I contracted 3 movers for a 1bdr move that was 2 blocks away. Though I received 3 movers, only 2 of the movers seemed to be putting in full effort to move things quickly and carefully. The 3rd was remarkably slow, and I barely saw him at all. At one point, I even caught him leaning on the lobby apartment steps looking at his phone. Though the new location was only 2 blocks away, somehow my coffee table arrived broken. Though the main guy was apologetic about how it broke via transport, they only offered me $50 off as compensation (for a ~$300 coffee table). At the end of the move, I paid in cash and included a 17% tip off the total. The movers were visibly upset and asked for more money, which took me by surprise. They left disgruntled. The main mover apologized on behalf of the other two on the basis that they were new. He then asked me to write this review and insisted that I do it in front of him. I repeatedly expressed that I was not comfortable with this, he was quite persistent otherwise he would not receive his bonus--which I don't know if this is true, but I disapprove of any company that incentivizes extortion of reviews this way. Ultimately I caved, because I was intimidated by the possibility of retaliation and was in a rush to have these men out of my home. Given this experience, I would be wary of the other reviews on this platform that may have been submitted under similar circumstances.

We noticed three plates, a bowl, and a ramekin had been broken. We also noticed damage to our son's play kitchen. It was still functional, but broken. We were going to let it slide because we understand that things happen, but after we've fully unpacked, there were multiple vases that were broken in one box which held value and I am pretty upset about this. So maybe just some advice going forward, be more strategic with the way that you pack things.

I also ended up picking up the car earlier than expected and they had my car ready within the hour and I got to keep the car cover and battery tender I bought for next time. They have a generous grace period during which they send out several reminders. They are in the business of providing rental storage units, not seizing property. Also of note, during Covid, before we knew that we could claim unemployment we were worried about our bills and paying them in time. I called Enterprise at that time to inquire what would happen if I was late and they informed me that they were freezing all seizures during the lockdown. This is a solid, ethical business and I would recommend them to anyone.

They asked me to empty my different types of bottles (clear glass, colorful glass, plastic) into three large cylindrical barrels before they weighed them. I can see what other reviewers are saying about how they don't fully put the container on the scale to ascertain the full weight of the bottles. They hand you a receipt after weighing and you take it to the window to cash out. They ask you to sign the receipt before giving you the money. All in all, it's an easy process and I'm not sure it's worth the trouble because I don't have that much to recycle at a time but it might make sense for the people sorting pickup trucks' worth of recycling. Pro tip: Sort your recycling in advance so when you get to the recycle center, you just have to dump it into one of the barrels and not sort it on site.

Do not use this company. As close to a scam as you can get without getting your stuff stolen. Multiple lies, misquotes, and violations of written contract throughout with minimal effort to make it right. We booked a move from California to Nebraska. We were quoted a two day drive, which seems reasonable. Our stuff was to be picked up Monday, and delivered two days later, which I was estimating to be Thursday morning. Our stuff was picked up Monday and packed quickly, which was great. From there, nothing went properly or as they stated. We worked with Bobby initially, who called on Tuesday to ask if we could delay, we explained we could not, he understood and talked to his owner and said truck would leave next day, causing only a one day delay, which was fine. When I tried to confirm Wednesday the truck was leaving, Bobby confirmed it was leaving the following day, Thursday. This was unacceptable and we spoke to him. The following day, Thursday, he confirmed they were leaving Thursday afternoon. Again, unacceptable and not what we agreed upon. In an effort to make it right, they offered us a $100 discount, which is just over 1% of our total costs. Bobby said he would speak to his owner who we eventually got his contact info to speak with. The owner, Henry, who also owns SOS Moving, was condescending, sexist, and rude, not caring about the situation he put us in. He told us the truck was leaving Friday, that they had to unload into the other truck, which is not in our written contract. We were to have a single truck with our items, no other person's property with our property. He later told us on Friday that the truck was on its way, in Utah. He offered us $300, which is just over 3% of our costs, again, not acceptable. Then stated that $500 (under 6% of total costs) was the best he could do. I spoke to him later and he stood firm on the $500, refusing to acknowledge they did anything wrong outside of loading our stuff onto another truck. (Take 4x the amount of time quoted to deliver our items) He said he offered a discount for that violation of the written contract and when I asked about the other lies and information, he responded "What other stuff?" He ended the call with me after I cursed, although I was not irate or yelling at him, rather being stern as he was disrespectful throughout. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday we did not hear a thing from either Bobby or Henry, despite Henry stating our stuff should be there Sunday. Monday evening we did some Googling and found Bobby's personal cell, and were finally able to reach someone. We were then told the driver's name and number and that they would arrive the following morning. When the driver arrived, I asked him when he left LA, he said he picked up the items in Arizona on Sunday, that he left Dallas on Friday with an empty truck, loaded another person's property onto his truck and then ours, leaving Arizona on Sunday. Again, another lie from Henry and his company. Our furniture was also damaged including a shattered tall mirror (which the driver paid out of pocket for) and severely scratched wooden furniture and custom pieces. They have put in minimal effort and have shown zero remorse or empathy for their inability to follow-through on what they sold. I could have went with another company for $2,500 less. We are currently working with an attorney for court purposes and will be working to settle this matter legally unless they can make this right. Cannot speak more highly of these guys. I rarely write reviews but in this case people NEED TO KNOW. Super nice, super FAST delivery guys. The owner was kind, clear and courteous before moving day... providing an itemized estimate and answered all my questions. The guys that showed up were masked and super safe. Handled my stuff with care. Shrinkwrapped everything. Held my television like a baby. I was moving from a furnished apartment to an unfurnished apartment and Ian and his partner were so accommodating while I scatterbrained-ly explained what needed to go and what needed to stay. They even went down to the mailroom at the new building to help carry up any packages of new furniture that arrived. The entire thing took LESS THAN THREE HOURS. When he said he was finished, my jaw dropped. I have NEVER had a move take less than five hours and have always been exhausted by the end. Found this moving company after some googling. Originally, Contacted "GOAT movers" but they connected me to this group. The 3 man crew showed up within the scheduled window to our place in Westwood and got right to work. We had our entire place packed in boxes already, except for the furniture, which they wrapped all in pads and several passes of the shrink wrapping to secure and protect everything. They moved fast all while carefully moving our belongings, even when our building's elevator decided to temporarily stop working and had to take a few trips using the stairs. Once we got to our new place, they quickly and carefully unloaded everything. They also had me check the truck to make sure nothing was left behind. Overall, these guys were amazing and I highly recommend using their services. Baur, Suny, and Yuri were the most professional and efficient movers ever. My fiancé and I had a good amount of things to move from a 2 bedroom apt and a garage full of furniture and misc things. These three came in and were all business for several hours straight. We had some move arounds that we had to adjust while arriving at the house and they were amazing. We literally called Eagle Star Moving at 2:30 pm on Friday, and at 9:00 am on Saturday they moved us from the 1800PackRat warehouse (a 16 ft unit) in Van Nuys to our place in North Hollywood. In under 3 hours! They set up our adjustable base bed. They were professional, quick, and kind. They also had to deal with walking from an alley through a pebbled maze of shrubbery to get to our front door. They did not once complain. They were machines! Additional they were affordable. These guys are amazing! First of all they are very experienced, they are very careful with every piece of your furniture just like it was theirs. Second, they take time to wrap everything up nice and clean, then same thing applies when off loading. Third, after they are done with putting all the furniture back together, they clean up very nicely to wrap things up. We had stuff go down stairs in the old place and upstairs in the new place -- everything was packaged professionally and arrived to our new place safely.
