Best bakery for a special occasion! Made our day more special!
Deborah N.

Baby shower cake was amazing! Our guests couldn't stop talking about it. My family will go out of their way just to get cake from them. It's the best cake ever!

Packanack Bakery is still at the top of their game. I gave them a 5 star review over 6 years ago and nothing has changed. Top notch quality at affordable prices. I recently custom ordered a Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake and it was outstanding. Moist chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and crumbled peanut butter cups on the outside. The amazing thing is that the cake isn't too sweet. Highly recommend. Everything else is great as well. Pies, donuts, pastries etc.

Amazing crumb cake. The cake is more of the star than the crumbs. Busy on Sundays. Out of donuts early. Need to try them next time

A great local bakery. The smell of sweet baked goods always gets me. It's a small shop filled with a grand amount of sweets from lemon cakes , donuts , cookies of all kinds to apple desserts. Had great service when I popped in. The chocolate chip cookies are the perfect mix of soft and chewy goodness. The same goes for their oatmeal and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. Great size too- they are huge! It was perfect haha I also had the plain brownie which was yumm. Honestly took one photo of my chocolate chip cookie and forgot about the rest. If you're looking for a bakery - this is the one!

I needed to stop to get bread for cold cuts and ended up pulling in here. Everything looked delicious so apart from the fresh Portuguese rolls - I decided to get a small box of the various crumb cakes they had. I got crumb & cheese, classic crumb, chocolate bits and banana bread. My favorite was the cheese & crumb and least favorite was chocolate - but that's just me. They also had pastries, ice cream cakes, regular cakes and cookies. I will definitely be coming back to try more!

The best bakery in Wayne!!! The crumb cake is to die for. Couldn't recommend this spot enough.

Mocha cake ! Yum! Fresh

Best fresh mocha cake around! Last year we ordered the same cake from local bakery and it was stale. Packanack bakery was worth the drive! After all birthday cake is only once a year so it's gotta be great. This was excellent!

Confetti Cake -- cake topper purchased elsewhere.

I went in for their confetti sprinkle cake and I'm glad I also walked out with a donut. I'll never eat donuts the same because theirs are SO good. The cake itself smelled fresh and tasty. And sure enough when it came time to cut it, it was delicious! I am so pleased with the quality and service I received. Kudos to this bakery and their staff for such excellent work!

Like a New York bakery, but better. Great fonts and crumb. Great service. Feels lime I'm back in queens when I stop in.

I love this bakery's food! This weekend I picked up a cinnamon donut latte to give me a little wake…read moreup. It was topped with a mini munchkin donut. The latte was flavorful but a little more bitter than I prefer. I also picked up some cookies. They had a good combination of jelly and cookie base with chocolate and sprinkles on one end. Every time I go in, they never have apple danish rings left but this time I was in luck. Absolutely delicious. I also tried 3 different sandwiches this time. The typical Italian sub w ham, salami and provolone. I did want banana peppers on it but they said they don't carry those. I chose it on the semolina bread. It was fantastic. I also ordered the hot roast beef sub. It came with mushrooms onions and cheese topped with gravy. The gravy was absolutely delicious but the roast beef was ok. I also ordered the chicken parm with the vodka arrabiata sauce. It was absolutely amazing. The only thing I don't love about that place is the way the lines are set up. When it's busy, you can't just place your order and keep going down the line to add it all onto one order. I had to pay 3 separate times, which is annoying. There didn't seem to be a flow with the direction of the lines. They were a little bit all over the place.

Smaller version of a NY Cheesecake but tastes lighter. - Tiramisu cake - 4.5/5 stars. Very tasty and light. Her cousin, Tiramisu in a cup stole the show, though. 5/5 if I hadn't had her cousin. - Tiramisu cup - 5/5 stars. You are treated to a masterpiece. The mascarpone, the shot of coffee, the sweetness of the creame all play exquisitely well together. - Fruit Tart - 4/5 stars. Fresh berries were ripe and sweet. The crust was not soggy, at all. The custard was smooth and exceptional. - Creme Brulee - 4.5/5 stars. Not overly sweet and pure bliss. The top lager of touched crust, didn't hold up to the travel, sadly. It was soft but still delightful. - Custard cup - 4.5/5 stars. This reminded me of a Portuguese egg tart but better. - Giant horn - 5/5 stars. The outside crust was flaky and perfect. The inside filling was the perfect balance as it was silky smooth and delightful. Not overly sweet which pairs perfectly with coffee or tea. Stop reading this review and go get your edible delights.

The Italian bakery has remained a mainstay among the Garden State institutions since the arrival of…read moreItalian immigrants in the early 20th century. They brought with them the best of mostly southern Italian and Sicilian pastries, cakes, and cookies. These delicacies all share a mixed past, some equally as French as they are Italian, and others showing Arabic-Sicilian influence. Many of the items continue to be made in the Italian tradition, while others have morphed into something uniquely Italian-American. Located off 46 East in Fairfield, this family-owned and operated establishment, founded in 1962, is one of our favorites for sweet desserts and Italian pastries. Upon arriving on this Christmas Day at Calandra's Italian and French Bakery, a steady stream of patrons entered its door to an interior space big and nicely designed, awaiting their turns on several available lines. On display in their numerous cases, there were cookies to cannolis, an assortment of cookies, pies, cakes, custom cakes, jarred sauces, and homemade pasta. I decided on a coconut custard pie, a pecan pie, and several pasteis de nata. Everything was so good and simply amazing, with a variety of freshly baked goods that cater to all tastes, especially the pasteis, just how the bakeries in Newark's Ironbound district make them. Will definitely be returning here for the next event.
