I wish I could leave a positive review, but my experience with Ashley Furniture has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. About two weeks ago, we went into the store and worked with a salesperson (MARLA) to choose a specific couch set. After going back and forth, we were offered a price match, which we accepted based on the set we had clearly chosen. The salesperson even went to speak to her manager and came back confirming the match. We were happy and ready to move forward. Fast forward to the day we picked up our order from the warehouse...what we received was not the couch set we picked out. When I reviewed the receipt, I saw they had ordered the wrong set entirely. We were never shown or asked to confirm the exact model at the time of purchase, so we trusted the salesperson did her job correctly. When I contacted the store, the manager (BRAD) insisted that we got what we ordered and that they wouldn't price-match the set we had actually chosen.. implying we somehow agreed to a completely different product, which is simply not true. To make matters worse, the salesperson took on a laughing, dismissive tone as if I was confused or making it up. It felt incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. This has caused a lot of stress, wasted time, and left us stuck with furniture we didn't want. I've asked to speak to the district manager and will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau if this isn't resolved fairly. Be very cautious if you shop here. Double-check everything. Unfortunately, customer service and accountability seem to stop once your payment goes through. I would avoid MARLA. Our experience with her seems shady.. she should know as a sales person to double check she is selling the correct product to her customers.. unless her business revolves around ordering the incorrect product on purpose to close the sale which is completely UNETHICAL. I've attached the pictures of the item's tag we saw in store and the website where we were price matched for that exact set which in the end they ordered a DIFFERENT set that is even CHEAPER. Deceptive sales tactics? *EDIT* We received a refund, Although BRAD kept trying to find an excuse to deny a refund. Very unprofessional service. I don't understand how the owner can have this person as a MANAGER. He lacks de-escalation training. Also was so close on purchasing at Signature furniture until I found out it is owned by the same owner, as well as the Gilroy Ashley location. Won't purchase from any of those stores & I also recommend others to look up the furniture before buying because you can get it for much less, ended up purchasing from another locally owned place for the same price I had matched initially :) read more

Avoid if possible and shop around. There's other furniture stores that will match their price and you will receive a lot sooner. My husband and son went in on a Saturday, wearing suits. (After church) They were treated great and given some good prices on a new living room set. My husband came back home to discuss this with me and take measurements to make sure it would all fit. He went later that week, after work dressed in his uniform. Although the salesmen had written down the prices HIMSELF, they boost the price for the sectional $600+. He stated he had forgotten to add taxes and delivery.. blah blah blah. My husband isn't a problematic person, he walked out without the purchase. Don't always judge a book by its cover. My husband drove to another furniture store on Alisal St, Salinas. They were able to match their price, get the couches in 2 weeks sooner and free delivery with installation. read more

We purchased a bed about a week ago and was told it was going to be out of stock till October, not a problem at all. A week later we went on online and the Ashley website said it could be delivered by 9-13, just a little difference in time. We went to the store and the cashier was helpful, verified the bed we ordered was out of stock till October, even though the company website said it could be delivered this week. She proceeded to call the manager, I assume, and he said we can try to order it online but they would definitely change the shipping date to October since it's out of stock. Well we did place an online order for exact same bed, and guess what? We got FedEx tracking numbers today, it was shipped out. So I went in to cancel the in-store order today. They said I must of got lucky. I think they didn't want to loose out on a store sale / commission, so we got fed a line so we would keep our order. My poor Spanish speaking only mother went to Ashley for a new bed set that was on the clearance side of the store and when she purchased the set on clearance she was under the assumption that she was paying clearance... AGAIN MY MOM ONLY SPEAKS SPANISH... and the worker reassured my mom that if she did not pay the full amount in 90 days it would increase her amount by 25% and we were okay with that... tell me why mom is now having to pay 3k more of what she thought she signed up for... mind you she meant to only pay 1.5k for the whole set now she's paying almost 5k... and when we called to clarify her payments they basically told her sucks you didn't read the fine print and did not pay attention therefore since you signed you now have to pay almost 5k FOR A