Okay, Yelp.....what's up with removing reviews?? This is the 4th of my recent reviews that went…read more*poof*...let's get on that. (business owners have mentioned this to me as well!) Anyway, let's focus on the wonderful Evergreen Eye Care. Dr. Zamberlan and her staff are consummate professionals. I haven't had such a modern, comprehensive exam in a long time. The staff are so welcoming, from making my appointment to my first visit. Unlike a lot of medical offices, the waiting room is not crowded and Dr. Z. takes her time sharing her knowledge with her patients. I truly felt valued and am so happy to have found my "forever" eye care practice. Sandy was the assistant at my visit...so friendly and knowledgeable. Nicole helped me select 2 frames (which are very reasonably priced) plus new reading lenses and offered me their current discounts. They have such a nice selection and I've never chosen glasses so quickly! I cannot think of any suggestions to make other than to ask that you please continue to do what you are doing. Evergreen Eye Care is awesome. *Update: I referred my hub to EEC and asked him about his experience. He said, "I loved it!!" He went on to share how complete his exam was and all the great suggestions Dr. Z. offered. In this era of impersonal, conveyer-belt medicine, Evergreen is the antithesis. We are fans for life!

Evergreen Eye Care is top-notch. Everything from the friendliness and professionalism of the…read moreentire staff, to the cleanliness and modern atmosphere, to the amazing technology is the best I've ever experienced. The waiting room features a hot and cold water dispenser, as well as a Keurig coffeemaker with a huge variety of flavors. Chairs are plush and comfortable. I was particularly impressed with the technology in the pre-exam area. There are four machines right in a row. The first is an interactive test for peripheral vision / size of field of view. The second is an automatic test to establish one's baseline eyeglasses prescription, featuring a barn at the end of street on a grassy field to look at as opposed to others I've experienced that have nothing or a blurry circle. The third is an "air puff" glaucoma tester, and the fourth is one that takes photos of one's eyes. The wait to see the eye doctor was very short, and Dr. Hu was extremely professional, polite, and helpful. She was the first eye doctor who was ever able to answer my questions about how to determine which of two lens choices to pick. Here is the conversation: "Which is clearer, 1, or 2"? I said that "1 may look a bit sharper, but the 'O' looks like a square where it looks round on '2'". Her advice to choose the one that is less distorted seems to have made all the difference in the world. The prescription I got was far and away the easiest to adjust to I've ever experienced. They literally required no adjustment period at all. It was instantly perfect. I was also very happy that this exam, despite it having been my first exam in over a decade, didn't require my eyes to be dilated. I'm not sure exactly why this is, but I'm not complaining. If you're a new patient, don't get discouraged by the long wait time before you can get in. The reason that they're booked solid for a few months out is because they are great, and waiting is definitely worth it.

They made sure to call us the day before with a reminder, text us with the link For the necessary paperwork to fill out, and answered any questions. I was also impressed with the technology they have on site. It turns out my husband has two cataracts, which we knew were impacting his vision. However, I was impressed that Dr. Lewis recommended that my husband not get glasses until after having the cataracts removed. He discussed the referral for cataract surgery and who he recommended. The doctor explained things exceptionally well and very clearly. My eyes are fairly weird having had bacterial spinal meningitis many years ago. I have pseudo tumor, a.k.a., my brain thinks it has a brain tumor. Some doctors deal with this information. Well, as did Dr. Lewis. He showed me how my retina are actually crinkled from the brain pressure I have. He also explained that I would need to have a very different type of surgery eventually, and that this is affecting the vision of my left eye far more than my right. This is the most information I have gotten out of any doctor regarding my vision in over 30 years. After this positive experience, both of us agreed that we would keep Dr. Lewis and his staff. I'm really happy that our family member had recommended him. It was also very easy to just go out his door with my prescription and order a regular pair of glasses and sunglasses at the Costco optical center. With $50 off the second pair, I was able to get both pair of glasses for right around $300 , and this included the bifocal lenses that have no line.

