I contracted 3 movers for a 1bdr move that was 2 blocks away. Though I received 3 movers, only 2 of the movers seemed to be putting in full effort to move things quickly and carefully. The 3rd was remarkably slow, and I barely saw him at all. At one point, I even caught him leaning on the lobby apartment steps looking at his phone. Though the new location was only 2 blocks away, somehow my coffee table arrived broken. Though the main guy was apologetic about how it broke via transport, they only offered me $50 off as compensation (for a ~$300 coffee table). At the end of the move, I paid in cash and included a 17% tip off the total. The movers were visibly upset and asked for more money, which took me by surprise. They left disgruntled. The main mover apologized on behalf of the other two on the basis that they were new. He then asked me to write this review and insisted that I do it in front of him. I repeatedly expressed that I was not comfortable with this, he was quite persistent otherwise he would not receive his bonus--which I don't know if this is true, but I disapprove of any company that incentivizes extortion of reviews this way. Ultimately I caved, because I was intimidated by the possibility of retaliation and was in a rush to have these men out of my home. Given this experience, I would be wary of the other reviews on this platform that may have been submitted under similar circumstances.

Thank you sooooo much for making our move seamless. *Updating a day later, after fully unpacking.* My husband and I started unpacking as the movers were still moving things. We noticed three plates, a bowl, and a ramekin had been broken. We also noticed damage to our son's play kitchen. It was still functional, but broken. We were going to let it slide because we understand that things happen, but after we've fully unpacked, there were multiple vases that were broken in one box which held value and I am pretty upset about this. So maybe just some advice going forward, be more strategic with the way that you pack things.

I ended up having to drop the car off 3 weeks earlier than expected and it was not a problem. When I dropped off the car, Alex and Alan were super assertive in explaining how the car would be stored. I also ended up picking up the car earlier than expected and they had my car ready within the hour and I got to keep the car cover and battery tender I bought for next time. I also liked the fact that Stephanie kept my contract open in the event I needed to bring the car back, she was so accommodating. I will ABSOLUTELY be using this service again !!!

They have a generous grace period during which they send out several reminders. They are in the business of providing rental storage units, not seizing property. Also of note, during Covid, before we knew that we could claim unemployment we were worried about our bills and paying them in time. I called Enterprise at that time to inquire what would happen if I was late and they informed me that they were freezing all seizures during the lockdown. This is a solid, ethical business and I would recommend them to anyone.

It's not immediately clear where to go and what to do but they have plenty of staff to direct you. They asked me to empty my different types of bottles (clear glass, colorful glass, plastic) into three large cylindrical barrels before they weighed them. I can see what other reviewers are saying about how they don't fully put the container on the scale to ascertain the full weight of the bottles. They hand you a receipt after weighing and you take it to the window to cash out. They ask you to sign the receipt before giving you the money. All in all, it's an easy process and I'm not sure it's worth the trouble because I don't have that much to recycle at a time but it might make sense for the people sorting pickup trucks' worth of recycling. Pro tip: Sort your recycling in advance so when you get to the recycle center, you just have to dump it into one of the barrels and not sort it on site.