CLEARANCE SALE!!! It's just super disappointing because my mom said the lady who was helping her purchase the clearance bed set was sweet so for them to switch up like that was crazy... I went in to purchase a new set of couches the couches that I liked we're not gonna get here for another two weeks and they had advised me that I could take the display. I had reviewed the display couches and saw that they were an excellent condition and did not have any stains and were very well kept. That being said I decided to take those couches home the next day I went to their store they had the couches wrapped, but I noticed that the wrapping was dirty, I asked the young gentleman who wrapped the couches about the dirt on the wrapping, and they had said that the dirt was just from the outside, when I receive the couches at home and unwrapped them, I had noticed that there was stains on the couches and that the dirt was in fact, not just from the outside, but during the wrapping process, the couches were stained, I then proceeded to speak to the manager about this incident his name was Bradley Druhot , he started to argue with me and yell at me, telling me that it's not his problem and that it's my problem now because I have the couches, he was trying to blame me, telling me that I was the one who stained the couches, when I just had got them delivered. He later on tried to insist that he wrapped them himself personally when another employee stated that he was out of town during that time. I then told him that I didn't want to speak to him anymore and would like to speak to the owner, due to Brad's hostility and unprofessionalism. Then he proceeded to tell me that the owner does not want to speak to me or deal with me, he then decided to tell me that if I was looking for money, I wasn't gonna get any money back. Then when I started to tell him, I didn't want money back. I would just like somebody to come and clean the couches from the damages. They had cause he started to laugh and insist that I wanted money back, I continue to tell him that I wanted to speak with the owner as of a result of the insulting way he was treating me, and he just told me that he would tell the owner, but he doubt he wants to speak to me. This is a establishment that does not care about client care. They just care about commission. I will never be back to the store again. The staff is extremely rude. I walked in need of a desk as I was starting to work from home more often. As I was walking in, the sales person asked what I was looking for and I told him I was looking for a desk. He then showed me one bulky desk. Didn't ask qualifying questions of what the desk was for, who is going to use the desk, what type of desk I was looking for... As I let him know that I was not interested in the bulky (large size) desk, he directed me to another desk And automatically flipped the price tag with his pen to make sure I would see it first. To me, this is insulting and a horrible sales person. Ashley furniture staff, if you're looking to sell Try being a little personable and getting to know your customers needs. UPDATE: So I took down my review because my husband said to give them a chance to correct the issue. I get a call a couple days later because Hector, the manager called me. Only called because of a notification that a review was posted got sent, and customer service saw it. So I brought up the pricing that the sales associate gave me, he even wrote it down on the back of his business card along with his hours that he works. Doubt was laden in the manager's voice when I said that the deal was $899 out the door for the sofa I wanted. My husband, my friend and myself had asked what would be our out the door price. He wrote down the prices for the two couch sets we were looking at. Stated that he would give us the best deal even if we came back later. I guess we should have just ordered it right then and there, instead of doing it over the phone a couple days later. Hector told me that the original price was $1200, and you couldn't stack sales. So the No Sales Tax sale could not be combined with the $899. That was not what we were told. We stopped at Ashley's because they had the No Tax Sale. We had a budget and probably would have got the sofa and loveseat if our living room had space which it didn't so we only got the sofa. Hector said he would talk to our sales associate and call me back. Never called me back. It's now been over a month. Nothing further regarding my purchase and the price discrepancy. Stinks because our sales associate was good, but the entire purchase just left bad juju. Oh and we didn't want to pay to have it delivered, so we went to pick up. All the way off Abbott at the last depot. I guess if you looked at the map on the instructions you'd find it. The signage is terrible. They ended up being the last warehouse on the end. Be sure to bring all your own tie downs. Original Review: This was going to be a 4 or 5 star review, but after getting my receipt in the mail and the unexpected charge on my card I just cannot. Instantly greeted by someone at the front of the store. Most of the time I like browsing on my own without someone tagging along, but this made it pretty quick. The couches we liked were noted and we just had to measure and decide which one we wanted. No sales tax sale, nice. Altogether