Montecito used to be a nice place to live but like another reviewer mentioned it has changed and not for the better. The clientele has changed. New tenants no longer abide nor respect property, creating more work for maintenance workers and a less pleasant environment for other tenants. I have spoken to office workers about the constant loud music and stench of pot around and in my apartment and am told to "take a picture". It seems they are afraid to confront the tenants themselves. Whatever happened to "covenant of quiet enjoyment". They may place signs saying No Smoking but be forewarned it is not enforced. I would move but am afraid I would encounter the same problem elsewhere. I have moved for some of the same reasons 3 times already. read more

One of the best community in Rancho Cucamonga. It's location is perfect for everything. The elementary school is just five minute walk. Plenty of big markets are just a few minutes away by car. There is an amazing park which is considered one of the best in the city with an access to it from the community. The 210 is very close. Also, the Milliken road takes to the 10. Most of the famous restaurants, centers and clinics are close by. They are all located in Foothill Boulevard which is two blocks away from Montecito. Talking about the apartment, it's very clean and it's been renovated 5 years ago as I heard from the residents. The community has a playground area and a basketball field and also a very nice swimming pool and Jacuzzi too. The staff there are so friendly. From day one, Britney helped us a lot in a professional way. She made everything easy and clear for us. She always welcoming and has a big smile and she is ready to get things done efficiently. The maintenance guys are so helpful. Once I submit the service, they come at the same day or maximum the next day. Thank you so much Hector and Terry for the beautiful moments. I love the people very friendly and the maintenance team Hector is very attentive to the community needs he's spot on! And his work is exceptional he cares for the community and goes over and beyond to fix whatever it is that needs fixing or repaired and will do a follow up with you to ensure its working or fixed properly! My daughter lives here and pays 1400 a month for a 800 sq ft apartment. Its clean and the parking is fantastic. It used to be very peaceful until the management refused to do anything about a barking dog on a balcony that barks non stop day and night. NO ONE LIVING IN DENSE HOUSING SHOULD HAVE TO DEAL WITH A YAPPING HIGH PITCHED BARK ALL DAY LONG. Look somewhere else to live the management does not protect your peace and quiet. read more

The staff was very accommodating and flexible with the schedule. They were able to get us in before new year in a matter of 2 days. The original schedule for move in was after New Years but we were able to move in before the new year ended. We appreciate it very much. The unit upon the walk through was in good shape except for a loose hinge in one of the cupboards, but maintenance came up immediately to solve the issue. read more

I have lived in a one bedroom apartment at Montecito for the past year and have really enjoyed living here! I have always felt safe walking around the grounds. It is quiet for the most part and there is always plenty of parking near my apartment, which is at the back of the complex. I love that my apartment has vaulted ceilings on the second floor and a spacious closet with indoor laundry. There is a park nearby, which is easy to walk to. The maintenance team has been awesome and responds to requests fairly quickly. For an urgent issue the night manager has responded immediately. The staff is racially diverse and very friendly. I have had no major issues here at all. It doesn't have as many amenities as the last apartment complex I lived in and there are rent increases it seems every year, but other than that, this has been a beautiful community and I am very happy to live here. read more

My family and I really enjoy living at these apartments. The staff is amazing, both office staff and maintenance. The apartment grounds are well kept, and the apartment interior are really nice as well. The area is perfect for families. The apartments have direct access to a beautiful park, and there's a waking/biking trail. You can lease bikes at the office and the gym although small, is really nice. The only thing I would change is the flooring in the interior of the apartments, I wish they came with floor/laminate instead of carpet. Other than that, we've had a positive experience staying here. The maintenance crew is good and punctual in answering and fixing service requests. I give them five stars. The grounds are nice, lots of green. But some of the office staff can be somewhat officious. I could choose from several examples, especially since the beginning of the pandemic, but I'll just share one small one. A couple of months ago I got a call from a person who introduced himself as the new Community Director, which left the impression there was no one above him to appeal to. He told me he was going to send me a violation letter unless I removed the broom from my patio. First I'd heard of it. I complied, but then later the same day noticed my next door neighbor's broom was still on his patio as it always is, and a neighbor just down the walkway had her broom in its permanent place on her patio. And walking the grounds, i saw it is common. But I let it go. Now I've learned that person is not the director. I did get a call today from the actual director, Chris, who was very helpful and clear in explaining things. That earns an update on stars and some good will. read more

I moved to Montecito after about a month of searching for a nice, affordable apartment between Rancho and Glendora. I was drawn there by the tidy appearance of the grounds, friendly staff, and very nice model apartment. However, the apartment I moved into looked much different with old carpet, a manual thermostat, and vinyl countertops (after I specifically asked and was assured it would be very similar). Also, the walls are extremely thin--I could usually hear my neighbors talking on the phone with a normal tone of voice! About 6 weeks after I moved in, my apartment was broken into through the window (they were locked and additional window locks they provided applied). While the staff was appalled to hear that something like that had happened, they shouldn't have been surprised--I often saw people digging through the dumpsters, and the entire complex is VERY poorly lit. I ended up moving to an apartment at the nearby Carmel apartments (also a Lewis community), and it is MUCH better (albeit a bit more expensive). I was not happy with how my situation was handled, but beyond that, these apartments are not as nice as they appear, and I want to inform any potential tenants of what they should expect--info I wish I would have known before moving in myself. read more