There a lot of well reviewed moving company on Yelp, I went with Packman Moving Company because Denis on the phone was very professional, clear and good communicator . So I hoped if they had that much attention to detail ahead of the move maybe that was a green flag for the service itself . Spoilers - I was right They were great-professionals , courteous , and efficient , and fulfilled their job throughout the whole gig . They initially did the walk through of what needed to be packed and make sure we had everything packed before we heading out to our new place. They weren't hasty and for 4 guys had communicated a team work effort .Would definitely recommend and hire them again. Handled my items with great care were fun to chat with guys as well which makes a long work move Better. Very flexible on the arrival time . As I requested the come at the afternoon window time and was hard work making sure the job was done ,even through the late evening and did everything very professionally with great attitude and smile . They were also good with helping me pack a few of of very old and valuable items with wrap and putting small things into a bigger box . At the end they got everything into place , unwrapped everything they had in protective wrapping , cleared out all of the trash and cleaned up everything else trash and stuff. Now, I know what you're thinking...this is a nice write-up...shit sound fake. Well it's not, cuz I just cussed. If this was fake, I wouldn't be saying no bad words. I'm also going to mention a few mishaps with the move because shit happens and the real world isn't all sunshine and rainbows: - my fridge got a small ding. It's a big-ass fridge that they had to bring down a skinny flight of stairs, then squeeze through a tiny doorway at my new place. I ain't mad. Again, not upset because these are huge appliances (washer, dryer, fridge) they had to squeeze around narrow hallways, stairs and corners. Which was very difficult and challenging time for the team but they did it best they can . Overall minor mishaps don't take away from the hard work these guys did. They tried to be as careful as possible, and were constantly calling things out like 'watch the wall," "don't hit the chandelier"... know they were really trying their best to watch out for my stuff without damaging the buildings. Shoot, if it were me trying to move this stuff by myself, all my walls and floors would be smashed and my appliances would look like they fell off the truck. This is why you hire professionals, and that why I would hire Packman moving company again if I need some heave lifting done. And some more things I forget to mention, they have very competitive pricing if you check it with other companies around . The Lead of the team on our move was so good and professional I would asked for him the second time . As you all know moving is an absolute headache, but they really helped make it smoother transaction . I absolutely recommend them if you are looking to move . Book with confidence . I recently used Packman Moving Company for my move and I cannot say enough good things about them! From start to finish, they were professional, efficient, and just made the whole process so easy for me. The process started with a quick phone call to set up an estimate. The estimator was friendly and knowledgeable and provided me with a clear and concise quote. The price was very reasonable compared to other companies I had researched. On moving day, the crew arrived on time and ready to work. They were all dressed in uniform and looked very professional. They were all very friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy what they were doing. They started by carefully wrapping all of my furniture and fragile items in moving blankets and shrink wrap. They even provided me with a few wardrobe boxes to use for my hanging clothes, which was a nice touch. The move itself was flawless. Got a quote from Denis. He was so patient, helpful and upfront about estimated costs and emailed me a quote. A week later I called back and spoke with Art to book the move. Art pulled up my info from before so I didn't have to waste time repeating everything. Art was very reassuring about any worries and answered all the remaining questions I had. I confirmed the service through email and paid a deposit that was deducted from the final bill. It was really easy. Day of moving, Mark and Mike arrived on time - early in the morning. They were very upbeat, affable and professional. The company was so modernized, Mark had an iPad for me to sign at the start of the job and the time was tracked on the iPad. Mark and Mike wrapped and packed everything with great care. They were so polite and well-mannered that even my mom loved them! The packing and move took many hours and you could tell it was very hard physical work. Yet Mark and Mike remained good spirited, calm and motivated the entire day. Their great attitude really helped with the stressful day. I was so happy and relieved once all my things were in my new place. Mark had me sign off on the job on his iPad, and the final costs were clearly itemized. Not bad, but wouldn't hire again. The good: our stuff got moved. The bad: they dropped several pieces of furniture down our stairs. I understand one but two or so (and giggling about it) isn't good. They did not cover the stairs as every other professional moving company we've had ever has done. The result: us having to pay extra in both homes to clean the carpets. They left the floors exceptionally dirty. They lost the cushions to our outdoor couch so now we have to replace that ($200) as well. They didn't wrap the tv or expesenive art. They sat in our lounge chairs and smoked when taking breaks. It felt unprofessional... They didn't unwrap the furniture they did pack which again was a first. We had to ask them to put couch back together which is standard. The kicker? After one of the movers took a stinky shit in our new home's bathroom and left dirty footprints all over the new white floor, the foreman hovered over us to make sure we left a five star review. We regret hiring them. It's possible other crews do a better job, but after they left and we saw the missing items and damage... we were bummed to say the least. Packman Movers From the start, the owner/ manager was very clear and up-front about pricing, and all paperwork was done in a professional, user-friendly manner before hand, online. There was excellent communication (THE most important quality I look for in a hired service) from beginning to end. The two gentlemen that showed up were very professional- friendly and smiling, and introduced themselves as Mark and (I'm sorry-I forgot the other gentleman's name ) I was given a one hour window of when they would arrive and they drove up within that window. They boxed and taped and secured everything that wasn't perfectly secured by myself. They laughed and joked with each other, as well as with me, the entire time which definitely helped with the anxiety I had going on that just happens with moving, etc. At the new place they asked where I wanted them to place boxes/items before they set them down, took apart my bed and bed frame at my old place and set it back up at the new place in a jiff. No hidden fees were encountered (which was a pretty big fear of mine). David and his team were amazing! Three big and strong guys came in time. They wrap all of my furniture in a minutes. They reassemble all huge items to make it path through narrow hallways with care. The whole process took only 6 hours which i would considered very fast for 3 bedroom home. If I remember correctly last time we did the moving it was 8-9 hours . This guys was was above and beyond my expectations. Both loading and unloading process were made in a very accurate way . They didn't touch any single wall while carrying all the belongings same goes for floor. The whole team were looking professional they were uniformed , the track was clean and all the appliances that thy used were new and nice . Overall I am very recommending the following company . Mark, Art, and Roma helped us move our life (two adults in their late 30s and two small children) yesterday and I can't get over what a great day it was (for a moving day....). They were literally the most amazing dudes in every capacity... Hard-working, strategic, efficient, careful, and also kind, warm, and sweet. They didn't even ding one piece of furniture or a wall. They cared for every item as if it were their own and did it all with positive energy! They were very reasonably priced as well. You're a fool to go with any other company! And for what it's worth, while I know nothing of the company (Packman), the boys spoke very highly of their employer and I think that speaks volumes!! I can't say enough how incredible SOS moving was in helping my wife and move into our new place. Jose, Benny, and Freddy were so kind, helpful, and patient, and of course SO fast. We had an unreal amount of stuff crammed into our two bedroom condo, and they had everything safely wrapped and moved quickly without seeming rushed or stressful (which is super important when moving - gotta keep the stress down). Arrival at my destination, not such a great experience and this is where the communication faltered. I paid to have the street parking reserved for both pick up and drop off. It was just going to be easier as parking in both neighborhoods would have been a nightmare and they would have ended up blocking the streets. I also paid them extra to arrive 2 days behind me (them storing my items). They didn't leave the starting point on time, so they messaged me that they were going to be a day late. Not good after I paid over $150 to reserve street parking. They understood this and made an effort to get to my destination on time and almost made it. Sadly they didn't arrive until after 6pm, which was the cut off for reserving parking. Because of this the blocked the street and briefly the garage of the neighboring building. So would I recommend them? Yes. But I would also recommend setting very clear expectations.

