I don't know why this place doesn't have a higher rating!! I think most people are confused by the crust?? It's a normal thin crust folks. Crispy with a little chew. Helps highlight the fantastic toppings. Definitely worth coming here for the taco pizza (sorry, forgot the name of it!) incredible balance of fresh veggies, cheese Doritos, and hamburger. Their pizza is good, don't get me wrong. However, the service from the employees was awful. Nothing about it was friendly, but more like they didn't even want to be there and they took it out on the people coming in. The vibe sucked. My kids asked for refills on their waters and it was like we asked them to remake our pizzas or something. I also need to add that it takes a very long time to make the pizzas. And not because it was busy (only 2 families there) but because they were working SLOW. I've never seen a pizza be made so slow in my life, and I've worked in a pizza place. A little hustle goes a long ways. Additionally, the soda was flat, zero bubbles and no flavor. Quite simply the best pizza I've ever had. My friend was bragging them up and I thought "It's probably not THAT good" but boy was I wrong. They have a super-thin crust, which I prefer, and all the toppings are excellent. The pepperoni actually has some taste to it (and isn't greasy). I recommend the Bandito also. Even their takeout boxes are kinda neat. I also like the fact that the kitchen area is totally open and you can see everything the staff is doing. I worked at a pizza place when I was a teenager and if you can't see the kitchen...well let's not talk about what goes on back there sometimes. One odd thing is their pizza doesn't reheat very well. I mean, it's not bad the next day but it's definitely not as good as when you first get it home and pop that cute takeout box open. They are pretty spendy, but I've eaten so much mediocre pizza in my life (I am a gamer after all) that at this point I'm willing to pay a little more to get the good stuff. This is a nice old fashion pizza parlor. There was a kids party going. The lunch crowd has arrived. We waited for 10 mins or more for our lunch pizzas. I got the "ranch hand". Your choice of can or fresh mushrooms. I preferred fresh ones. My pizza was enough to satisfy my hunger. I would have liked it if there is more cheese. I love lots of cheese. The best pizza is one that has LOTS of cheese that stretches out when you grab a slice. It was okay. There were lots of delicious pizza that they offer. I have been to padingtons many many times and it is my favorite place too eat pizza I love the lunch personal pizzas I wish they had them all day witch is why I have four stars but I love this place I would recommend this because it has great service and I am happy that my as a teenager can go there and order a pizza and be right back out because the workers practically know me or at least I know who they are but seriously a recommendation. read more

I love this pizza SO much! I prefer it over any I've had anywhere in the world. I can't wait to visit Salem just to have it. The sauce is out of this world. I'm not sure how they get the flavor. They pile on the toppings and the crust is amazing!! Whippersnapper and Quickdraw are my go-tos.I don't like mushrooms, so I can't speak for those (some bad reviews on the mushrooms). This is a family joint that has been around for years (the Pine location). Service is always great and friendly. Yes, the dolls are creepy! But it's part of the Padington's charm. There was nothing wrong with this place, but we found the pizza to be unimpressive. We found it to be on par with dominoes or pizza hut. Also this place was way too pricey for the quality. I think we'll stick with homemade or Straight from New York. read more

Unfortunately I now have to down grade my comments. Since Troy got ill it has gradually fallen to a level I am concerned about. I have eaten first at the North restaurant and then when it opened out South and never been disappointed. Tonight We ordered 2 pizzas to go. Both were over cooked even though we could not pick them up for 55 minutes. Also I have a hard time with managements decision to ease up on the grooming and dress code for their employees. I will continue to eat there for now but I am concerned. read more

I think they are one of the best pizza places in 6 states that I work in. My only complaints are the following: 1. I like that they hire local kids to work there and these kids actually have a job, but management REALLY NEEDS to train these kids to work faster! 2. Considering the prices they charge for the pizzas, they cant buy more ovens and pump out more volume?? Really?? 3. Computer monitor system is much needed here. I timed yesterday how long each customer has to wait for their credit card to be processed...it was 4 minutes each. This means there was a long line forming and 3 staff waiting to use the credit card machine. A total of 12 minutes of people not getting their orders in. The owners really need someone to come in and help them with through put. To make it more efficient. They do have people waiting to eat this delicious pizza but the efficiency is so bad that they were only 40% full of actual people sitting down eating. Padington's serves good pizza. They use really great ingredients that make for a tasty and fresh pizza. Mark, a previous commenter, said they use canned mushrooms - however, if you ask, they'll use fresh mushrooms instead - my wife insists on the fresh kind. So, with great pizza, how's the environment inside Padington's? It's set up in a cowboy style which is fun for a pizza place. However, come 6:00 on most evenings, it can get *really* loud inside Padington's. So loud that you have to speak in a very loud voice in order to carry on a conversation with those at your table. So, if you're sensitive to noise or want a quiet meal out, Padington's isn't your place during the rush dinner hour, but it's great for large families or other groups. Out of all the of Salem pizza joints the Padington's chain is among the most famous but also among the most expensive. The pizza's thin crust style, loaded with toppings and plenty of flavor is easily some of the best Salem has to offer. This particular Padington's is ironically less busy than the other Pine St. location and has significantly more parking. The service is your usual high school students who take orders and bake pizzas, who just want to end their shift. If one is a devoted Padington's patron, this is the place. If not, go for the other less expensive chains that feature the same style of pizza. read more

