Stopped by here on the way home from a meeting. The food wasn't bad, so long as you like grilled cheese sandwiches, but who doesn't? I had a pizza-style sandwich and it was really good. Specialty grilled cheese sandwiches are their "thing." I'd imagine something for everyone. Service was really good and attentive, although admittedly I was one of a few people in there at the time. It was a little after normal lunch time, so I definitely missed the crowd if there was one. Lots of televisions, so if you're trying to catch a couple games, seems like this would be a good place. Absolutely love this place, so many different sandwich choices! I have had the loco, the club, the grilled chicken and the buffalo chicken sandwichs - ALL were AMAZING. The appitizers are also great - we always get the chicken chuncks - a favorite for the whole family to enjoy. The soup is also good and the salads were quite large. So many options for martini's - lemon drop, key lime, chocolate, chocolate/smore martini, plus the Dark Irishman that is mixed with Genesis. Really, such a tough choice because I love them all. We are in there weekly and have always had fast, reliable and friendly service. The place is very clean and atmosphere is inviting. I recommend this restaurant!! During football season I come here every Sunday to watch my team play. The owner always ensures everyone gets to watch their team play. Food is very good, the only negative is that it isn't not quite healthy! Ha. Bar tenders and servers are always polite and quick to take care of you, I really can't recall a time that I have had bad service. I know people who live and work in the Toledo area and they swear by this place, so when I was in town it was a no brainier where we'd eat. The place used to be a Mongolian bbq, you can see the cooks prepare your sandwiches from your tables. The menu is simple, it's two sided but trust me, these aren't your mothers grilled cheese sandwiches! As suggested by the name the place has a Irish theme and they have some of the sexiest servers in kilts in all of the land! I went around 2pm so there wasn't a huge crowd, and there were families who had their children with them, so before a certain time I'd say it's a ok place for kids. They have a stage which suggests that they host performances, they have drink specials and apps like fried green beans, pickles and jalapeño poppers. The sandwiches are huge and some of the best I've ever had, the food is reasonably priced and the staff is on it unless a drunk patron decides to hit on one of the waitstaff. Nice to have another great food/drink choice in Sylvania, and they offer outdoor seating! It's definitely a bar and restaurant, but seems they want to be recognized more as a bar. The service was great, and the Key Lime martini Lance made for me was OUTSTANDING! The menu is pretty limited to salads and sandwiches, but I get it. It's a specialty grilled cheese theme. I had the Reuben and it was wonderful. My wife loved the salad and tomato soup she ordered. The atmosphere was OK, but I'm not a fan of so many TV's, and I'm not sure why the need for the 2nd bar that looked better suited in a vegas strip club. :) The catholic school girl uniforms on the waitresses are a nice touch - at least for the male crowd. LOL! Bathrooms were clean. And the music was at almost the perfect level for dinner time in a bar. I could carry on a conversation with my wife and didn't have to yell. How could it go wrong, given that this establishment is trading in one of the ultimate comfort foods? Well, they've found a way to screw it up. If you work in the service industry, do not support this place. I am a server, and about 15 of their employees, including their manager came to the restaurant I work at in their Paddy Jacks party bus. When they arrived, they were already clearly intoxicated. One of them decided to eat another customer's food and when the customer got upset, they all started yelling, insulting, and cussing inside of the restaurant. As if that wasn't idiotic enough, they then started threatening me and my coworkers. This was a sunday night at 1:30 am, so there were only 4 employees total working. Once the drunk Paddy Jack's employees started literally pushing us, we had to call the cops. They all tried leaving without paying any of their tabs too. So if you have any respect for people in the restaurant/service industry, don't go here because they obviously don't. read more

I went there for lunch yesterday and I really liked it! Atmosphere: They seem to be going for a modern/Irish blend, so you get things like girls in kilts and Guinness, but in a more modern sports-bar-y atmosphere. You can pretty much call this a gastro-pub: it's a bar where you can sit down and have a meal in. I don't think it's the thing for everyone, but I like a good laid-back atmosphere. There's a bunch of TV's there, but unless you sit at the bar itself they're very unobtrusive. Menu: they've got a focus on grilled cheese dishes, though there's a lot of variety in the types, with a focus on provalone and swiss over cheddar (and thank goodness for that - I can't stand cheddar and when my friends took me here I had assumed that I'd just get a plate of fries - I was pleasantly surprised). Speaking of the fries, they're seasoned with a pretty tasty steak seasoning that enhanced the fries, but didn't overpower them like you might get at Red Robins. And for you beer-drinkers, you'll be happy to know that they've got a pretty good beer list: there's the usuals like Guinness and Sharps and Yuengling, but there's also at least one or two selections from several other countries. I got an Angry Orchard cider, which was tasty goodness. They've also got a good selection of mixed drinks, but most of them seemed Guinness-based. A little disappointing, but if you don't like Guinness then there were several other options. Service: I really didn't have any problems with the service, and I'm wondering if the other reviewers just got a new girl or something. My waitress was courteous, was very prompt even though we came during the lunch rush, and made sure to let us know what was going on with our food while we