Pacific Design did an incredible job transforming our backyard. They were creative with the design, meticulously careful with the plant selection and installation, and completely professional throughout the entire project. The yard looks gorgeous and has become our favorite part of the house. Highly recommend Sui and the team! They finish our project in 2 weeks which other contractors told me at least 4weeks. I interviewed several landscaping companies before hiring Sui and his team for my landscaping project. I almost went with one popular company whose prices looked good but I realized they weren't listening to what I wanted. I elaborated on specific points I wanted in the design and thought they were listening to me. But when they sent the contract for me to sign I could see that they had not listened and did not include my requests. Sui listened and patiently answered my questions. His prices were competitive and the work was excellent. His crew is polite, hard-working and efficient. As a single female who has been taken advantage of by other contractors, I did not have that concern with Sui. I can highly recommend Sui and his team without reservations. If I do more landscaping projects I will definitely chose Sui and Pacific Design read more

It was an awesome experience working with Pacific design company, fully licensed, insured and professional. I think it's my best experience so far with a company/contractor. Sui was the company owner that worked with me during the whole process, and he ensured that I indeed get a perfect experience with them. Sui was super easy to communicate with, both in design phase or in actual work process. He was so responsible that he can catch a small fault faster than me, and ask the workers to fix. No need to worry about any back and forth communication with the company since they will make sure we satisfy. For our front yard fence, we went back and forth for three times and even asked them to repaint after they already painted. We felt kinda bad but from Sui, there's no problem. As a result, we finally found out the color we want with their help and the presentation of whole thing is perfect. The company provides a render design within the contract, and the final look of my yard is almost exactly the same as the render. During the work, we iterate on the topics daily and made sure everything is same as render. The workers were always happy to re-do as long as I get satisfied. Initially I was concerned a fully licensed team like them will be very pricy, but it turns out their price is transparent and competitive. It does not hurt to get a quote at least! read more

If you have stumbled upon my review, I would congratulate you because you are going to find a terrific landscaping company! My wife and I have interviewed 5 different landscaping companies for our front and back yard and we have decided to hire Pacific Design simply because of their responsiveness, knowledge and willingness to listen to what we want for our home. First of all, Sui is the best. He was on time, listened and always provided us with the answers we've needed for our project. We initially had a list but in going through the process of design and cost, we've decided not to replace a shed our back yard as well as paving the entire back yard. We've installed artificial grass in the front along with rocks and landscaping. For the back yard, we paved it entirely with paving stones and built a retaining wall. For the side of the house, we decided to pave that as well to clean up the area. In addition, we've asked Sui and his team to remove an old shed, uproot a tree, installed proper drainage, as well as a few side projects involving the old sprinkler system. Sui's team is fantastic. The entire project took a little over 3 weeks and everything went according to schedule. Honestly, the hardest part was for us to actually decide on what we wanted. Once that was done, everything was a go and the team worked efficiently and with skilled precision. We are very happy with their work. The project is superb and high quality. I would highly recommend any future customers to give them a call! read more

We loved the new backyard that Sui's team made possible. We are in Sunnyvale with limited land space and had a pool that was getting old and breaking and not used except for the continuous maintenance needed. We finally decided to fill in the pool. Now we have a wonderful, functional and usable backyard. We had a party with 15 adults and several children, and the backyard easily entertained everyone. It's big enough now to even play some practice pickle ball or badminton. Sui's team are super skillfull and got the job done quickly. They showed up when they say they would. The project was complete in a matter of a few weeks of which 2 weeks we were not home due to work travel. Sui also stuck to his quote for what he says he would do. The whole experience is very pleasant. We feel that this was so worth it to do and wished we had done this earlier. I highly recommend Pacific Design. read more

I was looking for a professional landscaper to redo our backyard. I talked with nearly 10 landscapers in the area and eventually chose Sui and his team. What I cared about the most is the draining system. I got entirely different solutions with different cost, and different design. Among them, Sui provided a detailed plan to ensure the water is not going to accumulate near the foundation wall. We discussed several times around the final solution and every time Sui was very patient and listened to my requirement, and made accommodation to the solution before it's finalized. Pacific's eventual price is around the mid point of the estimate range I got. However quality control is also quite important as you don't want your French drain to stop working after a few years and the weed starts growing between your pavers. As told by Sui that his team is fully licensed with all the insurance available, and some showcases from their previous work, I decided to choose them in the end. Another reason was that Sui provided a very detailed estimation doc which included the exact area size requiring the work, the demolition depth, the bedrock layer depth etc. This gave me clear picture to compare their price with others. This ended up the best choice. The team arrived everyday on time and the progress tracking was pretty satisfying. I didn't need to ask them anything but every step was done within the time range. The project was completed right on time as promised by Sui. The workers were very professional on demolition and installing pavers. They followed the steps to installing pavers and ensured the grade meets the requirements for drainage. They installed bedrocks and weed barrier under the pavers and confirmed me with the grade of the surface until it met the requirement. They put clean drainage rocks in the French drain trench and the drain well to ensure the water drainage. The communication was also pretty easy. Sui speaks English, Mandarin, and Spanish, which helped a lot during the project to ensure our requirement could be delivered to the individual team members. The team also had a second project manager/coordinator to ensure the communication would be done on time if someone was busy. Definitely recommend to talk to Sui and his team if you need some landscaping work! read more

