Large selection of products and knowledgeable associates asked about what I was looking for and what would work best for me. The manager came out to measure and discuss how the work would be done and go over possible additional charges based on my existing flooring. He provided a quote in a very timely manner and we scheduled the date! They assigned a two man team who showed up promptly on time each morning. The installers were amazing. They took such care in my home and were so respectful and efficient! They assisted with some installation questions I had and got right to work. They were so careful moving my furniture around and I was so touched that they made sure my bed area was cleared at the end of their upstairs workdays so I didn't have to sleep on the couch. They used plastic sheeting to mask off closet and bathroom contents to keep the dust down as much as possible due to the floor leveling process. They set up shop in my garage and at the end of each of the 5 days tidied the work spaces and swept up the garage very thoroughly. F and L..... thank you so much. I know I said it a lot but I really love the excellent job you did! I am so happy with the outcome. I love my floors and give OC Hardwood the highest praise possible!!! My neighbors and friends love the floors and I'm glad I grabbed a couple of business cards because they've been given away to interested parties! My two favorite comments.... I had about 5 layers of flooring layered one on top of the other which increased the height of the floor above the original hardwood floor that was installed in 1956 way too much. He tore out all the layers of flooring and got down to the original hardwood and installed the new hardwood directly on top. The finished product is perfect. 180 square feet complete in one day. I prefer to hire contractors that actually do the work themselves and work side by side with their employees like Mr. Mendoza does. It seems like all the other quotes I got were much higher because the owners are just sales people and the quote includes their overhead which may include paying for a secretary, their own pay, and the laborers that actually do the floor installation.

First impression meeting with Rafi was good. Unfortunately it just went downhill from there. The…read morefirst team who did our floor and stairs seemed to be professional as well. We did feel 12 bags of self leveling concrete was excessive when it looked like it was only used on a few corners of the room in a job less than 900 sq feet. Unfortunately one of the stair nosing broke within a couple weeks of install. Rafi was responsive in redoing the stairs stating it was a manufacturing defect and that the new version is stronger. Unfortunately the second team quality of work was very poor. They left holes in our walls that were patched poorly with plaster. Worst of all the stairs were apparently nailed to the subfloor and after a few weeks they started to rise leaving little holes and nails protruding from the floor. A few of the stair noses are loose as well. At this point, Rafi became unresponsive to have the flooring fixed. We ended up getting some of our money back through our credit card after months went by but the majority of the payment was by check. Basically we will need to replace the stairs again on our own dime. Buyer beware! Lifetime warranty doesn't mean anything if the installer ghosts you.

