Massage = 5 stars. What I highly don't recommend is the relentless hard sell to become a member while paying for the massage and trying to leave. When a paying customer politely says "no thank you", it might be a good idea to stop the pitch and listen to the customer. The membership pitch at the end ruins what could be a wonderful massage experience. Paying for the massage = 1 star. Probably won't be back.

It was not as highly offensive until the end when I turned over and needed to cover my face with the sheet and blanket. I immediately reported this to the front desk as I was leaving. The owner did not offer to discount the massage due to my experience. Instead, she quickly excused herself to "make sure I give him a mint before his next appointment". To make things even worse, on my next appointment when I needed to cancel two hours prior due to a personal situation I was told I would be charged $55 for the late cancellation. My suggestion is to earn customer loyalty.

I scheduled an appointment with Richelle with no expectations. I was experiencing acute upper back…read morepain and she was the first clinic to return my call. I was panicking about finding someone to relieve my pain before embarking on a physically challenging vacation in a few days. Richelle was enormously knowledgeable. She was patient and focused as she methodically massaged to the heart of my discomfort. She clearly has an understanding of human anatomy and the interconnection of each muscle. I get so frustrated with the new-agey vibe that often accompanies massage clinics. It's just not my thing but if I want a massage I have to muscle through the hippy dippy stuff. Richelle was refreshingly clinical and she got right to work. 90 minutes later I could hardly feel the pain that brought me to Richelle in the first place. I highly recommend Richelle from Self Balance Massage. The clinic isn't exactly a "spa" experience but, in this case, you can't judge a book by its cover. There is a little pearl hiding inside this brick building!