We recently bought our forever home, which required extensive front hardscaping and landscaping, and also some minor remodeling of the front exterior. We needed to redo our entire driveway (3 car garage), walkway, front yard, front patio, upgrade irrigation, upgrade lighting, etc. This would require removal of several water features and other hardscaping the prior owner had installed. Additionally, we wanted to update our front patio and garage doors. We interviewed several prospective landscapers and contractors for both the remodel and landscaping jobs. Sui offered to do both, but we were skeptical. After review of several proposals from all prospective providers, including multiple digital renders from Sui, we decided to work with Sui. Thereafter, Sui personally collaborated with us to select our materials. This included visiting numerous providers for our new pavers for the driveway/walkway/patio, stone for our retaining wall and other stone features, options for artificial grass, options for drought resistant plants, irrigation systems, lighting for our new patio/walkways/retaining wall, etc. I was very meticulous with each selection, and Sui accommodated each of my requests to visit alternative materials providers should I not be satisfied with them, which was admittedly often. Sui did not complain despite driving to several different cities to find materials in order to procure materials that met with our high standards. Demolition of our front yard and driveway was efficient. Installation of the pavers, retaining wall, artificial grass, drought resistant plants, smart irrigation systems, and smart lighting systems etc. was also efficient. His team was polite, timely, professional, and kept a tidy work area after each day of work. Along the way, we made some adjustments to the design, and Sui was always happy to accommodate. Sui was in touch on a near-daily basis to keep us updated on progress and next steps. The result of his work is that we now have the best-looking house on the street, with all our neighbors complementing his work, and our home. We are very satisfied and will continue to hire Sui for future landscaping work. I highly recommend him. read more

I have been thinking about remodeling our backyard for a while, and got consultation with few contractors, but still haven't make up my mind yet. However, when I meet with Sui's team, I got quite impressed on the way how professionally he presented his team and the quality of work their team have built in other places. To be honesty, Sui's team hasn't provided the lowest price. But he took the time to listen to our needs, preferences, and budget, crafting a customized solution that reflects the unique style and enhances the beauty of home. As the project manager Sui is very easy to communicate and honest. And their team is also professional respecting time and property. Our family are very satisfied with the final result. Pacific design is the best landscaping company that I ran into when I decided to remodel my back yard and front yard. I had my backyard and front yard done when I was living in the house, and my life was affected to the minimum during those the 2-week periods. The process is painless, and the result is incredible-- worth every penny in my eyes. They were also great at handling emergencies. One night, after they are done for that day and already gone, at around 8pm I found one of the pipe near the site was leaking a little bit. I called the manager, and he was able to get a plumber to come to us and fix it right away. I love their work, how they turn my ideas into reality. But more importantly I love how responsive they are dealing with "surprises" like leaking pipe or unseen tree roots getting in the way. I would recommend this team to all my friends and whoever is reading this. I would definitely work with them again if I have any landscaping works need to be done in the future. read more

Choose to work with Pacific Design Landscape Company to do my backyard was one of the best decisions that I madeBefore starting to do my backyard I did lots of research I found two different contractors and landscape companies but I decided to work with Sui!! The whole process of Pacific design gave us a feeling of trust. Hope my post can help someone who needs their yard done. First, they sent a designer to do the measurement. At that time we didn't have a lot of ideas about design we started out looking for some design ideas for our backyard renovation and Sui gave us a lot of suggestions and bits of advice that were very helpful. We let him do the design for us. Then a couple of days after he sent a design and 3D rendering to us we Zoom meeting a couple of times to go over some questions, and we made many changes we wanted to add a a planter bed and seating board he helped us to change and gave us updates design rendering. The whole time he was very thoughtful and nice attitude!! We signed the construction contract right after. Amazing!!!!! Our backyard only took around 5 days to finish. During construction They had a project manager check the workers and materials. we got some questions about the installation of the board the project manager solved our problem quickly and it came out beautiful!! They also clean up my backyard! It was a nice experience for us !! read more

We had a very pleasant experience with Pacific Design for our backyard landscaping remodel. Sui is knowledgeable and responsive during the process. He replied all my questions/concerns timely, very smooth communication process. As the rain season is over, landscaping companies are busy and have a waiting list almost 1-3 months to start my project. I am surprised Pacific Design can start the project immediately. Also most landscaping companies send workers to come a few hours a day and a couple days a week because workers are assigned to different jobs at the same time, it drags the length of time to complete the project. Pacific Design assigned workers to work on my project at least 8 hours a day and 6 days a week. The project was basically done in 3 weeks which was super fast. Sui also provided us a 3D design based on my architecture plan which is an added value of $2000! We are absolutely satisfied with the outcome, seeing is believing. The before and after photos are amazing. Now my kid can play basketball with dad in the backyard now, and we can enjoy the space for Bbq and party, I can plant my favorite flowers and trees on the ground. Looking forward to this summer for more outdoor fun in our "new" backyard. read more