waited. They dressed in T-shirts, short kilts, and flats, which is a fairly standard version of bar waitresses uniform, and I didn't get any 'slutty' vibes from them. Also in response to the 'stripper poles' some people said were by the bar: give me a break - I sat by those poles and they're far too thick and TEXTURED to be stripper poles. They were very very obviously load-bearing poles. Plus, they were closer to the kitchen than the bar, and went from the floor to ceiling - no stage. Therefore, even if they WERE stripper poles they were the worst designed and placed poles ever created. Give me a break. I have to say that the only major thing that I had a problem with was the music - they play the greatest hits of the back few decades, who while at one moment I was listening to "Simple Man," the next moment was "California Girls." If they can stick to rock hits I'd be a lot happier, but I don't go to a bar/restaurant to listen to the music anyway. Anyway, after that terribly long review I have to say that I still really enjoyed eating here, and will definitely return. If you want a wholesome Disney-esque restaurant, go to Outback. If you want a nice casual bar atmosphere with very tasty food, I really recommend Paddy Jack's. read more

This place is great! They have all kinds of grilled cheese sandwiches. It is also very kid friendly place even though it is kind of a bar atmosphere. The food was very good but took a little while to come out. Although in there defense it was packed the night we were in there. We went with a big group of friends and everyone tried something different and everyone love their sandwich. One complaint I would have is it is pretty pricy for grilled cheese. All the sandwich's are $9.99 plus beer and appetizer we were over $50 with a tip. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a new place to try out. I got the Memphis bbq sandwich which had pulled pork and mac and cheese on a grilled cheese, my wife got the loaded baked potato sandwich which had fries, bacon, sour cream and cheese on grilled cheese. 3 kids and 2 adults arrive around 6:15pm. Don't get our food till 7:15-7:20. Seen the waitress when she took our order and when she delivered it. The food was Great, but it was a horrible experience with all of the other options around, to wait an hour for a sandwich is way to long. For the young lady that waited on us, when your customers are staring at you to understand what is going on, a smile from the other side of the restaurant doesn't cut it. Would of been nice while we sat there for you to drop off a basket of fries or explain what was going on. For the management team, shame on you! The food was pretty good. Came out hot so you knew the potatoes were fresh made. Service was good to. I would just warn you against the extras. I asked for extra mushrooms on sandwich and was charged $2.99. Then I got tater tots instead of fries and was charged $2.99. Stopped in for a bite after golf league and upon entering the restaurant/bar was nothing fancy. Dimly lit and TVs litter the walls. Took a seat at the bar and was greeted soon after. However the bar staff was lacking experience and were not very timely in taking food orders, asking if i wanted another beer, etc...Ordered the Blue cheese burger once they finally decided to take my order and it was delivered in an acceptable time. The sandwich was on sourdough but the bread was way too thick. The burger patty could have been mistaken for a slice of arby's roast beef as it was almost lost inside the bread and cheese. Ok let me start with the sandwiches were really good. Great flavor & filling. BUT.......we ordered the fried calamari as our appetizer, we were NOT expecting 4 or even 5 star quality, but we were not expecting something out of a sea pak box from meijer and paying $10 for 12 of them. Not to mention its an APPETIZER, and it came after our meal LOL. Now lets mention the sticky floor from the time you walked into the front door & even in the womans bathroom and the fact the the table looked like they were wiped down with a dry cloth. Definitely dont eat anything off the table thats not off your metal tray. Lastly lets talk about the waitresses.......2 were ALWAYS by the cashregister texting on their phones & goofing off, one spent more time sitting on her but at the corner booth next to us flurting with 5 guys and ours checked on us once & we had to ask for our napkins. We have been to Paddy Jacks twice. The first visit was right after the remodel, we first noticed the Bar type setting. Mostly high top tables, 2 large bars and TV's everywhere you look. We were surprised to see such a change. It can get pretty loud. We were with friends so we had 4 orders, 2 of the 4 were brought to the table no prepared correctly. The servers were happy to take the meals back to have them remade. Over all the experience was OK, might be a better place to just go hang out, have a few beers and watch a game. No really a place to go have a meal. Second trip was just this week. Again visited Paddy Jacks with Friends, expecting that some of the kinks had been worked out. We order 4 meals, 3 sandwich meals and one salad. before our meal we ordered an appetizer, nothing special here just basic bar food appetizers. We ordered Mozzarella sticks. When we received the sticks the marinara sauce was very cold (ever dipped a hot cheese stick in to cold sauce and try to eat it?.. it is terrible), so cold that the serving cup was getting moisture around it, I promptly returned the sauce and received another that was warm at best. We received our meals and all 3 sandwiches were served with cold fries. The servers were happy to return them to the cook station for us and brought us new hot fries.. In all I would say that the restaurant is kitschy, very much a bar feel, the food is ok, nothing special here and just a tad over priced. Our family of 4 has Paddy Jack's on our restaurant rotation. We all can find multiple things we enjoy. Including my vegetarian 19 year old which can be difficult (she doesn't eat lettuce, beans or potatoes). Portions are good, I've never been able to eat my whole sandwich. Kept hearing about this place since