I believe 4 days pass before we made up our mind which couch we wanted and which piece(s) would fit. So we call and make the order. The prices were written down on the business card, so we were set. We were told we would be well taken care of, and that we would get the best offer and the same offer we given when we were at the store. Also asked if we could take a survey, it would be sent to our phone. It was not a survey, it asked to leave a glowing review on Google or any other rating website. Totally misleading. Not happy right now. Ordered our new couch over the phone. Was told that we would be getting a better price than what we had discussed in store. The couch was $899.95. It was also the no sales tax sale, so that was great. We asked how long the sale would be going on and that we would probably be deciding within the week, no problem. What ends up happening? We end up getting charged the sales tax on top of the floor price of the couch. So better deal... Nope. Sure okay, sales tax on the couch was $83.25, but do not say one thing but do another.  I'm really upset and fuming right now, but they are closed and there is nothing I can do until tomorrow. I have shopped here before. I got my first bed set and couch back in 2008. Every time after I have stopped here to see what they have to offer, I usually end up elsewhere. Went for a couch for our new home because we saw there was a no sales tax special. First of all the salesman John hovered over us the entire time, like he thought we were gonna steal or break something. Then when we found it we Were told it should take about 4-5 weeks due to COVID, but we couldn't get a specific date. Get home with the receipt and see that he charged me sales tax. Yes it has to be on the receipt but they were supposed to discount the price of the furniture to balance it. Nope. Called 2weeks ago and they agreed to the "mistake" ... and said they would process the refund. It's been 2 damn weeks and no refund and now I can't get anyone on the phone. They place u on hold without warning and then they just pick up and put you back on hold. I going in to cancel the sale and find my couches elsewhere. This place is a damn joke. read more

At first my experience here was a good one, we found a couch we really liked and despite the $1400 price tag we agreed to buy it but we're told it wouldn't come in until the end of September. The Salinas store is the worst store with delivering furniture and customer service. The store manager will avoid you and not issue credit when product are not even delivered. They should be band from operating the store or clear out the employee with better customer service. When I ordered my bedroom dressers set last year in May I didn't get it delivered till end of October. We bought furniture in good faith and expected delivery in about 2 weeks. We were disappointed to find out that drlivery couldn't be made for 8-12 weeks after purchase. After 2 months, I called to check on the delivery status, and I was informed that the expected delivery date is now extended to January 3, 2021. Had we known that the delivery would take this long--4 MONTHS!--we would have gone elsewhere. The store has our money--thousands of dollars--and we have nothing but a bunch of excuses. Today some customer service rep who claims and I say "claims" because this girl had NO customer service whatsoever. I asked for her name and she said Elisa. Short and sweet. Bought a couch in June, we were not told it was out of stock. We were told it would take 3-6 weeks but most likely 4 weeks. So we bought it for $1500. Two months later still no couch. After calling every week after 7 weeks past I was just lied to and miss led the whole time. One person told me they couldn't track the couch because it doesn't work that way. But then the sales men tells me a certain date. Come to find out it's all an estimate they "just come up with". After all the lies I called last week and told them I want to talk to Tito, they guy who sold us the couch. They tell me he's not in and to leave my name and number he will call back. Well who wants to bet he called me? Yeah, I got no call. So today a couple days later I call at 6:44 to ask to speak to Tito once again and when they answer, some lady just says "Thanks for calling Ashley's please hold" does not even wait to get a reply for me or anything straight to HOLD! Knowing they close at 7pm I'm assuming they are not doing s*** they just don't want to help anyone so I use my wife's phone to call them and guess what happens... "Thanks for calling Ashley's please hold" and boom straight to HOLD. I stay on hold on my cell and call again from my wife's phone and same thing, HOLD. No one answered anything I must have called 4 times from her phone. Then I waited till exactly 7pm to call from her phone again and boom no answer. This whole time I'm still on hold on my cell phone which came out to about 18 minutes before proving to myself I was right. They do not want to help anyone because I'm sure everyone calling them is angry has a problem with their order or is like us and has no couch after paying for it and they don't want to take any type of accountability for how poorly this company, store and employees are being ran. I will never shop here again and if anyone I know even thinks of shopping here I will make