Problem Solving & Timeline: Our project was quite extensive--covering the entire 1st-floor living room, 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor, and 18 stairs(1,090 sq ft). The team completed the major flooring installation in three days (May 27-29). There was an unexpected issue. When the manufacturer gave defective stair noses, rather than installing them anyway, Andrew caught the flaw immediately and proactively handled the return and replacement. Once the new materials arrived, Andrew came himself on June 5 to finish the final details, including the last 3 stairs. It was different with Ammar of Kitchen Cabinet Express, Inc. After a brief introduction and a short discussion of our intentions, he got right to the point, walking with my wife, measuring and making notes and asking questions. What resulted was a reasonable estimate for the work to be done and a plan and drawings that exactly reflected our wishes. The deadline for completion was originally set for the middle of March 2026 but was completed two weeks early. Members of Ammar's team and contractors were professional, conscientious, and hard working. They showed up on time, accomplished what was scheduled for each day. As work progressed, we desired some minor changes which Ammar and his team were very flexible and responsive in accomplishing professionally and quickly. At every point - daily work and especially at the conclusion - the site was cleaned up immaculately and all detritus was hauled away instantly. Also, a great deal of care was taken to mask, cover, and protect the house, furniture, and existing fixtures from the dust and soiling that was occasioned by the remodeling work! This review is being written a month after completion as we wanted to take our time to let the "newness" wear off and appraise the overall experience. Highly recommend Pacific Coast Tile! Rudy, the owner, is exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled. From the start, he took the time to carefully examine the cracked tile and the tiles we were planning to install, explaining everything in detail and even sharing insights about different tile sources and the tile industry. Rudy helped us replace a large 24x48 tile under the toilet, flawlessly and efficiently cutting and drilling the necessary holes for the toilet installation. His work was like magic! He even managed to remove the old tile from beneath the baseboard without damaging or demolishing the baseboards--a true testament to his expertise. He also cleaned up after his work and left everything tidy. Rudy's attention to detail and willingness to educate is very impressive. He showed me the thinsets, tape, drills, and mixes he used to improve the durability and quality of his work. Rudy is not only highly skilled but also friendly and professional. We needed to have our shower in our master bathroom remodeled. He came in a timely manner and gave us a reasonable estimate. We immediately hired him. He is honest and does beautiful work. He cleaned up after he was finished for the day and left the area clean and organized. The shower came out beautiful with flawless installation of the tile and trim. The work was completed in late July, 2020. (October) We recently discovered a leak coming from the drain in the shower. Rudy immediately came out the next day and called experts in the field to help diagnose the problem. The problem was due to a defective part and no fault of Rudy. He had the part replaced and even is calling a coworker to replace the drywall. Rudy is friendly and immediately puts you at ease. We desperately needed to replace our countertops in our kitchen. We had the old ugly style of 6x6 thick ugly outdated tile. Found out a company we used for our tile work also does countertops. We contacted Rudy at pacific coast tile installation to find out if he recommended anyone for countertops. We were surprised when he said they can install them. Rudy was helpful with helping us select a piece of Granite and where to go. His partner Ernie took over from there. Ernie was there to be sure everything was installed and clean and we were happy. We recently removed a built-in and remodeled our fireplace, so the tiles around that area needed repairing/replacing. Jamen's quote was super reasonable, and once we confirmed the bid, he found us a start date right away. Jamen confirmed that one of his crew would be coming to do the job. His guy - Paolo - came punctually on the agreed upon time, explained the process, and did an awesome job repairing our tile!! Not only did he work quickly and efficiently, but he worked meticulously and made sure not to damage any existing tile. The first day took from about 9-1:30 pm to demo, cut, and set new tile. The second day he came back to do the grout (took less than an hour). Paolo explained that they wanted to make sure the tile was set/dry before grouting so that the grout color didn't blend into wet tileset color (which was white). I appreciate thoughtful, meticulous, detailed work even if it takes a bit longer. Thank you Jamen and Paolo!!! Already started referring them to friends!

I had about 5 layers of flooring layered one on top of the other which increased the height of the floor above the original hardwood floor that was installed in 1956 way too much. He tore out all the layers of flooring and got down to the original hardwood and installed the new hardwood directly on top. The finished product is perfect. 180 square feet complete in one day. I prefer to hire contractors that actually do the work themselves and work side by side with their employees like Mr. Mendoza does. It seems like all the other quotes I got were much higher because the owners are just sales people and the quote includes their overhead which may include paying for a secretary, their own pay, and the laborers that actually do the floor installation.

We finally deiced to install hardwood flooring. Alexander Flooring were the official installer for…read moreLOWE's hardware and had replaced our carpeting. Rich Alexander came out and gave us a ton of information on what to buy and where to get it. Rich gave us so much advice on the types, brands, sellers, required methods. Our project was a bit complicated. We had the room extended and the contractor did a poor job of laying the concrete floor. It wasn't level, it had high and low spots, it was uneven. It required a lot of correction. They poured a liquid concrete floor leveling compound. Once they had the floor corrected, they laid the engineered hardwood. Originally, we considered 3/8th sold hardwood but Rich advised on the engineered floor, the solid hardwood will sometimes take humidity and the planks might change. Once they got started laying the floor they went very fast. Working as a team, one cut the planks, a second spread adhesive and the third trim cut planks and laid the wood. Something I wasn't aware of is dumping rubbish fees. The Puente/Rose Hills landfill is closed. They have to take your old carpet to a transfer station instead of a dump. Dumping fees could be well over $!,000. Alexander might not be the least expensive but consider your floor is going to be there for 30 - 50years. You might as well get it done right.
