I loved that I was able to tour the actual unit we chose to stay in beforehand. The lease agreement itself didn't raise any red flags. I love the clubhouse amenities, distance to target, cleanliness of the grounds, the fact that there's security, the various resident perks like discount amusement park tickets or occasional treats, and how on top the maintenance team is. Maintenance gets stuff done and takes work orders very seriously. As someone whose health suffered because the last property failed to do necessary repairs, I appreciate it a lot.

A resident in Apt 2005 was caught on camera engaging in hostile racial harassment and shouting slurs directly outside the building. This behavior has been documented publicly online and creates an intimidating, unsafe environment for residents and visitors. Evidence of this incident has been sent to regional property management and the corporate executive team. Immediate intervention and lease enforcement are required to maintain a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for this community. Imagine moving into a new apartment because you need more space, spending thousands of dollars to…read moremove, getting settled in... and THREE MONTHS LATER having to pack everything back up and leave because your downstairs neighbor made living there absolutely unbearable. That was literally us. From basically the beginning, there were issues. Constant loud music, banging, yelling, drama, and just really inappropriate behavior outside the apartment. I'm talking about sitting outside scratching her ass, messing with the front of her clothes, and acting like the entire common area was her personal living room. It was uncomfortable and honestly just bizarre. We complained to management over and over again, but there was only so much they could do. Eventually things escalated into harassment and threats, and the POLICE had to get involved THREE separate times. Lewis Apartments even sent documentation to my email regarding everything that was happening. At some point, you have to ask yourself: why am I paying thousands of dollars every month to live somewhere where I don't even feel comfortable walking to my own car or relaxing inside my own apartment?! And don't even get me started on the package theft and other nonsense happening around the complex. My downstairs neighbor happened to be a Section 8 resident, but my issue was never simply that she received housing assistance. My issue was the behavior and the lack of accountability. Affordable housing is necessary, but every apartment community still needs rules, security, enforcement, and consequences when somebody is constantly disturbing or threatening the people around them. People work way too hard and pay way too much money to come home and feel uncomfortable in the place they're supposed to feel safest. So yes, we packed our stuff AGAIN and left after only three months. Was it expensive? Absolutely. Was it stressful? Beyond stressful. But peace, safety, and being able to sleep at night are worth more to me than forcing myself to stay somewhere just because we already spent money moving there. Sometimes you just have to take the loss, protect your peace, and GO.

He had an appointment to view the apartments last Saturday (12/21/24) @ 10:00 AM. He drives all the way up to Upland and he calls Michelle who proceeds to tell him that she can't show the apartment because the maintenance is working on it. So that he could either go later that day or do for another day. No apologies or anything, I guess a confirmed appointment means nothing. When my dad contacted these apartments and spoke to her, he was very clear he was looking for a 2 bedroom, she told him they would have a 2 bed/1 ba with garage starting mid/late January, but in the meantime she could show a similar unit to get a feel for the layout. Hence the appointment on Saturday the 21st. Fast forward today, he has an appointment at 4:00 PM on Dec. 26/2024. He then proceeds to drive up to Upland AGAIN. Under the assumption the 2 bedroom/ 1 ba DOWSTAIRS unit was still going to be available in January like she knew he was looking for. She showed my dad the unit but not really she was just standing there not caring to show him around. He then asks about the downstairs apartment 2 bedroom they were in speaks of and she told him that it was already rented. Of course my dad was confused because per her words, it was supposedly not even available yet. She then is telling my dad that per him being self employed he would need to show bank statements with 30x the rent as the ending balance. Which that she never even mentioned beforehand. Be FFR, anyone with 30x the rent would not rent from these apartments that has barely to no parking and homeless people walking around. It's very clear she just did not want to rent to my dad or take him seriously for whatever her reasons were, but what angers me is wasting my dad's time!! Especially after Christmas to have to drive up to Upland in hopes of finding his new place. I have called and spoke to Michelle when I first inquired on behalf of my dad and she is quick to want to tour the apartments and get the ball rolling, but I guess only if she takes you seriously! Do better Michelle, you're not very good at your job.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience moving into this community. The unit was advertised…read moreas a "fully newly renovated" luxury unit, but within the first week of moving in I experienced multiple water leaks and ongoing water intrusion throughout the unit. The most alarming issue was water coming through a light fixture area, which is a serious electrical/fire hazard and should never happen in a unit that is supposedly renovated. There are also clear signs of long-term moisture damage such as swollen frames, rotting/deteriorating baseboards, and a strong odor in cabinets consistent with water damage. On top of that, there are pest issues (spiders) and multiple fixtures and seals that are poorly installed and coming off. Since moving in, maintenance has been in the unit almost every day, leaving the apartment dirty and disrupting my ability to unpack or live normally. I have not been able to cook or properly use my kitchen and have been forced to spend additional money on meals and cleaning. This has been stressful, disruptive, and completely unacceptable for the price of rent and the "luxury renovation" claim. I would not recommend moving here based on my experience.

I suddenly became responsible for helping my elderly parents manage their rental property with knowing next to nothing on how to begin. The situation was complicated because the house was overdue on many repairs that we were completely unaware of. (We has a tenant for over 8 years though who we never heard from.) From severely water damaged panels to a destroyed door to an outdated electrical panel, the house needed serious TLC and was not safe. Right before I started handling the house, my mother hired a family friend to do repairs but did not create an agreement to a set cost for the repairs before he began work. He didn't know what to charge, and I certainly didn't know what was the right amount to pay. Awkward! Samuel was a breath of fresh air to a stifling situation. He helped mitigate the situation with our handyman family friend issue, advised on what other repairs were more immediately necessary than others, had sourced out the most responsive yet cost-competitive contractors, and did his absolute best to keep us on track to try to get our property ready for rental as fast as possible. The house was ready and rented in less than 2 months, which seemed near impossible when I first got involved. Just to balance out the review, I will say I don't find the property management portal is the most user friendly, but I am so grateful Samuel was such a humongous help with his knowledge and attentiveness during such a time-pressed and difficult time. Once TNCR took over, they increased the rent by nearly 80% and added an additional monthly CAM charge for maintenance. The funny thing is, every time we submitted maintenance requests, they ignore us for months. After we have followed up tirelessly, send over technicians to do the bare minimum instead of working on a long-term solution (I'm willing to bet they are paying pennies to these technicians too). We were paying a ridiculous amount for a tiny space with 2 parking spaces. Our roof was leaking and moldy from the rain for months while they ignored our requests for assistance. It doesn't end there. After we moved out to a much better place, they had the audacity to send us a disposition letter not only keeping our security deposit, but requesting an extra $2k from us with no itemized receipts or details about what they plan to use it for. They demanded "$800 for general cleaning due to dust build-up." Wow, I didn't know a duster and some Clorox wipes would cost $800! I knew they are just trying to get any dollars they can out of us. Very shady. TNCR, shame on you for taking advantage of small business owners. For you to be both overpriced and poorly serviced is embarrassing. Pick a struggle. Don't rent from this company, they do not care about you at all.

Now about the service, I am a single mother, and it was extremely helpful that Christina and her staff was very transparent. Each time I called or needed something I had an answer and if it was something that couldn't be answered right away there was always that great communication. I would definitely recommend their company to anyone looking to purchase or rent. I am currently working towards eventually purchasing and with Christina's guidance I am almost there :)
