's ok to close a bar at 11 on a Friday night, unless your not a bar. Taking business away from your best server who everyone loves and comes to see (Kayla) is not ok. Finally stopped in to check out Padre Murphy's. They were showing the UFC fights on a Sat night. No cover to see them. It's in a shopping center and there was plenty of parking. Harley Davidson was outside doing a give away and people were playing corn hole. We walked in and got a seat at the bar. They had the fights on along with horse racing and an arena football game. They have horse betting for people that like that. The bar seemed really new. All the taps looked new. Tons of beer on tap which was very fresh and cold. Service was fast and the bar staff was very attentive. The place was clean and so were the bathrooms. The place has a ton of TV's. We had the wings which they grilled and had good flavor. The burger was cooked perfectly. Tasty burger! Fries were good too. All in all, a good sports bar. read more

Considering this is a sports betting bar overall, I loved this place. First of all, on Tuesdays they have a trumpet player with a Ph.D. and 2 Grammys that plays from 5:30-8:30 pm that is so worth seeing/hearing. I never in a million years thought I would be able to really enjoy hours of trumpet playing but I did--and, yes, he IS that good! Loved it! Strongly urge anyone interested in music to go hear this fella. He also sings with a pretty mellow voice which was just as entertaining to listen to. By the way, this is all FREE and no cover charge to come in! Good deal for sure! As for the food, depends on what you get. I got the sliders which I was meh about. My son got the steak sandwich and fries which he loved--and I have to admit that I wanted to steal some of his fries, cause they were cooked perfectly crisp (but I didn't steal any). Looked yummy. Had a prickly pear margarita which was fine other than not sure what type of tequila they use as I got a headache from either the dry Phoenix air or the booze. Regardless, I am no drinker at all, so someone else might just love it. Service was good, gal was nice and even found out some information about the entertainer for me and no complaints there. We went with a group, and all of us said we liked the place. I know I will be back on Tuesday sometime in the future just to hear the entertainer if nothing else. To me, this is a good, fun place to be on a weeknight and worth the trip for sure. read more

The worst place ever!!! Date night with my husband after an exhausting week. We sat at the bar where the worst bartenders apparently work. Unbelievable worst customer service I've ever experienced after at least 10 minutes and barely being acknowledged we got a drink I had to ask for a menu and got attitude when I did. Literally waited another 15 minutes to have the bartender that looked grundgy and acted pissy to finally ask us if we wanted anything else and I said no not now. Missed out on getting our money for dinner congratulations! To bad we are super close in the neighborhood but we will take our money to Tim Finnegans it's a little farther to drive but at least their staff is nice and has customer service skills. Better than average due to all the beers and the French onion soup. Yea I said soup. I triple dog dare ya to find a better FO soup. Really. Sounds weird but it is what it is. We had Christmas dinner today at Padre Murphy's will never do that again. Drinks were mixed up they ran out of vodka service was slow. The prime rib was the toughest I have ever had it took forever to even get our food the ham dinner was sliced so thin you could've used it on a sandwich my brother-in-law had coffee that he had to send back because it was so cold. I have been to this place many times mostly Fridays because they have good deals on beer and fish and chips. Overall I will tell you that they have very good drinks they are not watered down and they give you a lot of drink and the fish and chips is very good. I give it only three stars because the service is not so much and the tables are ALWAYS dirty- When I mean always dirty I dont mean one time or two time I mean everytime dirty. The management needs to hire people JUST to clean the tables because there is only 8 waitresses and maybe 200 people so it is very busy much too busy and the waitresses never clean the tables because they have no time. First timer! I went in for a dinner with my lover. I am a simple girl living in a simple world, so I decided to have a salad. My lover is a prime rib kind of guy, so he got the prime rib. I had a simple water, and my sweet love had chocolate milk, (PSA- they don't have regular chocolate milk, but we begged our server, Kendyl to demand chocolate milk, and she said, she will get it done)! The salad tasted like a good salad. My dearest love told me to type this about his rib, "cooked perfectly, very tender, excellent use of salt......the potatoes were okay" The atmosphere is very sporty, so I'm assuming this was a sports bar. The food was unrivaled. Our server Kendel was sweet, (and although my love wanted Chicken Noodle Soup originally, Kendil talked him into trying the prime rib, and I was the one paying for it, so tbh I was a bit upset about that, so don't tell her, but I gave her less of a tip for talking my sweet love into getting that pricey steak!!!!) and the prices were on par with what I expected. Lots of Sports. I have not seen this much sports memorabilia since my basement growing up in NY. Ha! Service was slow but the waitress was friendly. I had to wait too long when I first walked in. Let me go ahead and eat my words a bit. THEY HAD A FACE LIFT!! Just like I had said in my first review, I think they could use a bit of a re-model. Well... They Bar certainly has. And they even spiced up the outside with some greenery as well. I think it most definitely helped. The bar is pretty cool. I've never seen a tap like that. A very large square set up, nice shiny and new. They added a bunch of craft beers. The liquor is now in the cutest rustic looking display in the back. Lit up and behind rusted looking wires. I really like it. The staff has newer, updated, modern attire. I have to give them some credit. They are really starting to look like a more modern Irish Sports Bar. I was searching on the internet for a traditional Thanksgiving buffet. Fortunately, I found Padre Murphy's Sports Bar. Several times a year they have a buffet. The establishment is a typical sports bar with TVs all around and a great sports atmosphere. The buffet was outstanding with turkey and all the trimmings. The service was very good. The place was packed with families and couples. If Padre Murphy's wasn't 17 miles from where I stay while in Arizona, I would make this place my go-to place for food an drink while in Arizona. read more

Going to Padre Murphy's on Fridays for Fish and Chips is a tradition and somewhat a routine for loads of peeps in northwest Phoenix. I had to try it. My first visit was for lunch with a coworker and have been back a couple of times for their Fish & Chips on Fridays. It's somewhat of a dated sports bar but with lots of cool sports pics on the walls and plenty of great TVs everywhere to watch sports, horse and dog races. Plenty of room, clean and inviting and even has a couple of betting windows for the race tracks. Their service is exceptional and very consistent with each visit. The crowd is somewhat of an older, couples crowd but kid friendly. Padre Murphy's bottomless Fish and Chips on Friday has a great taste and it is what a lot of peeps keep coming back for. I've tried some of their Irish dishes and found them to be average or below compared to other places. Their sandwiches and burgers are OK and their open faced roast beef plate is one of their best sellers. But I, like most peeps come here for their Fish & Chips on Fridays. Maybe I will see you there sometime on a Friday eating Fish & Chips ;-) read more

I am so disappointed in this place! This is the 3rd time we have gone here and each time the service had been very slow! When we arrived tonight about 7:45pm it was still busy, but showing down. We were seated right away and offered for menus, but no drink menus. We placed out food order and then waited about 15min. to n get out drinks and water! We ordered a burger and were not asked how we wanted it cooked. It came back barely warm and way over cooked. We sent it back and it did come out great! The French fries were awesome, but the potato chips sucked! When the food did come out we had to ask for silverware and napkins. With my Erin sandwich the Au juice was not hot and not even half a cup. I ordered more and was charged .99 for it, which did come out as a full cup and hot! They did wave the fee. Thanks. We also ordered a Stella beer on tap that tasted terrible! We won't be going back anytime soon! read more