They were professional and efficient, but the company they work for, "Reliable Movers," was a complete nightmare to deal with. Avoid them at all costs. First, they arrived earlier than requested. When I called dispatch to sort out the schedule mishap, the dispatcher completely escalated the situation. She refused to listen, threw a tantrum screaming "Don't scream on me!", hung up on me, and refused to take my calls. Instead, she sent unprofessional text messages about her feelings rather than actually assisting a paying customer. Worse, the original mover, Sean, showed an appalling lack of respect and communication. I explicitly asked him not to touch a box containing my father's ashes. He ignored me, picked up the urn, and tossed it into a box like a common vase. When I stepped in to take the urn into my own possession, Sean defensively snapped, "We can cancel this move," walked off the job, and drove home--leaving my belongings sitting in his truck in the middle of the street. This company is entirely disorganized. Every manager I spoke to had no clue who I was or what was happening. Furthermore, their pricing is incredibly predatory. They advertise as a full packing service but nickel-and-dime you for everything (charging extra for boxes and travel). Worst of all, they demand a ridiculous 10% surcharge if you pay via Zelle or Venmo. To put that in perspective: standard business transaction fees for these apps are only around 1.9% to 3.5%. By charging 10%, they are pocketing a massive markup as pure profit or using it as a bullying tactic to force cash payments. For example, on a $1,000 move, a legitimate business fee would be around $19, but they are forcing customers to pay $100. Management eventually sent Papona and Nurlan to rescue the job, and they did a wonderful job. However, two good employees cannot make up for a company that treats customers with utter disrespect and employs shady financial tactics. Save yourself the stress and avoid this company at all costs. Though I like Papona, I didn't appreciate him asking for a tip. He even asked for my number to follow up on the tip. Tips are courtesy not mandatory.

The reason I am giving them five now is because I just used a different local moving company to pack my apartment and load a truck I rented, and I was highly dissatisfied with the service. I won't name this business, but the work did not reflect the cost and I wouldn't recommend that business to anyone. Comparing it to my experience with Stear, I knew I had to sit down and write the review. In July of 2021 I hired two workers to pack my 1 bedroom apartment, load their own truck, unload the truck at my new apartment, AND they drove the truck over to the nearby Goodwill so I could drop off four pieces of large furniture that I was donating for no extra charge. It took a total of 6 hours (my new apartment was only a few streets from my old one), and cost $800 pre-tip. One of the guys definitely worked his ass off the entire time, but I saw the other guy on his phone many times and slowly packing items. My roommate said she saw him chilling downstairs over to the side, and when he saw her he pretended to be working. That was the reason I was going to knock them down a star. But again, comparing the amount of work they got done in the time they did, and at the price they did it, to that of the company I just used, I am locking in at five stars. On top of that, all items were wrapped well enough that nothing was broken in the move, nor was I worried about it. They also knew obvious things like "wrap glass in wrapping paper before packing" and "don't pack living plants in boxes". That is in stark contrast to my recent experience. Here's a breakdown so you can get an idea of the competition: Stear (2021): -hired to pack 1 bedroom apartment and move items to new apartment (0.3 miles away) -I had more items in this move -they drove to a second location so I could drop off some furniture to be donated -all boxes and wrapping materials included in rate -2 men -I hardly did any work -$800 total -6 hours total Company #2 (2022): -hired to pack 1 bedroom apartment and load truck I rented -I didn't have items to donate and I had less items in this move -my dad and I were helping by packing and organizing the entire time -charged per box, wrapping materials "included" but they didn't have wrapping paper for fragile items (they used mine from my last move) -3 men (plus my dad and me) -they only had to pack and load a truck, didn't have to drive it anywhere -$700 total (was going to give me a "discount" at $760, I was like no) -4 hours 50 minutes total
