The place just reopened after a pretty bad kitchen fire. Because of that and the fact that most of the damage has been repaired they have a very limited menu which I've posted in the pictures. Chicken breast was really nice and juicy and well seasoned while the onion rings were nothing spectacular at all. I look forward to when Padre Murphy's gets its full menu back because the options on The Limited menu really didn't do much for me personally but still a good atmosphere. I've been here many times before because of the large beer selection. Tonight, I was more than a little disappointed. They use to have over 50 beers on draft. That was one of the key selling points of this place. Now, they have 20, and when I came in tonight they were out of 3. Most of the 20 they have are common domestics and imports, compared to the previous craft selection. But, tonight it's about burgers, not beer... I'm in search of the best dive bar cheeseburger in the Phoenix area. Suggestions are welcome! The cheeseburger here was good, not great. The meat could've been seasoned a little more but all the toppings were on point. The bun was a bit stale. The bartender Jordan, was great. Very attentive, and a good person to represent this place. This place is not really a dive bar, but more of a hotspot for older people who enjoy off track betting. Not that there's anything wrong with that... I give this place a 3 1/2 stars! read more

The only reason I've ever visited Padre Murphy's was because of the NEDW booster club. Food was sub par, served cold and service was pretty much non existent. If you don't have the capability of meeting the needs of large gatherings by adjusting your staffing, just say no. read more

Went here for the Kentucky derby like we have done for the last few years and it was horrible we asked for a hamburger and tots finally when we got our servers attention an hr later he was like what was the order and we told him and ordered 3 drinks nothing another hour passed and we finally flagged him down and asked nothing for another 30 min so we went to find him and said we need the check this is ridiculous he came back like 5 min later blaming every but himself, also they other tables around us got multiple drinks and food in this 2 and a half hours while we waited so obviously something was going on with the server. The nachos used to be huge enough to feed the family, now they are smaller than the old half order they used to serve. They were also dry, not fresh. Probably sitting awhile. The green beans came out burnt, and so gross. We had a really good first-time experience!! The place is way bigger than I expected!! The atmosphere was unique and cozy, and it felt almost like a getaway!! I guess this location of Padre Murphy's has been around for a very long time and, being native to Phoenix, I had NO idea it existed and that I was missing out!! The gravy had some tiny lumps in it, which told me that it was HOME MADE!! The potatoes had some (I think on purpose for texture) lumps too, which impressed me big time as they were super good!! The meal was an old-time comfort food combo!! The server was very interactive!! She told me the veggie of the day that came with my meal was corn on the cob, and she then quickly pointed out on the menu that I had to option to order ANY other of many side choices instead of either the corn or the mashed potatoes. I ordered a side salad instead of corn on the cob, and it was super fresh!! I LOVE the raspberry vinaigrette that the server recommended!! The burger was HUGE!! It was so huge that it had to be cut up to manage it! The fries!! The fries seemed to be fresh cut, skin on, so crispy and just total perfection!!! I stole lots of them!! I brought home a big portion of my meal! It was such a chill place to hang out! We made reservations for four for a table with a view of the band. We got a table behind a pole. We waited probably 20 minutes with no server coming by. I finally asked if we could get waited on and about 6 minutes later someone came by and asked for our drink order. I picked four different beers and was told that they were all on the 'fast' bar and were all warm. I ordered something that I didn't want but it was cold. The beers came out around 10 minutes later and were cold. When the waiter brought the beer we ordered some food. I ordered the 'Board' which is assorted cheese and meat for $10-11. My guess is that the actual cost $3-$4. My friend got a Philly Cheese steak with coleslaw. The Philly was good. The coleslaw was so bland, it really had no flavor whatsoever. The 'Board' was ok. Although the server didn't explain what kind of meat, cheese and cut fruit are included. The band was Boomer featuring Devo Carillon who have been around the area for quite a while and they are top notch. The place looks much better than it did with the previous owners. There is, however a problem with the way the business is being operated. I saw an owner and a manager shmoozin. But there was no one really keeping track of the customer experience. This business has a new owner. I hope that he succeeds. This area really needs a good live music/sports/restaurant. The previous owner had similar problems with service and food quality. Maybe after awhile they will become the best place in town. But not yet. 4 stars because they're new. They deserve 3. The bar has off track wagering apparently. Garbage service. Saturday afternoon spent over the course of 4 hours, trying to get the smallest semblance of service from our waitress. I can understand a business being understaffed due to the miserable conditions that Covid has introduced, but after being a regular customer for the last 5-6 years, I'm absolutely done with this place. Four hours.. Two drinks between my friend and I. The food has never been an issue, but the service I was shown today by not only the waitress (Heather) as well as the Manager (no idea what his name was, as he spoke to me once) is beyond horrid. It's not a huge deal but the drinks were supposed to be $3.50 and rang in at $4.00. Also they charged for extra salsa ($.75). Not much but they didn't tell me before hand. we've gone here for st pat's day for a few years. this year it sucked. made a reservation, and when we showed up, the woman at the door who's worked there for 17 years (she told me 5x) said they dont take them. when I showed her my confirmation, she told me that was impossible they'd it. take them. we proceeded to sit there from 11:30-1:45 to get 7 sandwiches, only to have 2 of them completely wrong. we walked out with 2 people not eating because it would take too long to get what we orseres. Was there for their famous Irish fare on St. Patrick's day. They had a tent party in the parking lot with live Irish music, dances and green drinks. The event was a full day, but I could only make it to the afternoon part of it and enjoyed it a lot. It was also my first time to try the traditional Irish corned beef and cabbage. I think it was ok and I'd probably have it again, but not something that I'd crave for still. Make sure to bring cash if you going on St. Patrick's day. We came to celebrate father's day, 6 of us. My father in law "Loooves" Padre Murphy's, for the food & horse racing. This honestly is all that matters today. He ordered the surf and turf and was very pleased with it. Hubby & I split the philly, chili cheese tater tots, Eh wasn't impressed by a long shot. Philly was 80% bread. My Sister had the buffalo chx sand, she didn't like it. She failed to read the term "buffalo" she doesn't eat spicy food lol. I will say that the bread pudding was fantastic and the portion was enormous. Our waitress was a bit ditzy and took waaay too long to bring my mother in law lids for her sour cream to go and she was annoyed.
