I bought an older home and did not know that the tub had been painted. The paint began to peel and I thought I could refinish the tub myself. After many hours of scraping over several days and vacuuming up dust and paint chips and also sore muscles and hand blisters starting to form, I thought, "Why am I doing this?" My tub is so beautiful now I enjoy taking baths again. I learned not to put non slip suction cup mats in the tub because this will harm a refinished tub and compromise the paint seal. I just put a towel on the bottom of the tub when I take a shower and that provides a nonslip surface. Richard is dishonest, does horrible work, and is a jerk. The guy tried to do a patch job on my tub and left nasty brown patching glue uncovered and claimed it was finished. When asked if he was going to cover it with white surfacing material he actually claimed he couldn't cover that nasty, ugly patching glue, and that the horrible look was the finished product. Anybody who fixes tubs knows you have to cover the patch work with the white surfacing material. Avoid them and encourage everyone you know to avoid them. read more

Richard was absolutely GREAT. He handled my 80+ year old Grandfather with "kid gloves" and made sure he was happy on a sink restoration job. For my Grandfather to be happy takes A LOT. He is VERY picky!! The refinish job on his sink went great! I must say that I've worked with a lot of trades and construction companies in the past and i have never seen the amount of pride and work that goes into this company. These guys are awesome. I contacted them last December to have a tub refinished in our 1920s home. The tub had been inexpertly finished before by someone else and was peeling badly. The owner said they were very busy with a large job but he'd see if he could squeeze us in. He called me back in 24 hours and they were here the next day. They did a very professional job and the cost was very reasonable. They even came back to do a small touch up on a section of the tub that came out a bit rough. The end result was beyond my expectations. It's been 8 months and the refinishing job has held up perfectly. It looks as good as the day they did it. I am very pleased with the result. read more

If you use their services they put you on a call list and call you constantly. I've been trying to get off of it for months and can not. I get called about 2 times a week. It's infuriating. The last time I got a call I asked to speak to a manager and the employee wouldn't transfer me. Instead opting to hang up on me. This type of solicitation is unacceptable to me. read more

I am currently in need of tub repair in one of my rental properties and Richard came to mind. Not that I would ever again consider using this very obnoxious person, but he came to mind only because I wondered if managed to be still in business. To my surprise he is. Not only is he still in business but he has many rave Yelp reviews praising his quality work (which was in my experience OK, not great, but OK) and also how great he is dealing with people. This is totally contrary to my experience. First off, if you want to set him off ask him to follow up on a warranty if his work falls short. I used him a couple of times over the years. My initial experience was he was Ok, although a bit quirky. But on the one occasion when I did have a problem with his work quality and asked him to back up his warranty, he became very surly and quite obnoxious. In my mind I question whether the high praise one reads in these Yelp reviews is legitimate, or is it instead fabricated? There is one way to find out though, call him for a job. read more

Richard the owner was so nice and explained exactly the cost and what was involved in refinishing my tub. They showed up on time and only took 1 day. The tub looks amazing. I am so happy with the job they did. I had Perma Ceram refinish the tub twice and both times it peeled and chipped within a month. They apparently didn't prime the tub. read more

Just used Richard (and his excellent technician Miles) again. PT&T refinished our bathroom tile to gleaming (easily maintained, better than original) white and our kids' bathroom tub a decade ago. After heavy use, the tub needed another go (tile still perfect), as did our own tub and sink. All are perfect again after a smooth and careful process. Definitely the way to go! read more

I had reviewed Richard before and it was a rave review. Since then, the caulking cracked because it was so thin. It took a long time to even get Richard to come out and fix it and when he did, he was rude and intimidating. He said it wasn't his fault which made no sense since he was the one who did the caulking. Anyway, after being abusive, he did redo the caulking. The new caulking looked like a crooked river, in some parts, over an inch thick, in other parts, a quarter inch. I had to hire someone to come in and redo it. Bottom line, Richard was lovely until I asked him to make this repair. Needless to say, I'll never have this man in my home again. read more

Words cannot express how happy I am with the work done by Richard and his assistant Michael. Richard is an honest man with tons of integrity. Michael is a hard working and extremely polite young man. They clearly are a terrific team! It was originally thought that Richard would have to "refinish" both showers/tubs, but on the day he gave the estimate, he suggested just doing the inlay on the downstairs, as he thought he could use a product to make the rest of the shower look close to new. He did just that, and then suggested trying the same upstairs as it would save us a ton of money. Both tubs/showers look close to new now! Not only did he save us money whilst doing a quality job, but he helped us find someone for another home project we need done. One can quickly tell Richard has heart just by talking with him. He loves dogs...we saw pictures of his Little Louie and he treated our Olive and Lotus like princesses. He loves his family and friends. It's a small world...when talking with him, I quickly realized that I remembered his mother, Eve, from years ago when she was a floral designer at Swenson and Silacci Flowers in Salinas. For those of you who remember Eve, Richard is most definitely her son...a kind, compassionate, caring, and honest individual who has a passion for his work and a willingness to always help others.