He is kind, VERY thorough, and takes lots of time to explain my eye care needs. I am getting ready to have eye surgery, and he was so, so great at explaining and showing me images of my own eyes as to why I need it. I am a healthcare provider myself, and trust Dr. Lewis with all of our family's eyecare needs! HIs staff is also kind and great!!!

They are extremely close to another eye clinic I had been to 3 years ago. I didn't recall that clinic's name but assumed if someone had my email and was located at an address on that road, it was the same clinic. I called and when asked about insurance said Aetna to which the person on the phone responded as if that were impossible for vision insurance. I have Aetna Vision Preferred (855-347-6899) in point of fact. I said it hadn't changed since my prior exam there so should be on file. Person responds that they are not seeing that info and that it says I would be a new patient. So then I realized it was not the same clinic. I said "Oh you are very close to the one I went to before and I thought they would be the only ones sending me an email. You're right. That was my confusion." Person then says *snidely* "Well we are going to need insurance information. You haven't been here before (snide slight laugh)." Yes we just established that in my statement from 2 seconds ago... "You are right. That was my confusion." I just decided to end the call at that given that now I was probably not going to convince this person my insurance was Aetna. At this point I realized what a blessing this call had been in clarifying this is not somewhere I would want to get care with that attitude toward customer service. Saved me a wasted trip.

This is not the clinic to go to if you are a POA or spouse of a relative with Alzheimers or any…read moremedical challenge. I have been taking my 90 year old mother to this clinic for about 6 years because she has a prescription for glaucoma that needs to be renewed yearly. She has also had cataract surgery while at this clinic. The exam is 2 hours, and includes an exam for vision, even though she has limited vision due to Alzheimers. Due to the difficulty in getting her to the clinic and her inability to sit through 2 hour exams I requested the medication for glaucoma be discontinued. I asked if it was necessary to retain what vision she has left and was told it was not, but was only for the eye pressure related to glaucoma. The Dr. did give me the facts about discontinuing the medications and answered my questions. On the other hand, his assistant that we saw right before seeing the Dr., as is standard, was obviously clueless about what Alzheimers entails in the terms of communications. I tried to explain the facts about her vision and was bluntly told not be so dismissive of what vision she has. He showed an unwillingness to listen to me and reacted to my comments like he felt I was being unkind to my mother. He continued to ask my mom questions and tried to communicate with my mother, who no longer has the ability to communicate intelligibly or answer questions. His tone was condescending and in light of the fact he clearly demonstrated during the exam he has no knowledge of Alzheimers, he was totally out of line. The short vision exam he included along with her eye pressure check supported what I had relayed to him about her vision, and he did not complete the routine exam due to both my mother's inability to follow direction and the obvious fact that she could not see even the largest chart displayed. This is not the first issue we have had at the clinic in the last two years. At the previous routine exam last year I was told they did not want me to accompany her into the exam, that it was patient only due to their overzealous covid rules. In that the exam is a very long 2 hour exam I went to get my car oil changed while she stayed at the clinic to complete the exam. I wasn't gone an hour and had just pulled up to the clinic when I received a call asking where I was. I told her I just got back to the clinic and she said "oh good". I was then told in a most rude way that they had to escort her to the restroom and that they were not supposed to have to do that. In addition they could not complete the exam due to her lack of understanding directions they gave her to assist in completing the exam. I reminded the staff of their assurance they could handle everything and that she would be fine. So much for their competency in dealing with patients with dementia. If they didn't have the ability to do so they should never have excluded me from accompanying her to the exam rooms. I did notice they have changed that policy, and wondered if others had presented the same situations causing them to realize their shortcomings in dealing with patients with medical and mental challenges. I have never reviewed a medical practice before, but in that this one seems to repeat the same level of subpar patient care I felt compelled to do so. The lack of respect and understanding displayed to those of us who bring our family members with Alzheimers and dementia to the clinic needs to be addressed and amended. We won't be returning to this clinic in the future.

I would rate my Dr 5 stars. If I could give the receptionists 0 stars I would. Rude, condescending…read moreand not wanting to do their job.
