We rented a Jeep to do some primitive camping in the desert of northern Nevada and we could not have been happier with the rig that we were provided! Everything we needed was provided! We felt very safe in the desert and we traveled over some very rough terrain! Thank you for helping us make some great memories.

We rented a Toyota Land Cruiser for a trip down to Big Sur and had an amazing time. The vehicle was totally prepared to we just had to show up with sleeping bag, food and a head lamp. Mason was so helpful and even helped us plan out trip. His tips and this vehicle took all the stress out of snagging a campground spot and opened a whole new world of car-based "backcountry" to me. I would definitely recommend Pacific Overlander and can't wait to head out again.

Go beyond the places that the rest of the people only can see in Google. If you have an adventurous soul, this is your best option. Mason, the owner, is your best guide to obtain the best advises and suggestions to enjoy your travel.

I went with a Toyota Corolla, which I drive personally. I like to stick with something I'm used to. It was about $250 for four days. I arrived right on schedule and the car was waiting for me. The gentleman behind the counter was super helpful and friendly. He walked me through everything I needed to know, even the details on tolls and stuff. The car was about two blocks from their office, but they explained how to get to it and even had a print out of a map to help get me there. It also had pictures so there was no way I was going to miss it. The car was a 2021 and in great condition and had a full tank of gas. Another positive of getting a Toyota is the gas mileage. I went to Sonora and back (roughly 275 miles) and I only had to refill once before I dropped it off... which was also super easy. I simply dropped it off where I picked it up and handed the valet the key. I would totally rent from here again if I find myself in the heart of San Francisco and in need of a ride for a few days.

Customer service was super clear and nice, got all the paperwork done when I arrived, and gave clear directions for pick up and drop off. Cars are located at a garage two blocks up from the office, so adjust accordingly if in a rush or carrying a lot of luggage. Drop off is super easy, just leave the keys with the parking attendant and you're done! My only small issue is that as a small local company, you might be in a bit of a bind if you need service or have an accident after hours and far out of the city.

If you're renting in San Francisco, I'd recommend this Enterprise location. It's a smaller branch, but don't let the size fool you. We visited over the recent federal holiday, so it was busy with customers returning vehicles, yet Vincent and his team kept everything moving smoothly and professionally. I originally wanted an SUV to make the drive home a little more comfortable after dealing with San Francisco's rough roads. Vincent took the time to walk me through the vehicle, completed a thorough inspection with me, and clearly explained everything before I left. Even as a loyal Enterprise customer, I appreciate that level of transparency, it gives you confidence that there won't be any surprises later. Shout out to Vincent and his team for turning a stressful weekend into a much easier experience. Customer service, honesty, and professionalism like this are exactly why I continue choosing Enterprise. If you're renting in the Richmond District, this is the location I'd recommend.

On May 20 at 5:01 pm, I received a voicemail message from Nick essentially stating that he had been trying to locate a 7-seat SUV for me for the "past couple of days" but that it had been challenging. I called back at 6:43 p.m., but the office closed at 6pm. I called the following day at 8:24 am and spoke to Vincent, the Branch Manager. He essentially told me the same thing - stating that they didn't have an SUV at that given moment and that they would call me when they secure one. When I asked why they would confirm an SUV reservation if they did not have the vehicle, his response was, "That's a good question." Since I needed the car in less 4 hours and they could not guarantee anything, I decided to cancel the reservation. Vince sent me an email at 8:43 am, stating, in part: "When we connected today, I understand you preferred not to proceed under those circumstances." Okay, where do I begin?!? First of all, it was not my preference to cancel the reservation I booked months ago. To continue to sit around and wait for you guys to continue working on TRYING to secure an SUV for my rental would be absurd and, quite frankly, just plain stupid. I needed the vehicle in less than 4 hours. So, while it was NOT my preference to cancel, I had no other logical choice!!! Second, if you guys had been trying to secure a vehicle for me for a "couple of days," I would have appreciated a phone call a lot sooner (NOT 7 hours prior to the scheduled pick up) - allowing me to explore other alternatives. Does that sound reasonable to you guys? Does that make sense? How about not confirming a reservation when you guys don't have the vehicle? Does that sound logical? This is just a quick review for folks out there looking for a rental place. I plan to write to the company's CEO and Better Business Bureau. As we all know, they won't listen!!! But consumers will... I love how the company's response below directs me to their website - unbelievable. Clearly, they're not in the business of making things "right!"

