Dr Plotista is a very caring and detailed chiropractor! He typically does your first appointment a bit longer and will show you around the office and get you used to the clinic. His visits always involve stretching, some sort of massage or myofascial release, and then your adjustment. Dr Plotista has let me come in last minute for a pinched nerve, accommodated my screaming newborn in the background, and is always exceptionally nice and professional. Doc Z is fantastic. Still can't say enough great things about him. Interestingly enough, he is now taking care of an injury for myself and I am submitting my own Yelp review. Not for my husband this time - go figure. I went to see him several weeks ago because of neck pain and sporadic arm numbness. Doc Z gave me a quick adjustment and an assessment. He thought I had a pinched nerve in my neck. He immediately put me in a neckbrace and asked me to wear it for three weeks to see if we could get some of the pressure off of what he thought was very irritated nerve. Sometimes the simple things are the best things and hopefully this would fix itself. That sounded great to me. I would come to see him every other day for adjustments and see if we could help things along with my pain as well. Good plan. I had to go see my chronic pain doctor for something else in the meantime, and he noticed my neck brace. When I told him what was going on he was in full support of Doc Z's approach. Wasn't that nice to hear? Both my chronic pain doctor and my chiropractor on the same page? Well three weeks went by and my neck and right arm were not much better. Both Doc Z and my Chronic Pain doctor wanted me to get an MRI to see what was going on. Wouldn't you know, Doc Z had been right all along just from looking at me - i have a pinched nerve situation going on within my neck that is affecting my right arm and causing numbness. This guy is just a master of all things spine related. I am hoping to avoid the cervical spine injections that my pain doctor and his team are suggesting, since I would much rather go the chiropractic route with adjustments and some physical therapy. The first time I stepped into Pacifica Chiropractic (now owned by Dr. Gene Plotitsa, who took over from Dr. Zollinger) I was lucky enough to be the last patient of the day. I got a 90-minute treatment instead of 45 or 60 minutes. My experience with chiropractors so far has been that they crack various spine segments and that was it and when I got lucky I had pain relief. My C4-C5-C-6 vertebrae got fused so I need a gentle chiropractic approach. The treatment I received by Dr. Gene was one of the best ever with a chiropractor. This is the worst experience with a chiropractor I've ever had I went to him for three visits and the quality of care received was incredibly poor. He comes across as arrogant and is not very knowledgeable at his trade compared with the other five or six chiropractors I've seen over the years. Let me start by saying I was a very skeptical when it came to seeing a chiropractor for my back issues. I have been dealing with back pain for over 13 years and for the past 2 years have been in severe pain, with the occasional time off work. Every doctor I have been to has said I needed surgery and to medicate myself with pain killers and muscle relaxers. After talking to Matt W who also wrote an excellent review, I decided it was time to try something new...and boy am I glad I did. Dr. Z is amazing! After one adjustments I am feeling like myself again! I am not having that sharp pain that keeps me from doing the things I love like playing with my kids, working, and of course sleeping more than a few hours at a time like I have been the last couple of years. I did switch doctors, unfortunately for me they are located in the same "office space" and that made it uncomfortable for me. This is a review of Dr. Zollinger. We both decided to give it a try after reading some of these reviews and I must say that we weren't disappointed. Dr. Zollinger is very caring, attentive and professional. This is nothing like your usual office visit, as he will actually spend time with you when you'll be the only one he's attending to during your visit. So neck problem is under control and back is doing better, too (after just one session! - should have probably kept at it but I'm not very good at at it, as soon as I get my sleep back LOL!) So I have gone to Dr. Z on and off for about 20 years, so went to his office old office on Crespi Dr. and his new one on Manor Dr.. I have to disclose that he and my husband are very good friends, however, I will honestly tell you my experience. Since we are friends, he treats me as such when he sees me, so I can't tell you about how I would view his interaction if I didn't know him, and was just a new patient. However, I