Couldn't ask for better care and service from everyone I interacted with during my recent eye exam! The front desk clerk did a great job of explaining my choices, options, and how my insurance could cover my appointment. (A++ for customer service!) The assistants explained everything they were doing. (Not super fast talking like some who do somewhat repetitive activities.) The doctor took time and care to explain his findings and make helpful recommendations. He was both proactive and had suggestions for moving forward. ~ He even made a phone call after seeing my chart/records to communicate important notes for ongoing care. I wish Dr. Dodd could be my primary care doctor too! I can't speak highly enough about her. She takes her time with you and is great at explaining complicated medical stuff. You can feel how much passion she has for the work she does. I get excited to go to the eye doctor now. Her and the staff are wonderful people that seem to work together really well, I never have to wait and they make you feel right at home. I feel very lucky to live close to this office, and I'd be willing to travel to keep seeing them if I moved. They make an effort to know you personally and they get to know your style of eye wear, so they are great at helping with finding the perfect frames. I got a prescription from another eye clinic but their frame selection was very limited so I ventured onto my second choice which was East Vancouver. They had a decent amount of frames. I looked around for an hour and a half with a very patient optician. I probably tried on at least two dozen glasses finally settling on a metal hipster Kate spade frame retailing for $202. High index lenses costed ~75 dollars (trivex is 50). Without insurance my glasses would be around 500 dollars, with insurance was 233 dollars (75 for lenses, 25 for copay, insurance pays 130 for frames). Much more expensive than I thought it would be. I liked the opticians. They very friendly and great. They didn't push the most expensive frames or lenses on me. I didn't met the optometrists but I am sure they are good too. read more

I stumbled across Dr Cole 13 years ago, and am so happy I did. Friendly staff, the highest level of comfort and care, you could not ask for more from an eye care professional. I have referred anyone who even hints at needing someone to this location, and they're thrilled as well. Even though I live in Salmon Creek now I still make the drive to this clinic! The staff here are always welcoming and prompt in greeting you. They have an amazing variety of glasses, lots of different styles. Not once have I ever felt like I couldn't find something I liked there! The staff is also great at helping you pick glasses if you aren't sure what you like, you can also tell them what you're looking for and they'll find 5-7 options for you to try on. I also love that they inform you of the options for lenses (anti reflective, etc) but don't push it on you. They'll explain why they thing it would be beneficial but at the end of the day they don't continue to try to sell you on it. Love this clinic!!! The doctors are wonderful and always explain everything they are doing. read more

I have never had an eye doctor that I actually like going to. This office is wonderful. Dr. Dodd and her staff are always so kind and attentive. I am always in and out of there quickly but I never feel like it is a rushed visit. As an adult that hates adulting, I love that you can schedule an appointment easily online. Dr. Cole is very personable, thorough and I highly recommend him and the staff. I went in for an eye infection (it hurt so much!) and of course it flared up on the weekend. I left a message through their website on the weekend and Dr. Cole called me on the weekend, did an interview of my symptoms on the phone and then squeezed me in for the next day. He was awesome! I'd stay with them as a patient but I am moving a couple of hours away. read more

Our family of 5 have been going here for years and, while we have tried other places once or twice due to insurance changes, we have never been as confident anywhere else with our family's vision. We have just decided to go the self-pay route and it has been 100% worth it to stick with East Vancouver Eye... turns out we are only spending a little bit more out of pocket without using our VSP insurance. Dr. Cole, Dr. Dodd, and their entire staff are the most professional, friendly, and efficient team. I am always impressed with the office's technology and the precision of how everything is run, from the entire booking process to our exams and then fittings for glasses and contacts. Most recently our 7 year old was diagnosed with progressive myopia; however, Dr. Cole recognized his nearsightedness at an exam when he was just a year old and we were able to stay on top of it. Our little guy confidently wore glasses before he started school with the help of the super cute and durable red frames he chose, of which he received compliments on all the time! :-) Now, with this new diagnosis, Dr. Cole and his team have bent over backwards to provide us with the newest and most affordable treatment options including drops and daily contacts! It was a huge learning curve for us but the team lovingly and patiently gave us all the tools we needed and he wears them like a champ now! All this to say, I can't recommend East Vancouver Eye enough. read more

Absolutely love this place! Took my two sons 4 and 2 years old for their first eye exam. They were tired and very cranky and I honestly felt bad for Dr.Cole to have to put up with them, but he was so patient and kind. Took his time and reassured us that he has kids of his own and knows how it is, to not worry about it. Made us feel so much better! He was so gentle and tried to make the whole experience entertaining for my kiddos with toys, stuffed animals, showing them the tools, playing a movie etc.... Highly recommend this place to all parents. His staff were really sweethearts too! I loved Dr. Dodd and the staff at this location! They were able to fit me in on a Saturday. Everyone in the office is extremely friendly! Only negative thing I could say is how long it takes to get your glasses made. It has been a week today and still haven't gotten a call that they are ready. I was so excited to find the perfect pair, I hate having to wait for them when a lot of places have a same day turn around. I was extremely happy with my with my appointment, excellent staff, extremely knowledgeable and very comfortable, professional office. It was probably the best eye appointment I've ever had. Which is great, as long as you don't work a regular 8-5 job. I was told after my appointment that my glasses would be ready in about two weeks. Two and a half weeks later, I received a call that my glasses are ready. I went in that Saturday to pick them up, and their office was closed "to give their staff more time with their families". While this is a noble cause, their only weekday hours are 9-5, which means I won't get my glasses until four weeks after my appointment. Recommendation - make a Saturday appointment for an exam and take your prescription elsewhere. read more
