Overall: Based on recommendations and reviews, we knew going into our project with Pacifica that we were going to be satisfied...and yet they still managed to exceed our expectations! Scheduling: Working with Baxter was extremely smooth. We had a separate landscape designer who referred us to Pacifica and given their working relationship Baxter showed up with a great understanding of the project and detailed bid. First intro meeting was in mid-August and Baxter committed to finishing project by end of October, which seemed like a very reasonable lead-time. The project ended up taking a little less than 2 weeks and they finished right on time at the end of October. Great sign that you can trust these guys to deliver! Scope of Project: - Built retaining wall in front yard - New path way with pavers - New fence in front yard - Drip irrigation system throughout planters - Sourced and planted all plants - Artificial grass in fenced-in area As mentioned above we already had a landscape design, however Baxter was very helpful in suggesting and accommodating minor tweaks (e.g. style/color of pavers, dimensions of fence area). When we first met with him we talked about a few options for pavers and artificial grass and later that day his team dropped off samples. He took detailed notes and when the project was underway, we saw how the team worked off of a direct copy of Baxter's notes. Project Work: We primarily worked with Ian, Carmelo, and Rodolfo - and these guys are awesome! We were amazed at how quickly they knocked out each phase given how beautiful and precise the work product was. We had so much fun starting each day hearing what they were planning on tackling, and then coming home in the evening and seeing how much progress was made! Perhaps the best part of working with Pacifica is their focus on ensuring their customer is 100% satisfied. One example - our original design had dark gray pavers for the pathway and similarly-colored steps. We chose a different color for the pavers but overlooked changing the color of the steps. At the end of the day, Ian walked through the progress and when we got to the steps, he suggested that if we wanted a different color they could make the change easily. We felt bad making them re-do the work, but Ian insisted on making sure we were fully satisfied. Samples were dropped off later in the evening and by the next day - new steps installed! Bottom Line: I can't recommend Pacifica highly enough! Trust that you're dealing with professionals who truly care about customer service and making sure you're 100% satisfied. We couldn't have had a better experience in working with Baxter--from beginning to end. We had a tight timeline as I was in the 3rd trimester with our second child and hoped for our new patio to be put in before the little one's arrival. Baxter and his team were able to accommodate that timeline, designed and installed an absolutely gorgeous patio, and we were able to spend the summer enjoying it. On top of being the highest caliber professional, Baxter is one of the most charming people I've ever met in real life (our 2 year old is smitten with him). We all know that you usually get what you pay for in life (most of the time). It's the same thing with landscape design & work. You pay a cheaper price, you get a lesser quality. Pacifica Landscapes is a little more affordable than others in the area. But soon enough I learned that I would have to pay for my mistake. I could easily name a few items that were placed in the wrong area, even as a housewife... And communication with them has been like pulling teeth. So I ended up just giving up on them, which is what they wanted anyway. I shall learn my lesson! read more

I left another review a couple of years ago for the job that Pacifica did renovating our backyard. Just wanted to add: at some point over the last winter, I broke the irrigation system they installed by over tightening the connection to the timer. I emailed Baxter for referrals or info about how to fix it, and he sent over his project manager a couple of days later who just took care of it himself in about five minutes. Working with Baxter and the team at Pacifica was great - there were no surprises going from the planning and agreement phase to them working on site. The crew was friendly and worked efficiently, and everything went as well as we could have hoped. My only (small) complaint is that they weren't able to start work as early as we had discussed, but of course it was made clear that was just an estimate anyway. I met with Baxter late last summer (2017) to redesign our landscape (front & back). We live on a rocky hill and the design called for, among other things, new plants, lights, drip irrigation and reconfiguring our back patio. So far the results look great.
