Called for an emergency appointment because I was having problems with my eyes. They got me in within two weeks which was faster than others. When I checked in, they were a little confused about the purpose of my visit and thought it was a vision check. I told them I didn't need my vision checked (I have 20:20 after Lasik), I was having problems. After a few minutes and am insurance check, they were able to modify the paperwork and move forward. I was worried that I may not get answers since they had scheduled my appointment incorrectly but it went very well. I walked away knowing what was wrong and ways to improve it. I didn't even get to the stage of making an appointment. I think it's fair to leave a review so they can possibly improve. I called and the person answered said "Hi, can I put you on hold thank you" without waiting for a response. I sat for a full 5 minutes on hold. I hung up and called somewhere else. When I worked phone customer service, we were required to check in every 2 minutes with the person on hold. After reading the reviews on this place, I made the right choice going somewhere else. read more

I have been a patient of Pacific Eyecare for many years. This year prior to my appointment I visited the optical shop and asked John to order me a set of Nike frames. After my appointment I stopped by the optical shop for a copy of my eyeglasses prescription and asked about the frame order. John was not in the shop and they said they would check with him. The next day he left a message that he forgot to order the frames and to let him know, once again which frame I wanted. I called the optical shop and left a detailed message, for John, which frames I wanted. Never hearing back from Pacific Eyeware I went to another optical shop and ordered a set of glasses. Overall our experience with the Dr's and staff have been great. However, Morgan at the front is probably the most unpleasant person we've dealt with in a service position. Her lack of any kindness has been consistent. She gets snippy if you ask any questions out of the norm. But, today she got up to talk to another staff member... she looked over at us... and clearly continued to complain about my situation. Unfortunate. read more

I have had cataract surgery on both eyes over the last couple of months. I've had 8 visits. The Dr and the girls there are very good and nice. My problem is they over schedule patients on any given day. Not one of my visits have I seen the Dr in a timely manner. My usual wait time to see the Dr is one and a half hours. I can understand one or two times but every visit. Today my last visit post surgery was at 9:40. at 10:40 I calmly walked to the front desk and told them not one of my visits have been timely. The nice lady said let me check and see how much longer. I told her no, I'm done. I am done and walked out. Why does this facility over schedule patients. I'm sorry but the wait time for a scheduled appt should not be and hour and a half later. So for that reason only I will never go back. read more

Pacific Eye care totally sucks! Dr. Kendricks and her stuck up staff are some of the rudest people I've ever encountered. I needed contact lenses and had to wait 5 months for an appointment. I don't even think that's legal for a Medical Practice. The folks at Pacific Eye Care want to act like you don't have a choice - well guess you do have a choice. David O'Morchoe was the Principal ophthalmologist in the practice. When he retired, Drs James Lin and Noble took over the practice - and ran it into the ground IMHO. Dr. Noble is an Optometrist and is "OK". Dr Lin MD is a problem (for me.) When they gave "bedside manners" courses in medical school, he must have cut class that day. He is verbally short, curt, communicates poorly and is not interested in discussing your condition. If you (somehow) manage to ask a question, he asks "why are you arguing with me?" He has out and out lied to me about a condition, and after a (very) short exam, is prone to just walk out. I asked the nurse whether I was arguing and she just rolled her eyes. The Staff seems to have undergone a lot of turnover (versus previous) and the admin and back office has become a mess (I showed up for an appointment and was told I had no appointment (despite my little card) and they were unable to take me that day. They said I had been rescheduled, but never told me. Bottom Line: After 22 years as a patient in this practice, I switched providers to another ophthalmological practice. For someone like me, that says a lot - a LOT. read more

Pacific Eyecare messed up my prescription and will not fix it leaving me with expensive, useless glasses. I told them the prescription was wrong and instead of checking it, their solution was to get the glasses made and then if they were wrong, they would correct the prescription and then the lenses would have to be re-made (the glasses were made by another company as Pacific won't take my insurance). Now I have the useless glasses they won't schedule an appointment. I've called 4 times over three weeks and left messages requesting an appointment (you can't actually talk to a human) and they haven't called back! read more

My family has been going here for years. This last August, when they send me the postcard to schedule I called. Turns out they schedule me too early for my insurance to cover it. I get a bill for $255 for their error. I call them-they will take care of it. Next month, another bill. Call again, they figure out they can submit it under my wife's coverage and get paid so all will be good. Another month passes and it got paid. No apologies, we'll fix the procedures or anything. Of course, they pulled my first yelp review on this...but the eye exam was fine, so I have no issues with care. The procedure of how you get your prescription is structured so you must go through their retail priced glasses shop. So a 4 star on eye exam and a 2 star on back office. read more

