I cannot comment on their clinical care but can only relay the following: I got an email from them about scheduling an exam. They are extremely close to another eye clinic I had been to 3 years ago. I didn't recall that clinic's name but assumed if someone had my email and was located at an address on that road, it was the same clinic. I called and when asked about insurance said Aetna to which the person on the phone responded as if that were impossible for vision insurance. I have Aetna Vision Preferred (855-347-6899) in point of fact. I said it hadn't changed since my prior exam there so should be on file. Person responds that they are not seeing that info and that it says I would be a new patient. So then I realized it was not the same clinic. I said "Oh you are very close to the one I went to before and I thought they would be the only ones sending me an email. You're right. That was my confusion." Person then says *snidely* "Well we are going to need insurance information. You haven't been here before (snide slight laugh)." Yes we just established that in my statement from 2 seconds ago... "You are right. That was my confusion." I just decided to end the call at that given that now I was probably not going to convince this person my insurance was Aetna. At this point I realized what a blessing this call had been in clarifying this is not somewhere I would want to get care with that attitude toward customer service. Saved me a wasted trip. read more

This is something you rarely say at an eye appointment - "I had fun." But I did! Everyone is so incredibly friendly, it hits me right in the heart. Usually you go to appointments and it's expected to be very in and out, let's get this done, goodbye. In my visit today, it wasn't anything like that. Everyone was friendly from the get go, making casual conversation and making great recommendations. I'm currently trying on the most comfortable contacts in the world. Where have these been the past 10 years?! I'm somehow also went home with great ideas for my wedding. I guess what I'm saying is that they make you feel like you're at home. Thanks guys! read more

I find it very disturbing that doctors office now ask for Social Security Numbers. I have my ID, my benefit cards and they still want my SSN claiming they need it to identify me with my insurance. I had similar discussion with my health insurance and other doctors office and they do not need that! (I had been the victim of fraud in the past, so I am very protective of my SSN.) So instead of caring about my well being and eye care they are more concerned about my SSN. Said if I do not provide at least the last 4, I have to most likely pay out of pocket as they can't verify that I have insurance. Sad encounter and glad I never made it further than a phone call, imagine what the care would be that I would have receive there. I also informed my vision provider about this! Awful experience. I did my eye exam here, and they wanted me to get a new glasses. I tried some glasses while I'm waiting optometrist to finish up my exam. I heard one of them told my optometrist "SORRY" cuz she didn't sell a glasses to me?! I know this is a business, but I felt i wasted their time when I heard that. And I don't know why you said sorry. u didn't help me anything, so why you think you can get/deserved my money??!! AFTER EXAM They didn't provide exam results to patients. Since I moved, Jeanne asked my new address and I got back to her and asked if she can email my exam results. She didn't respond my email yet. Btw, I've received their statements, so I assumed she saw my email, but didn't want to reply and give me my exam results. I think they don't want to provide it cuz they want keep customers stay with them. Which is ridiculous, I paid for my exam, and it's my health info, but I need to ask them again and again to get my results?? Find somewhere else!! read more

Had my first appointment and saw Dr. Nick. A young doctor but he was amazing. They were able to get me in quickly as a had an eye emergency. He took his time explaining everything and was so gentle. Most importantly, took care of my problem and I couldn't be more happier. He also offered to call him after hours if I needed assistance instead of go to a emergency room. Def recommend to go see him. read more

Do you know that feeling where everyone knows your name, you feel like you're part of a family and not a patient? Neither did I until I discovered Dr. Jankowski. Both him and his staff are amazingly down to earth. I spent a couple years trying to find an eye doctor that was down to earth and treated me like a human. Alas Mt View Eyecare was a great find, close to work, and just amazing all around. Dr. Jankowski has a wicked sense of humor and always takes time to answer my questions. I was used to appointments that felt like a quick oil change, in and out within 20 minutes. However I find myself taking 30-45 minutes here and not minding at all. I first came here with a pretty bad eye infection from contact overwear. The receptionist who answered my call was such a sweetheart and fit me in that same day. Dr. Jankowski took great care of me, gave me some antibiotic eye drops, and even wrote his cell phone number on a business card that he gave me just in case my eyes hurt worse over the weekend. I've never had a doctor do that before. Since the infection, I have received excellent care here. I got great new contacts, and Cynthia, their Certified Optician, picked out a really cute pair of glasses for me (that I would have never picked myself). I get complements on them all the time! Everyone here is professional and always go above and beyond. I would and I do recommend my eye doctor to anyone who is looking for a great one. read more