Number two on my favorite pizza places. Whenever I am in Salem I try to hit up one of my local favorites, unfortunately, sometimes I just can't squeeze it in. I tend to eat here, by the fireplace on cold days, rather than order to go. I have a seriously guilty pleasure: eating piping hot pizza while the cheese is still mouth scalding. It's weird, but oh well. Padington's has always been consistently delicious. The staff are friendly and the orders are usually brought out without much delay. Something is wrong!! Last 2 times we ordered to go and the first time was told 25 min and ended up to be an hour the place was chaos! Got home pizza cold and not what we ordered. The second time was to pick up in 30 minutes my husband waited for an hour. (Total 1.5 hours). We will not be going back!!! read more

I grew up eating this pizza and i i still believe it is some of the best pizza I have ever had. (Only beaten by some of the slices i had in New York) Locally owned and operated, and i have no problem paying a little bit extra for the quality and to support this local business. We called in our order tonight. We were told our order wouldnt be ready for an hour and forty five minutes. We arrived and the pizza was ready for us in about 10 minutes. We both ordered drinks. I went up to the counter to get a re fill. The cost was a dollar. If fast food places and resturants can give refills on pop why cant Paddingtons. Thats cheap of them. The pizza was good. Paddington's is my favorite pizza parlor. Despite being more expensive than most, it is great pizza. I love it. I wish the people running Paddington's felt the same way about their customers. They just don't care. You can count on an hour or more wait. Hey, I guess they're just figuring out how to match production with efficiency. They've only been doing this for a very long time (20 years, or so) It's their business not mine. I just schedule around it. I know they're slow. Did I mention that I love their pizza. The trouble is they don't even care about that time. If something happens, I can deal with it. Just tell me. Time and again, they say it will be an hour or an hour and 15 minutes for your pizza to be ready. That's a long time for a simple pizza, but it's really good and they're busy. This is what happens every time so they should be able to plan around this, but what do I know. You get there on time and then they say "oh, we're busy so it will be another 10 minutes." It happens. The trouble is that it happens every time. Every now and then, like tonight, it takes an extra half an hour. I'm tire of it. I know you guys must feel really entitled and you operate in an affluent are where they can afford the high prices and you can get away with not caring about your customers, because you never even get an oh, I'm sorry." Went for the first time a couple weeks back afyer hearing great things about the pizza. Went for lunch which was amazing the deal you get during their lunch "mini" pizza special..all of them range from 5-8 bucks roughly depending on style. Interesting old western style on the inside and I was digging it. The bacon and pineapple pizza was to die for and the one I built myself had fresh mushrooms on it which is great! You can choose fresh or canned..Totally recomend anyone give them a try if you looking for affordable and gteat lunch in the area! Will be back! read more

My son's soccer team came here for their end of season celebration, and wow! Was this place under whelming! The menus are, from what I saw, only posted on the counter, which means you can basically only see it when it's your turn to order. There are only pizza options. There's no breadsticks or salad bar or anything else if someone is your party is just not feeling in a pizza mood. The prices are ridiculous, $23 for a medium? Yikes. The next awesome thing is paying. You see, you have to purchase pizza separate from the drinks. So instead of one card transaction, you get two. The weird thing is the beverage side uses the same POS that the pizza side does. The wait was about 25 minutes. They have no regular plates and the paper plates weren't clearly marked, so we used napkins. The pizza was ok. I liked the crust, my kids cheese side was ok flavored and they used a generous amount of cheese. The bbq chicken side had this weird chicken that tasted like it was cooked in the crockpot, and the sauce under the weird goopy mess was regular pizza sauce. I would have much rather spent my money on Donatello's down the road and at least my kid would have had a place to blow off steam. Skip Paddington's, it looks quaint and fun from the outside, but don't fall for their snake oil they're selling. read more

I love Padington's. They have one of the few thin crusts that I like. Normally, they are super crisp like a cracker or chip so they fall apart after you take your first bite, but Padington's thin crust actually stays together. When we go, we normally get half Gold Digger with olives (basically a Hawaiian) and half Whippersnapper (Canadian Bacon, pepperoni, and beef). The Bandito is also really good; other places would call it a Taco Pizza. I'm not a big fan of Vegetarian pizzas, but theirs is one that I would actually eat. I have never eaten one of their salads, but my mom and sister seem to enjoy them quite a bit. Make sure to read all the names of the pizzas on the menu as some of them are quite interesting. It's a great place to have big family get-togethers, because there is a whole section off to each of the sides that work great to have everyone sitting together. read more

I remember when Paddington's was THE pizza place. Something has changed. We went on a Friday evening and ordered the Humdinger, then went to the bar to get soft drinks. The bartender was nowhere to be seen. We waited probably 15 minutes and there were people waiting behind us as well. No one showed up or asked us what we wanted or explained anything. Finally, the bartender, who was in the bathroom, came back and acted as if we had bothered her by wanting something to drink. No apologies for our wait time, not even a smiley attitude. Not impressed. We sat down and waited about 15-20 minutes for our pizza before going to the counter and asking if we might have missed hearing our number being called. It was just then being put in the oven. Maybe 15 minutes later our number was called and we got our pizza. The toppings would slide off as we tried to eat and the crust was very hard and brittle. Not what we expected from Paddingtons. When we were done I went to the cashier to get a small box. The manager was at the register as I walked up. He turned and walked away without looking up to see if there was anyone at the counter and I had to wait for another 5-10 minutes for someone to help me. It's obvious the management doesn't want to be there and it seems like the recipe has changed from the original crust. Not what we expected. I don't see much reason to return. read more

Unfortunate that this place used to be so great. I've been going here for at least 20 years and it was always the best tasting pizza around. The problem is over the last few years the customer service and time to get your food has become terrible. Today was the most recent issue. Less than 10 people in the entire restaurant and we waited over 50 min for one small pizza. Also watched a guy wait at the drink bar for 10 min for someone to come over and help him. All the while workers standing around chatting. Great food does not make up for bad service sorry. Hopefully they can figure it out.