can tell you that his chiropractic treatment has helped me and my husband tremendously over the years. I was in a car accident about 25 years ago, and ran over a dead cow on highway 5 at midnight going about 70 mph with no seatbelt in a small car. Being young and unexperienced, I thought I was fine until a month or so later, I started losing the feeling in my left hand. After initial chiropractic treatment elsewhere since I didn't know Dr. Z at the time, the feeling did come back to my hand. However, the effects are long lasting, and there are times when my neck completely goes out, and Dr. Z has always been there to the rescue for the last 20 years. After being rear-ended this summer, again thinking I was fine for a day or two, the third day my low back was hurting so bad it was affecting work. So off to Dr. Z I went and he treated my back, shoulder, and knee (as I had jammed my whole right side in the accident). I am pretty well stable once again thanks to Dr. Z. My husband got rear-ended while he was last in line in a traffic jam on the SM Bridge about 8 years ago. He was hit by a suburban going 40 MPH, and shoved 15 feet into a vehicle in front of him. His car was totaled and we felt lucky that he was still here. However, the damage to his back, neck and leg was pretty painful. Dr. Z treated him and got him to the point where he was pain free for the most part. He still gets problems with his back/shoulder if he does something too streneous but back to Dr. Z he goes, and the treatment/exercises Dr. Z gives him gets him back to normal. I have arthritis and no cartilage left in my knees, and his combination of natural meds/supplements have done more for my knees than any surgery has done so far! So although he may not be your "typical" MD type, his treatment has helped my husband and I over the years. read more

I've been scared to try chiropractic care for years, even though I know I have needed it. Finally, after numerous massage therapists advised me to try it, I found out my kaiser insurance covers it. So, I checked out a few places they approved and decided on this place, thanks to great reviews! Those reviews were not wrong either! Dr Z is really easy going and the whole process wasn't scary at all. First appointment was long, and I appreciate the time he took with me. Everything was explained so that I understood what was going to happen with each step. The adjustment was not painful at all! What a big different, both are major in chiropractics but Dr z seem to be much more passionate/knowledge about his job than the Dr Cameron. Cameron seem to just want to collect my insurance money than really taking care of my well being. I'm just so glad that I change my Dr. Wait until you meet Carrie the massage therapist. the care with this doctor was fine, it was his unprofessional ism of his staff and himself. And there very unorthodox and unorganized, and down right demeaning behavior. I started therapy due to car accident. I have been going back in forth with the cat insurances to pay. I ended up billing my own insurance to cover cost. I asked dr Z and his staff to send me copy of bills etc. And every time i would call, know one knew anything about my previous attempts to them. I went into Dr.'s per the receptionist and when I did arrive I was "berated" in front other customers ( believe his name was Joshua who was sitting in waitng room) by Dr. Z and his receptionist Jeanie. Over a copay, and told me that " I showed up at a very inconvenient time" ( when I was asked to come in by his receptionist)He then seemed very confused as to my treatment and that my insurance has paid them. It seems that he is very stressed out and needs more help at his office very disappointing to be treated like a 3rd rate citizen, when you are trying to take care of your medical bills and recover from an injury. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. Unless you like to be treated poorly by a business. There are much better chiropractic offices around the bay. read more

My dad is a chiropractor who lives in Southern California, I have grown up getting adjustments my whole life some better than others...I got out of my car yesterday and a rib popped out of place. I was in horrible pain, I could barely breathe without it hurting me...I called Dr Z...he got me in and out the next morning...3 days before Christmas even! I have been adjusted by a lot of chiropractors in my life...honestly; Dr Z did a fabulous job! My pain has already eased, he talked me thru the whole thing. I highly recommend Dr Zollinger! He calls me his "weekend warrior" as I come in to him after weekend sports related injuries. My most recent issue was severe sciatica all down my left leg with pins & needles/numbness. I'm 2 treatments in and feeling the difference.
