We got hooked up with Flor through Yardzen. At first I was skeptical thinking that surely whoever Yardzen was partnering with would be overpriced. We were planning for a full lawn upgrade, replacing a dead grass lawn with drought friendly plants an outdoor kitchen and turf in the backyard. We went all out on our dream yard and long story short, Flor delivered! I agree with the other reviewers who say this, Exiquio and Edgar, (don't forget Eduardo) are great to work with. They have a real attention to detail and you can tell that they really want to make your project successful. When you get a quote the black and white words don't talk about all the little things that they did to make the yard look like a complete project and not just an a-la-carte list of items. One example of this is that they were able to make a dry creek that wasn't in the plans from some of the left over river rock from our prior design. Over and above, and it looks good. They solved a lot of problems for us too, tying in our gutters to street drainage right before this last set of storms has been a game changer for standing water in the yard. And, we got an identical quote for the same job from another 5 star landscape company and they came in lower by a good amount, so we feel we got great bang for the buck. read more

We had a design in mind for how we wanted to renovate our front and back yard. We needed an experienced professional landscaping team that was honest, responsive, responsible, and patient. We found Flor Landscaping that fits the requirements at a Home and Garden Show in San Jose. We discussed our needs with one of the owners, Exiquio, at the Show. He was very friendly and courteous! After talking to a few other landscapers, Flor Landscaping stood out the most, and we hired them. Exiquio patiently worked with us to devise a proposal that fits within our budget without any significant changes to our original landscape design. The final estimate was decent, fair, and honest. The workers were friendly and worked hard. They started work on time and cleaned up before they left every day. Edgar, the other owner, did a great job managing the job. He listened and was responsive to our concerns. The communication between Exiquio, Edgar, my wife, and I was fantastic! Due to constant rain, there was a lot of mortar haze on the border bricks. The Flor Landscaping team returned a few weeks later and spent a couple of hours removing the haze. Also, the rain did not let the decomposed granite harden and stabilize. The team will return when the rain subsides and spray a stabilizer to set the decomposed granite. They are responsible for their work, and we admire them for that. Overall, we had a great and stress-free experience with Flor Landscaping. They built a landscape that resembled the design my wife imagined. We hired Flor to landscape our front yard after it was severely disrupted by some construction work. Working with a yardzen design the able professionals at Flor were able to map the design onto the existing yard area, suggest adjustments, alterations and improvements. They then followed through with the work which was completed exactly as expected and on time, and installed a pergola for us. Where do I start.... Exiquio , Edgar , and the whole Flor Landscaping team were great. You never know when you contact a contractor via Yelp or based on online reviews, but I can say that I hit the mark with these guys. From our initial meeting Exiquio was prompt and followed through quickly with a quote. We ended up changing some things within our design to fall within our budget, but Exiquio was able to make the adjustments and it all worked out. Initially the project was going to be two months out. My wife and I are expecting a little one in May, and we reached out to see if they would be able to fit in the demolition sometime in April, and then finish the project after the baby was born. Exiquio said they could possibly work something out. A couple of weeks later, they reached out and said they had some changes in their schedule and they would be able to start that week. Two weeks later our project is finished and it looks amazing. Exiquio and the team worked daily through rain and shine to make our backyard look beautiful. They were there promptly everyday at 7:00am and worked throughout the day. Their concrete workers were also great, they worked fast and efficiently, cement looks great.