Bruce used a scooter to return to the Kyte lot in the Mission. My one mistake was not filling our car up with gas on our return. There were gas stations on the SF side of the Golden Gate Bridge. Kyte charged me more than $8.75 a gallon to fill my car after promising to use competitive pricing. Shame on you Kyte, but all the rental car companies do that. But, $8.75! Bruce came again to pick up my car at the appointed time. He was just as kind, and I tipped him an additional $10.00. They also took my $200 deposit, so I was already out a lot of money before I even realized what they did. When I went back in to talk to them, they admitted they made a huge mistake. They said they would credit me back over $300, plus give me a $50 credit for the trouble. They even told me the crazy gas charge -- $180 for gas -- was way too high and they would fix it. After all that, guess what? They only credited me $51. That's it. After promising me hundreds back. Then I called customer service hoping someone would fix it, and the lady on the phone was extremely rude. Didn't help, didn't care, nothing. Sixt is honestly one of the worst places I've ever rented from. I would tell anyone: RUN. Find ANY other rental company besides them. And to make things worse, when I first went there, the employees were trying to do shady stuff. They literally told my husband before that if he gave them an extra $50 on the side, they'd "hook him up" with a better car. That's fraud. That's the type of people they have working in there. This whole thing was a horrible experience. Waiting days for my money back, getting lied to, overcharged, and treated badly by customer service. Sixt is not honest, not professional, and not worth the headache. As soon as you see that orange Sixt sign, RUN in the other direction.

Their customer service (via phone) couldn't justify some of the fees (eg $16 of "airport transport") and said they were from Booking.com. 2) The rental location is OFF the airport. You'll have to wait for up to 15 minutes for the shuttle to get there. This means you'll queue up with a bunch of other people (To be honest, they moved pretty fast). They charge $25 if you want to be taken back to the terminal directly when you drop the car. 3) I bought a tank of gas in advance, and I was told that they would "refund up to half tank of unused gas". But I was told (when I returned) they meant they refund half a tank if you return more than half. 4) People are reporting high late fees. I actually returned early, and I still don't know why the extra $170. 5) They will try to sell you a $200 weekly plan for tolls, but when I checked online, it looks like you can just pay the tolls on the web with the plate. I didn't try it, so I can't confirm, but now you know. On the bright side, the car was OK, even if a little scuffed and stained, and the return was very quick.

When I returned the car, I told the person checking in the car what happened. She didn't say anything more, asking if I "called customer service." I hadn't, since I used AAA. I asked if I should talk to the representatives inside, and she said yes. As I waited in line, everyone in line who had a Europcar reservation was moved to the priority line. Everyone there got served before Fox customers, and if a van arrived with Europcar customers, they were served prior to anyone in the Fox queue. When I finally reached the front of the line, the next representative told me he was going to lunch. So I had to continue waiting. Finally, I was called to the desk, and I explained what happened. She misunderstood and handed me another set of keys, and I tried to explain that I don't need another car, that I'm reporting a problem with the rental. She asked what I wanted her to do. I told her one, I assume they need to tell someone that there's a problem with the battery so they don't rent it out again, and two, I would appreciate some kind of small compensation for the inconvenience of having to spend my time wait to have the battery jumped. She just said she can't do that, they only do the rentals, and anyway the reservation was closed. I should have called Fox roadside service, she said. I tried to find a customer service email address, but the website only offers "Invoice; Rewards credit; US Govt inquiry; and Billing or Cancellation" as options to contact customer service. I won't be renting from Fox after this. The one bright point was Pam, the driver of the airport shuttle, who was very friendly and offered genuine apologies for the experience.
