tl;dr: Still bad but for entirely different reasons: now praying my pizza wasn't delivered with a side of COVID along with the snark. Despite issues with last pizza, I really wanted pizza delivery tonight. So I thought I'd give Pacifica a third chance. My mistake. I ordered (using the Slice app) pepperoni and olives on the theory that the pizza might have discernable toppings if I avoided "fancy" things like artichokes and sausage. That proved correct, the pizza was as ordered, reasonably OK, and semi-warm. However: delivery guy told me that I was "technically" outside the service area and I was "lucky" they were super slow tonight and that's why they were able to deliver as a "special favor." (This after Slice confirmed my address and advised that they were "very busy" causing delivery to take 75 minutes) and that I shouldn't "expect delivery in the future." MUCH WORSE IS THAT HE WAS WEARING NO MASK. HE CARRIED MY FOOD AND BREATHED ON IT WITH NO MASK. I order food delivery because I am at high risk. Although I washed up after opening the carton and before eating the pizza, I feel that I have been placed at unnecessary risk by the actions of the (extremely snarky) delivery person. This is my 8th and final review for Pacifica Pizza. I have had a long off and on love affair with Pacifica Pizza. Tonight I decided that it has to end..... Jonathon the hand tossing pizza god is no longer there, he sold his half of the business to the other partner. My crush is over. and even if Jonathon the hand tossing pizza god was still there.... I would still have to end my Pacifica Pizza affair. Tonight when my daughter and I went in to pick up our pizza the sweet pizza girl who I has been making our pizza for about a year was attempting to hand toss a pizza in the air. (I am sorry for ratting you out.)But when our pizza was done she took our pizza out of the oven, sliced it, boxed it, rung us up, I paid cash, she gave me my change, then with out washing her hands or wearing gloves she went back to hand tossing the pizza. So I decided to give this place a second shot since its close to the house and under new management. (Had previously ordered and was very disappointed with the appearance and taste.) I spoke to the manager and informed him that I had a bad previous experiences and would like to give it another shot. He made it sound like I was going to get a great looking pizza, properly cooked - which was not the case! Opened the box (pics included) and it was a great disappointment! Ordered a 1/2 cheese (asked to extra cheese) and 1/2 veggie gourmet. The pizza looked like someone threw all the toppings on there. When I called them back, the manager answered and I explained him about the horrible looking and half cooked pizza. He didn't seem to be too interested in listening to my concerns let alone offer to remake it. I informed him very nicely that I would never order from this place again. Again, he was very nonchalant said OK. I made a point to ask if The owner was present so I could speak to them but he said they were busy and hung up the phone. I was stuck working an unexpected double shift, offsite from my regular workplace. I called and ordered the price buster combination pizza, with no cheese. Had it delivered. When the pizza was delivered, it was still hot and very delicious. Had pizza for lunch and dinner for my work shift and plenty of pizza to share and left over. I would highly recommend them. I'm over at my friends house and we needed to feed the kids so we ordered a pizza. Pizza came burnt beyond what any reasonable person would consider even moderately ok. When we called to resolve the situation we were told that it would just be easier to refund our money rather than make a new one and rectifying the situation because "they are so busy". I managed restaurants for years and would immediately fire anyone that told a customer this. In this situation a pizza that was burnt should have never been sent out in the first place but mistakes happen and when you have a group of people that are now left with no food and a bad opinion of your business that's not good. We've ordered twice from Pacifica Pizza in Martinez - once delivery (to Five Suns Brewery) and once in-person order and carry-out. Both times the pizza was perfectly topped and perfectly cooked. Kona Coast Pizza is what the bad devil on your left shoulder would tell you what to buy from here. I listened to him and was happy with my glutinous choice. The Kona Coast Pizza consists of Canadian Bacon, Bacon Bits, Dole Pineapple, Green Onions, and Extra Cheese. Its the porkiest Hawaiian Pizza you will ever eat. The crust is fabulous too. They dropped by a coupon in my mail box and we decided to give them a try. When I called in the order the guy answering was not the most outgoing and friendly but the delivery girl was really nice. Its also located with in walking distance of my house so if I ever want to walk down there and then burn the calories off on the way back it works out perfectly. This is a toss up between my Mingles Pizza. I think we are going to have to alternate pizza places for a while. read more

Pacifica pizza is not welcoming towards service teams. My service dog and I have been refused service. The receipt for my pick up order was already printed when CAROL THE OWNER requested I take my service dog outside. She stated he wasn't properly identified but was unwilling to allow me to provide her with his certification. She proceeded to say that she was allowed to refuse service. Seeing as the OWNER doesn't know her rights OR mine...I will take the time to educate her and insist she do the same to ensure she does not cause the heart ache and embarrassment I was forced to encounter. The price on the menu was $8.00 less then what they are trying to charge you!!?? When my wife explained the price she saw online Jose told her the sight is outdated ...... ??? He can't honor that price! When my wife said sorry you have not updated your website that's not my fault and you should honor the price your advertising. I only lived in Martinez for a short time, but I ordered pizza from here quite a few times. I actually yelp'd pizza places in Martinez, that's how I settled on this place. The pizza isn't bad, but it was kind of plain. I think it may have been the cheese they used or something. I grew up on this place. I've known many people who've worked there over the years and it was never really great but a good pizza that was consistent. About 6 years ago (2008) I moved to Pittsburg and had to find a new local pizza spot. Every time I was back in town every so often we'd at least get some of the famous Pacifica breadsticks. If you've been around Martinez for a while you know the ones. The foil t brick of garlic parmesan sticks you could only get from Pacifica. Side note tho, a couple times we DID get pizza and sometimes it was really good, and sometimes it was really undercooked and doughy. But this review is about bread sticks. About a year and half ago I moved to Eureka Ca. and had almost forgotten all about Pacifica and their bread sticks. Recently I was back home in Martinez and thought he bread sticks! So I called down the street and ordered a large breadstick order. 15 minutes later I go down there to pick them up and they give me a pizza box. I was like WTF is this? There's two pimply teenagers working there and they say this is what I ordered.. cheesy bread sticks. I went on to explain to him what they're supposed to be. Little sticks of dough coated in garlic butter and sprinkled with parmesan cheese then wrapped in big bundle in foil. He didn't know what the fuck I was talking about but the other kid was like "Oh yea Chucky or whoever (who is an older employee that remembers the old bread sticks. I made up the name Chucky) made them once" Apparently this place has changed owners a bazillion times since I went there last and some moron thought that making bread sticks like every other pizza place in the world would be better than actually having a good and unique product. The kid was like "these are good I promise" and I replied "I'm sure they are, that's why every other pizza place makes them this way" and left disappointed. I was having a birthday party for my daughter who turned 3 at the Rankin Aquatic Center. I called the day before and Larissa who is one of the managers helped me pick out the right amount of pizza for the party. The pizzas were delivered on time, hot and fresh. We had the funky chunky chicken, price buster, cheese, pepperoni and the kona coast which were all delicious. I would definitely recommend this place. Update: After the last review, I thought I was done with this Pacifica. Yet, the owner of the business went above and beyond the call of duty, which really caught my attention. I explained my experience, and picked up a pizza from them. This one was just right, not burned and not like rubber. Service was excellent, and convincing enough to come back.