the opening. To be honest I was not in any rush to try the place out. Eventually a friend told me I had to look at the menu on their website. We decided that night we were going for lunch the next day (they have half-off appetizers and $2 domestic beers all afternoon during the week). Three of us went on a tuesday or wed. around 2:00 and we sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and more than willing to answer any of our questions about the restaurant. Since the apps were cheap we all ordered one, and our sandwich of choice, and we shared everything. We got the grilled cheese shooters (awesome), pepper jack cubes (also awesome) and the jalapeno poppers (which were abover average). All of us agreed. We also ordered the roasted vegetable with jalapenos (we all liked it, but i would not order this again as a main entree for myself). also got the loco jack (which was amazing, and according to our server, one of the two best sellers). lastly we got the memphis jack, which featured pulled pork and mac'n cheese. (this was all of our favorite). This is one of our favorite places, and we have been telling everyone. None of us has been back,YET, but we all plan to come back real soon. I was sad to see Big Buddah's leave and didn't really understand what Paddy Jack's was until my co-workers took me there for lunch one day. It is basically grilled cheese sandwiches with added toppings on them. In my opinion, the sandwiches are fairly expensive for what you're really getting, however, the portions are more than enough for one sitting. There's never really that many people in the restaurant, at least around lunch time. There is a lunch special offered of a half sandwich (limited selection) and choice of soup for around $6 or $7 but I have never gotten it. I forget about it every time I go because it's just on the back of a menu that is not brought to your attention when seated. Overall, it's a decent value. It's not somewhere I frequently visit though. Note to management: The TV quality is horrible! The picture is very dark and pixelated. Definitely not coming from an HD source. Not somewhere I would come to watch a game, or anything at that! DO NOT GO THERE TO WATCH ANY GAMES. read more

The service is good, and the food is amazing!! We have been there many times and have never had a bad meal or service. The manager Brooke has remembered us every time we are there, and has paid special attention to us as if we're the only ones in the restaurant. The Calamari is the best we've ever had, and one could eat there every day for 3 weeks and never have the same meal twice. The alcoholic beverages are generous, and the vibe is overall friendly and casual. The wait staff is always pleasing to the eye, and you could not ask for a better variety of sports on the numerous televisions. Atmosphere - I don't have any problem with the plaid skirts but I get the feeling that they don't exactly hire their servers for their service experience. There are TV's everywhere but they aren't exactly in your face, so that's nice. There's a slick looking bar in the back that doesn't ever appear to be used. The music is absolutely terrible, I'm not sure what crowd their trying to appeal to with scantily clad ladies as servers and pop / club-pop music like Carly Ray Jebsen and Katie Perry. Food - The menu is pretty impressive. There are a lot of creative sandwiches and anyone should be able to find something that appeals to them. The base cheeses on the sandwiches are swiss and american or swiss and provolone which offers a good texture but not much flavor. If you're looking for something actually cheesy I suggest adding in some cheddar for a lot of the sandwiches. They say the tomato soup is made in house but it seemed pretty similar to a generic from the can tomato soup, fairly thin and kind of bland, you also don't get very much. I wouldn't advise paying the extra two bucks to substitute soup for the fries. The fries are pretty stellar, however. Drinks - This is where Paddy Jacks shines. If you're a beer drinker, you'll find a fairly decent selection of brews at reasonable prices. They have your standard tap beers that you'll find just about anywhere along with some stuff that I'm not sure I've seen anywhere else. Be warned, however, that even though they list flat prices for their bottled selections, they aren't true for all of the beers listed. I know the Framboise is $9.00 which is quite a bit more than $5.00 if you get a few. However their cocktails have not been good. I've heard good things about the martinis listed on the menu but good luck getting anything to com out right if it's not listed. During a recent trip my date ordered a Long Island and what she got was notably smaller then what you'd get anywhere else, about 50% Coke, and cost $7.00. Service - The service I've gotten there has been some of the worst I've gotten anywhere. I haven't noticed many negative reviews so maybe I've just been unlucky, I'll come back periodically and see if maybe it will improve over time. During one visit, a server who was taking a lot of time between visits said a few times that she had forgotten about us, which seems like a bad thing to tell diners. She forgot about us after dropping off our checks and went to the back to work on something, took her quite a while to wander back out and notice we were waiting for her to pick up our cards. On another visit we were seated for a good ten minutes before a server came to take our drink orders, at one point someone who appeared to be a manager came up and asked us if we'd seen a server, when we told her no she just walked away and took the order of someone who had just been seated. The server we ended up getting also ended up being fairly slow and at one point mentioned that she didn't have much to do and was bored (despite her infrequent visits). I've also had wrong sides or wrong bread for my sandwich each time I've been there so far. All in all it's at least a unique place to eat where you can get some good beer on tap. I'll definitely drop in from time to time to see if it has improved but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone as it is now. read more
