Long overdue updated review. This antique store has been going strong for years. It has over 30+ vendors inside. The store has both antique, vintage and handmade goods. There's something for everyone here: comic books, jewelry, home decor, books, furniture, collectibles, glassware, dishes, sunglasses, apparel, prints, postcards, greeting cards, funky pops, Disney items, mini cars, lighters, crystals, old coins/money, knick knacks + more! They accept cash, and cards. Friendly customer service. Only downside is that the second floor is no longer accessible to the public as it no longer has vendors up there. No public restroom but you can utilize the restroom inside the coffee shop next door. Just ask for the code when you go in! (Same owner) Fun fact: the shop used to be a bank back in the day.

    Cool stuff

Halltree Antique Mall is like visiting a museum where everything is for sale. A large building that is stuffed with "lots of stuff"! I was impressed with a section full of old signs relating to automobiles. There was lots of old kitchen stuff - egg beaters, potato mashers and other implements to wreak carnage on your food before you assemble and cook it. One section had some war memorabilia. There were helmets from pre-world war I, world wars I and II, and an assortment of medallions and medals from Soviet Russia. The helmets were under glass though, so you can't try them on. I wanted to wear the German World War I helmet because I think they look cool; but it wasn't to be. It looked a little small anyway. People were probably not as large back then. Maybe if you have a small child, you could get the helmet for him. There was some incredibly bad art and lots of old photos and pictures. The worst piece of art was a bad painting of a swamp with ducks in it. The ducks were badly imposed mallards that were skinned and attached to the painting so that there was a 3-D look of those ducks. Whoever made this monstrosity must have invested a lot of time and work into the project. It looked old. I suppose whoever did it is long dead, so there is little harm in my critical comments hurting his self-image. I purchased a couple of old and useless kitchen tools for my collection of old and useless kitchen tools which I hang on the wall of my kitchen. One is a pasta cutter that is so flimsy that I'm sure the person who used it was very disappointed. The other mysteriously disappeared from the time we got into the car to when we got home. I do not even remember what it was. Halltree Antique Mall is close to a coffee shop. Sofie and I had our coffee and then cruised through the mall. I was drawn in by the antique gasoline pump... and once I was in, I could not leave. I just had to see everything. It was all so interesting. Sofie liked the baby carriage which was just like the one she pushed her children around in 40 years ago. Rubber tires, chrome and cloth. Now it's plastic, plastic and plastics.

Very nice mix of antiques. Prices are average for a large mall. Located in the downtown section of salinas. Plenty of parking in the area.

Things have only gotten worse here. The pricing is outrageous more expensive than any other thrift…read morestore. This is like a high end boutique in Carmel. There are no bargains here, you'll be paying more than ebay or Etsy on items that they get for free. Why don't they markdown items that don't sell? They wont negotiate on their prices either. This is a strict business which doesn't care if you return to patronage. They don't support our community, only their cause. And how do they support our veterans? I have no idea because they won't tell us. They should put out a new letter that documents what they're doing for our veterans with all of our donations. My husband is a proud veteran but gets no benefits from here. Oh, only a10% discount, and only if you have your discharge paperwork. There are NO BARGAINS HERE. They rarely have sales, only once in while and rarely have free things, items that won't sell but are basically broken down garbage which belongs in the landfill, with the exception of books, lp's and dvd's or vhs. Nothing good or useful. Moreover, the staff is unwilling to negotiate prices, indicating a strict business approach that does not prioritize customer loyalty. They are not friendly and somewhat rude and snotty, especially the young man cashier, he's just rude and uncaring. I find it disconcerting that they scrutinize donations and selectively accept only items they deem saleable. As a result, we no longer donate to this organization. Why do I come back? With hopes that some day it will get better. Especially after reading all the similar negative and disparaging reviews, it's not just me who sees all the unfavorable things here. Its our community speaking, please listen to your community and act accordingly.

We haven't been here in years. My coworker suggested we might find some weights for my hubby's new…read moreweight bench there. We did! The signage was clear. The selection of other items was good too. Their pots were way overpriced for what they were. The guy who checked us out was nice. We will probably go back in a month to see if they have more.