sure they take their time and money somewhere else. After all the reviews I read I can honestly believe every single one of them. So to who ever reads this do not purchase anything from these guys unless you can take it home the same day but I doubt it. Hope this helped! Wish I could give these guys the opposit of stars. We found a good deal online and decided to try and support local business, so we went in. The "customer service rep" tried to up sell us. We had to ask to see the item that brought us in and liked it so we bought it. We were given a delivery window and checked in on the first day of that window. We were given a delivery date a couple of days away. When that day came we we were told it wouldn't be delivered until the following week. When we went in to complain we were told the manager we were told he wasn't there AND they had the nerve to try and charge a "restocking fee". Being poorly treated caused us to react with vitriol and the staff tried to shame us into more"acceptable" behavior. Miraculously, the manager appeared to defend his incompetent staff instead of trying to help his customers. I guess we learned our lesson about trying to support local business, we got a better product for the same price in two days online. read more

The store had a giant sign outside that said "No Tax Sale," but really, it's only no tax on full price items (where the heck is the fine print, the guy that greeted me didn't even inform me of this, what a huge inconvenience). I found this out after deciding on a recliner sofa and just as I was handing over my credit card. False advertisement! How unfortunate.... I walked right out of there and told them I would find somewhere else that could beat their price. All big furniture places buy furniture from a single source and just slap their name on it and raise the price. I'm not an idiot to be ripped off by this place. So I wrote down the model number and went on my way. Luckily, I found a place that sold that same recliner sofa for $200 less off their sale price (HA!). Let me first start off by saying that I am a sales persons nightmare. I work hard for what I have and it is important to get what you pay for. Please see the review that I did for Rosso Furniture in Gilroy and read the following experience that I recently had with Ashley Homestore in Salinas and specifically with Brad Druhot. Came in 8:00 PM to the Ashley Homestore on 1/01. I had called and spoke to Brad before I came in, and he assured me that they could undersell any Ashley distributor because they were not a middle man. I walked the store for a good 1/2 hour before asking for Brad assistance and to reinforce our selections that we had done at previous furniture stores. I had a budget in mind. but I wanted to get the best product to accomodate my families needs. After telling Brad my appaling story of what happened in my home store in Gilroy, he knew that I was very forethcoming and didn't want the back and forth sales tactic used by used car dealers to haggle. I gave him my budget, and expanded the furniture that I wanted to include in the deal. I like a good haggle, but after a long day I just wanted to get the furniture ordered and deal done. Brad went out of his way to accomodate me and my wife. We arrived at a price for a love seat, couch, and pub table and six chairs, but I needed a sitting chair as well. After arriving at my original budget, which beat the local dealer by $800 I also got the added sitting chair for another couple of hundred bucks. Great furniture, at resonable prices. Furniture was delivered on the promised date at the promised time. The warehouse delivery personnel were excellent. FANTASTIC JOBS Brad and Ashley Homestore. You may be able to find cool furniture from this store just like we did. However they will give you such hard time on customer service that you will regret to buy extra warranty. The back leg of the chair (one of the chairs of the table set) was broken 2 months after we got that. Ashley people forwarded us to warranty company - Guardsman- and did not help us. And the Guardsman was way worse. Now the same chairs same leg is broken again and they are even more obnoxious than before on not replacing the chair. It is ridiculous. Now they said they MAY change the BACK of the chair. Are you kidding me? Just take back your crappy chair Why did you guys make us pay extra $150 for warranty on top of company warranty? read more

Ashley is not the place it used to be. We've shopped at their Salinas store and have bought items, which was delivered on time. BUT, now that era is sgone, probably a sign that good customer service is now a ghost of its former self. We,... let me phrase this; After choosing two items to be delivered to our home, the sales representative talked to the office and assured us that our items would be delivered to our home this 2nd of June. Well we're still waiting, and no items. We're sort of let down that Ashley can't schedule our items to be shipped, and they should have ensured that the items were in the system, and could be delivered to us at the scheduled date. For this, I would give Ashley a big fat "0". At least our sales representative did her best. So if you're looking to order items from Ashley, I"d do better to go with Sears, Walmart, Target, or any of the other furniture stores.... read more