I went here five years ago for an exam and swore I'd never be back. I convinced myself to give it another shot since they are a nearby preferred provider for my insurance. Greeted by curt, angry reception I proceeded to wait, and wait, in an examination room while the doctor had a lengthy personal conversation with his assistant. I tried asking questions about my current optical prescription, but was quickly dismissed, told it hadn't changed and sent on my way so they could resume their infantile banter. New since I was last here, you have to checkout with reception, but are then forced to sit and wait to pickup your prescription in their optical store. After declining additional services and products I finally received a printout of my prescription. I took it to my optician and used it to order new lenses for my frames and guess what? I discover the new lenses are miserable; completely unwearable. My optician measured the power/axis in my old lenses and thinks he might understand the problem. He gives Pacific Eyecare a call. Turns out that in my chart, the doctor had attempted to copy over my prescription from 5 years ago, but transcribed a couple of the numbers wrong. I ended up paying $400 for worthless lenses. I will never return to this place. I am hoping it won't be difficult to find a provider that will provide a true exam, not just copy down my old prescription, incorrectly, and call it a day. What a waste. Next on my list is a call to my insurance company re: their list of 'preferred' providers. read more

Making an appointment was easy, I wasn't hassled about my insurance when I arrived. My appointment was later in the day, and they appeared to be a bit backed up, but technicians were good about letting me know what I was waiting for, and about how long it would be. I played poker on my phone while I waited. The doctor was very pleasant, bubbly, and youthful, but she still gave the impression she was knowledgeable and experienced. I got a good prescription, which I had to pick up in Optical (which is pretty much standard anywhere). The selection of glasses got rather pricey, but they honestly have a huge selection of all shapes, sizes, styles, and colors. I got a cheap everyday pair and a second "dress" pair for when I need to look nice. Got fitted upon pickup, and optical staff was friendly and helpful but didn't act like car salesman. Being a new patient I finally got in to be seen. Prior to my arrival I received reminders not to be late, come with paper work filled out and be 15 mins early. Well, after arriving 15 mins early with my paperwork completed I was seated in the sparsely occupied waiting room for 45 mins. Wouldn't you think if a business implores their customers not to be late then they wouldn't be late themselves. Take the money machine out of medical care and get back to customer service like the rest of the business world! If I scheduled my customers months out and persisted they not be late and then made them wait, I sure wouldn't be able to stay in business. I will not patronize this office if they think this Imperialsitc way of treating poeple is ok. read more

I had my first appointment with Dr. Moore yesterday, and I couldn't be more thrilled. I've been wearing contacts for over twenty years, and I can honestly say that I have never seen things as clearly as I do now with the contacts she prescribed for me. Wow. She and her staff were all very personable, spent a lot of time with me, and I felt that they really listened to my concerns. Dr. Moore gave me several options for my lenses and thoroughly explained the advantages and disadvantages of each one. Really, I couldn't be more pleased with the care I received. read more

I was a first time call-in at Pacific Eye Care today. I was provided with excellent receptionist assistance, was provided an appointment the same day and was well cared for by O.D. L. Dieffenbaugher. I have scheduled a follow-up appointment in a couple weeks for a full eye exam; I have further more scheduled an appointment for my wife as well. Dr. L. I arrived today at the requested time, 1:20 for a 1:30 appointment. I waited several minutes at the front desk to check in as two folks were talking to other patients. After about 3 minutes one of the women asked if I was waiting for check in and I said I was. She asked me to step to the left and speak with another woman who was making phone calls. I did so, was acknowledged, and told she'd be with me in a minute. 3 minutes later I stepped back to the right because on of the other women was free. I stepped up to the counter and was told she would be with me in a minute. That women proceeded to step over and talk to the women making phone calls. That woman said she was making calls to reschedule appointments for one of the doctors and she'd get to me in a minute. I was asked to wait again. Noting that it was now 1:30, my scheduled time, and knowing I would be asked to fill out paperwork which would make this longer I left. I"m a retired military officer and now a teacher so I have several choices for eye care. I decided to give this place a try as it's close. Last year I was fairly happy with the care but do not recommend this place. read more