I would never go back here, most the staff was nice... however the lady trying to sell me glasses/lenses kept disagreeing with me on other options being available somewhere else. Basically saying I was wrong. I just want to get my prescription here and not be forced to buy actual retail prices! Also, $189 for an eye exam is outrageous, I assumed it was going to be competitive with most every other place in Clark county. Nope! The most kind and compassionate eye clinic I've ever walked foot into. You will be treated like a family member... and cared for above and beyond normal practices. Dr Christen Jankowski is a GEM! His sense of humor and uplifting spirit made it so easy for me to adjust from never having eye issues to wearing glasses. I felt like I'm visiting an uncle every time I had an appointment. This is my first and only Yelp review. I created this account solely to rate this business. They deserve it. We were worried about our autistic daughter's first eye exam. She's moderate on the spectrum and we were hoping to find someone experienced with special needs children. Having been through this process several times we have a keen sense for when someone is bullsh*tting us to get our business....this was not the case with Mt. View Eyecare. They were forthright about their lack of experience, but they were also willing to be as flexible as necessary to get our daughter's eyes checked. They scheduled our appointment as the last of the day and assured us that we could take as long as necessary. They were better than their word. The entire staff was warm and inviting, giving us no indication that we were keeping them beyond their normal hours. As for the exam, well let me say that Dr. Jankowski may not be an expert in autistic children, but he absolutely knows kids. He's perceptive enough to catch the non-verbal cues, patient enough to wait for the kids who have difficulties, and understanding that the process may be a bit frightening. He is a consummate professional. This review isn't just for kids, I got my eyes checked and purchased a new pair of glasses during our visit. My experience was ultimately the same as my daughter's: filled with relief. Don't be thrown by the strip mall location, this staff is as good as it gets! If I could give 10 stars I would! Dr. Soper and Dr. Jankowski are all about total eye care. They provided an exam and eyeglasses (which are classy and adorable), but, more importantly, caught a suspicious-looking spot on my eyelid that needed to be checked further. Thank goodness for these docs. It was later diagnosed as basal cell cancer, removed, and, since it was caught so early, my eyelid and sight were left in perfect shape! It had been about 10 years since I'd made a visit for an eye examination, and I'm so glad Mt. View Eyecare was still there. I went in to possibly get contacts for my visit. I only waited 5 or so minutes to see Dr. Jankowski and he was very friendly the entire time. I had forgotten how nice he was since it had been some time. I have eyesight in my left eye because of this doctor and his staff. I was driving by their office and had a question. I stopped and upon asking my question they knew immediately what was wrong. They got me the care I needed FAST. I had surgery the next morning and I regained the sight in my eye. No one else will care for my eyes in the future but Mt. View Eyecare! I do believe I've finally found an eye doctor I want to keep going back to each year. I've worn glasses since I was in the fourth grade (I won't tell you how long ago that was, but I promise it was awhile back). All these years, having been to four different doctors prior to my experience here, I've never been told that my glasses and contacts should be perfect before they're done with me. Sure, I know that if my contacts are off, I'm going to go back and have them fixed. They're disposable after all. However (and I know this is ridiculous for me to never have known, but I always blamed myself for it in the past), it was new to me to think that the glasses could be sent back and corrected if they weren't quite right. Cynthia made me promise several times that I would come back and see her if the glasses weren't perfect. Plus, she helped pick out frames that I love. The last place I went wasn't helpful at all in selection and didn't warn me that the frames I picked out wouldn't work well with my prescription. Everyone here is enjoyable to be around, you forget that you're there for something that may not be the first thing you want to do with an hour or two of your time. I was NOT impressed by this company AT ALL. My regular optometrist is in Portland, and i live in Vancouver. Mt View is only 3 blocks from my house. I only needed to get my new glasses tightened. I sent an inquiry online last week and did a bunch of back and forth emails which were unnecessary, when all they needed to do was just pick up the phone and call me. I went for my appy today and i was very uncomfortable from the start. I followed the lady who came and got me, then i was stopped twice to have my temperature taken (you should've done this BEFORE you told me to come in), then another employee was asking me a question at the same time another employee told me twice "ma'am cam you please have a seat over there." While getting my glasses tightened, I felt very rushed. I kept explaining they were still too loose and the lady kept saying "they look too tight on your ear." I dont care what they LOOK like, I am the one wearing them. She finally said "You can always come back of they dont fit." Obviously that is why I was here in the first place, and my glasses feel worse than they did when I first came in. Learn to listen to the customer/patient. Your company demeanor is horrendous, I left feeling like just another body. I will NOT be coming back to this establishment ever again. read more

This is one of the friendliest doctors offices I have ever been to. I was a new patient last week and Dr. Jankowski came to the waiting area to get me and took me to his office (not a stuffy exam room) in order to get my past medical history. He was extremely nice and very detailed. I returned this week for a recheck and Dr. Jankowski and the staff was already treating me like part of the family. Loved that they would fix glasses, no matter where you got them. Recently someone I know went specifically for a diabetic Lazer red/blue eye exam and said he would get a pair of reading glasses also even though he can get them cheaper elsewhere. He paid $40 copay and $88 down on his glasses, got an exam, told to come back. Today he goes back, they want $40 more for another exam and copay. He never got the exam he asked for, they don't have that machine. He cancelled his glasses, let them keep the 1st $40, and now will h,ave to go elsewhere, they are going g to mail a check, he will have to go back to get his prescription since the they did not give to him. It would not have been so bad, but when he made the appointment he told them what he wanted. It's like everyone needs to up sell these days read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Jankowski's for 11 years. For 47 years, from the age of 6, I have been near-sighted and finding a good optometrist is very important to me. Dr. J. provides the best care and his staff are awesome in helping me find the best-looking frames and taking great care in ensuring a perfect fit. I have purchased glasses and contacts from them and every time they work with me until I am satisfied with my vision needs. A few times over the past 11 years my medical benefits changed to where Dr. J. was not covered by it. I went to others and was so disappointed with the results, I went back to Mt. View and paid out of my own pocket to get their great care. I do not trust my eyes, or the eyes of my family to anyone else! read more
