The place just reopened after a pretty bad kitchen fire. Because of that and the fact that most of the damage has been repaired they have a very limited menu which I've posted in the pictures. Chicken breast was really nice and juicy and well seasoned while the onion rings were nothing spectacular at all. I look forward to when Padre Murphy's gets its full menu back because the options on The Limited menu really didn't do much for me personally but still a good atmosphere. I've been here many times before because of the large beer selection. Tonight, I was more than a little disappointed. They use to have over 50 beers on draft. That was one of the key selling points of this place. Now, they have 20, and when I came in tonight they were out of 3. We had a really good first-time experience!! The place is way bigger than I expected!! The atmosphere was unique and cozy, and it felt almost like a getaway!! I guess this location of Padre Murphy's has been around for a very long time and, being native to Phoenix, I had NO idea it existed and that I was missing out!! The meal was an old-time comfort food combo!! The server was very interactive!! She told me the veggie of the day that came with my meal was corn on the cob, and she then quickly pointed out on the menu that I had to option to order ANY other of many side choices instead of either the corn or the mashed potatoes. I ordered a side salad instead of corn on the cob, and it was super fresh!! I LOVE the raspberry vinaigrette that the server recommended!! The burger was HUGE!! We made reservations for four for a table with a view of the band. We got a table behind a pole. We waited probably 20 minutes with no server coming by. I finally asked if we could get waited on and about 6 minutes later someone came by and asked for our drink order. I picked four different beers and was told that they were all on the 'fast' bar and were all warm. I ordered something that I didn't want but it was cold. The beers came out around 10 minutes later and were cold. When the waiter brought the beer we ordered some food. I ordered the 'Board' which is assorted cheese and meat for $10-11. My guess is that the actual cost $3-$4. My friend got a Philly Cheese steak with coleslaw. The Philly was good. The coleslaw was so bland, it really had no flavor whatsoever. The 'Board' was ok. Although the server didn't explain what kind of meat, cheese and cut fruit are included. The band was Boomer featuring Devo Carillon who have been around the area for quite a while and they are top notch. The place looks much better than it did with the previous owners. There is, however a problem with the way the business is being operated. I saw an owner and a manager shmoozin. But there was no one really keeping track of the customer experience. This business has a new owner. I hope that he succeeds. This area really needs a good live music/sports/restaurant. The previous owner had similar problems with service and food quality. It's not a huge deal but the drinks were supposed to be $3.50 and rang in at $4.00. Also they charged for extra salsa ($.75). Not much but they didn't tell me before hand. Was there for their famous Irish fare on St. Patrick's day. They had a tent party in the parking lot with live Irish music, dances and green drinks. The event was a full day, but I could only make it to the afternoon part of it and enjoyed it a lot. It was also my first time to try the traditional Irish corned beef and cabbage. I think it was ok and I'd probably have it again, but not something that I'd crave for still. Make sure to bring cash if you going on St. Patrick's day. We came to celebrate father's day, 6 of us. My father in law "Loooves" Padre Murphy's, for the food & horse racing. This honestly is all that matters today. He ordered the surf and turf and was very pleased with it. Hubby & I split the philly, chili cheese tater tots, Eh wasn't impressed by a long shot. Philly was 80% bread. My Sister had the buffalo chx sand, she didn't like it. She failed to read the term "buffalo" she doesn't eat spicy food lol. I will say that the bread pudding was fantastic and the portion was enormous. Our waitress was a bit ditzy and took waaay too long to bring my mother in law lids for her sour cream to go and she was annoyed.