The staff is very nice, beyond nice, the apartment is very nice, the grounds are well manicured. If you are considering leasing here I highly recommend you have the leasing office show you exactly where your garage is. You are required to park in the garage and you need to know how far away your garage is from the apartment you are considering. If you have a back or hip problem you will find it's just too far to carry your groceries, etc and there are lots of kids on bikes and scooters while you are trying to carry your goods home! I don't mind noise, I live alone and work at home alone so it's good to hear the human voice, if you really crave quiet, don't chose one near the pool or the basketball court- it gets crazy. The staff in the leasing office try their hardest but it's corporate-owned and corporations are not human friendly, it's all about policy. So lease here, but make sure you are comfortable--especially the parking before you sign a lease. That was my biggest regret read more

I first have to say I am very surprised at some of the other reviews from 2013 (1's & 2's). I've been with the Lewis Properties since 2008 or 2009. I was first at Sycamore which I DID NOT like due to the bad area in Ontario. I then moved to Del Mar across from Montecito which was definitely a wonderful experience. The remodeling phase started and I was forced to move out of my unit and this is how I ended up at Montecito. I've lived here for a couple years; prior to the remodel phase and now in the newer upgrades which are beautiful. I've never had a pest control problem at any of the Lewis properties except for Ontario with all the stray cats on my patio. Montecito has been a pretty good experience; the complex is very quiet, except I had one neighbor who left her windows open all night with her two noisy teenagers always fighting each other. Its been very quiet since they moved out thank goodness. If you are like me and enjoy peace and quiet when you open your windows or door during the daytime then I'd recommend living near the back of the complex or in the middle away from the leasing office. The pool is next to the leasing office which can get a lot of daytime activity during the weekends and good weather days with screaming children and adults (at least until 7:45pm). However, if you keep your windows and doors closed you will not hear all the ruckus. Maintenance has always responded within 24 hours of any service we've needed. When moving into my units they were extremely clean. Before moving in, you have to do a walk through of the unit and write down anything that does not fit your liking; typically it's fixed before you move in or within 24-48 hours. Beware, the parking in the front really SUCK and they've just recently enforced single car owners that we must park in the garage, so all parking passes were revoked if you only have one car. I walked to my car two weeks ago to find a Final notice on my windshield, except I never received any notice prior to the warning that my car would be towed. The garages are not very close to the units and people in the same size unit with two cars, will get a garage and a parking pass. Other than that, I've had a good experience. The complex has a gate with direct access to the walking trail and Milliken Park. The overall neighbor is very nice and I've even gone jogging at dusk. It's close to several shopping centers with Ralphs being within walking distance and there is an elementary school just a two blocks away. Yes I would recommend Montecito. P.S. There are beautiful hiking trails not far from the area if you enjoy hiking or you can rent bikes from the leasing office and ride along the Pacific rail trail. read more

Friendly (employed :) ) residents. Excellent maintenance staff (Gary is awesome). Next to a Terra Vista Elementary School (Rated 9-10 statewide). Lewis Homes has many free events for residents. The Bad: Super anal on small things. Even if you DON'T HAVE A CAR; you CAN'T keep anything in your garage without constant hassle. The "inspection team" likes to look through your garage windows to see if anything besides a car is there. Seriously. Special arrangements have to be made if you like to keep plants outside also. Constant management changes. Managers have changed 3 times so far since I have lived here. read more

STAY AWAY! This company does not care about the residents, only profits. When I moved in two years ago the staff and the manager were on top of things. Since then,between the staff turn over and new manager, this place is has gone down hill. I Had an incident with a night manager blocking my car with his body while writing residents parking citations. He refused to move and was trying to tow my car after the first offense. Told the manager and nothing happened because they protect their staff and let them act however they wish. Contacted the Corporate office and I was then notified that my lease will not be renewed. They clearly side with staff that over step their authority. Better to stay away while this behavior is allowed by Lewis communities. read more

I had 2 of my windows smashed in at 7:30am in broad day light. A neighbor heard a loud noise, ran out to see people taking stuff out of my car, and drive off. She called the emergency number, someone answered and directed her to the main office. The maintenance team answered said they would go check it out. I never got a call from the main office about this. I later go out to my car to go to work at 3pm to find my car broken into. The maintenance came over and said "ohh yeah we got a call about this earlier". THEY NEVER TOLD ME. What is that?! Oh and did I mention that our gate has been removed for 3 months because it needs to be rebuilt? I called corporate, they basically said they don't care and won't do anything to help me with a reimbursement for their failure to maintain their property resulting in residents property being damaged, their property being damaged, and residents being put in harms way. I would suggest you NEVER move here. They don't care about their residents. read more
