The lament flooring-was installed in my bathroom less than a year ago. One of the things they had to do was remove the toilet and put in the flooring. Unfortunately the wax seal didn't set correctly and subsequently there was a leak causing the floor to warp. I called and spoke to Victor who arranged another inspection. Both he and Jesse the installer did the inspection. It was clear the the leak caused the floor to warp, so it was agreed they would replace the flooring however, Victor asked that I get a plumber. Jesse replaced the damaged flooring and the plumber reinstalled the toilet. I was very satisfied with the arrangements made to correct the problem. The price and quality at Wheeler's Carpet are superior in value. I knew that when I purchased our carpet for our home's remodel. I was not thrilled with one of the interactions with a flooring coordinator after the carpet came in, Amy. However, I asked to speak to Jim Johanson (sP?) the manager and had a wonderful experience. I am BEYOND HAPPY with the service and flooring I received from Wheeler's Flooring. The salesman, Eric Hernandez, is the best. Not only did he provide EXCELLENT SERVICE when selling the floor but the service after the sale was even better. (That never happened to me before). He helped me select the right flooring (more on that below) and helped me with the installer. I live remotely so when he was in the neighborhood he offered to stop by the house and checked on the installation. He even sent me pictures! He then followed up with me to make sure I was happy with the flooring and installation. Regarding the flooring we selected...it's perfect. The sample at the store does not do it justice. European Lite Collection (Color: Rome). It's laminate but the quality is so good that everyone who sees it thinks it's hardwood. Imagine that...Hardwood look at laminate prices. This review is for Judy. I recently moved to the area and this place was recommended. I went in on a weekday and was perusing the place, and happened upon this older woman in a corner who seemed very annoyed and unapproachable. I reluctantly asked if she had a certain floor I was looking for and attempted to show her a photo, which she didn't even look at, and told me "I know what you're talking about and we don't have that floor". After some time looking at other samples she then proceeds to yell and vehemently disrespect our contractor who we brought along with us... she then reprimands him and repeats his name several times and says "look at me in the eyes when I speak to you". My partner and I were appalled at her unacceptable behavior, we just couldn't believe what was happening. After a couple minutes she loses interest and goes back to her station and ignores us, then begins to do the same thing to other employees. I'm not sure why this is allowed, maybe because she views them as lesser employees and she feels superior. I will tell you one thing, Judy. Respect is earned. It feels important to add as we were leaving that she was so kind and incredibly helpful to this lovely Caucasian couple. I suppose there is another thing I'd like to mention Judy, as you never know who you might be doing business with. I was looking to buy 3,500 sqft of product. I will be taking my business elsewhere and will never recommend this place, as I'd never like anyone else to be treated in a similar manner. read more

At around 12:30pm I waltzed into Wheelers looking to talk carpet install for a single room. Victor, the sales guy, was easy to talk to and knew his stuff. I gave him room dimensions and a preference for carpet quality (inexpensive & nice looking). He showed me a selection of carpet, then wrote up a quote on my choice. The price was excellent, beating out the other as-to-remain-anonymous local chain store (initials are H.D.) by over a hundred smackers...! By 3:30pm, THE CARPET WAS INSTALLED. Same day. Nice installers and quality work. Of course, the whole same-day install thing is probably a rare deal. Still, give these guys a shot. They are good for it! read more

At first we had good service at Wheeler's and even had a laminate flooring put in one bedroom. The installers were nice to work with and did a nice job. But when we complained about a couple of issues the story changed. We had planned on doing more business with Wheeler's but the day we went in you could just feel the coolness and I asked for the owner to call us, but he never did. I went through costco to get flooring, and wheelers are the ones who are contracted out by costco. Had someone come out and measure and give me a price, was a little high, so I asked if they can do better. They said they will give me a call back, they never did. in 1998 we shopped several stores and furniture departments for rugs and carpets. wheeler's sold us high quality, expensive looking carpet runners that did not break our budget, and lasted for several years until destroyed by our pets. in 2011 we went to one place to replace floors in our 75 year old home. wheeler's sold us high quality, expensive looking flooring for our kitchen and laundry room that did not break our budget. mike and manny, the vinyl installers, are great guys who work expertly and rapidly, and take direction well. they ask good questions, and clean up afterwards. the estimator convinced us that refinishing our hardwood floors will be less expensive than replacing them. i like dealing with this honest guy. christina made the appointments and followed with phone calls. she made sure that we got the rock star treatment. we really appreciate this. victor showed us samples, handled all of our questions, and made everything happen in a friendly, helpful, efficient manner. this guy is top notch in our book. the new floors look great, and we're looking forward to having wheeler's refinish the rest. read more

We bought a new home in March and replaced all the carpet with Wheeler's. Everything was fantastic from recommendations with samples to final install and follow up. Ask for Victor, sales guy- he was great, along with scheduler and installer, cannot recall their names. They were very up front about costs, which I love. The installer even came back the day after with a new tool to finalize something. The bathroom tile work is not the greatest (remodel done before we purchased the home) and was very hard to pair with carpet, so he definitely went above and beyond there. Overall, skip the big box stores and support the local here as they blow them out of the water with their customer service and quality materials. Not to mention, our quote with big box store was the same as Wheeler's final invoice. We recommend them to all our family and friends. read more

We called on tuesday after being screwed over by empire today and they made room for us on Thursday! one of the owners himself went to measure the rooms and hall the day that I called. my husband drove to salinas and selected out of the carpet they had in stock. install went great the installers were friendly and professional. they knew what they were doing. one of the gentleman had been with the company for 25 years plus. will defiantly use for our next flooring projects to come! and to top it all off they were $500 less expensive for better quality carpet!!! the other aspect that I was happy with was that we supported a "mom and pop" shop! My wife and I are happy with the carpet we received from Wheeler flooring! Jim Rogers of Wheelers visited our home a few times until we could decide on the carpet that matched our budget. He was very patient with us and we even had a few laughs during the process. Since we were purchasing the carpet through Costco, Jim explained the whole process to us about getting our rebate which was 10% of the cost of installation and carpet! We were on a tight schedule and Wheelers was able to meet our needs. Miguel and his crew was right on schedule and even suggested that we do our stairs a different way which enhanced the beauty of our stairs! On 2/24/15 My father and I went to Cinderella carpet one in Salinas with the intent on purchasing carpet both sales people were busy with customers so we patiently waited. An elderly white couple came in the salesman hurriedly went over to help them and ignored me and my father. Needless to say we left apparently our business was not needed. We were driving back home when we noticed Wheelers flooring on N. Main, we stopped in the sales people were helpful and friendly. We used this company for the first and last time for both our home and our commercial building. Immediately we complained about the seams not being even or even flush. Then the carpets at work and home started unraveling the first month. I have called multiple times and three times now, an owner and employee showed up at my office, trimmed the unraveled edges,which looked worse as now the edges do not meet at the wall and the seams are even further apart. And now are unraveling again! I asked for the carpet to be replaced, was told they would come back and most likely replace the carpet at their cost and no one has shown up. I will not ever use this company again. The first carpet in our commercial building lasted 11 years. This carpet had problems after one month. There are carpet nails still sticking us at home, which I complained about also a day or two after the installation. So very, very frustrated and disappointed. read more
