Conrado made templates of our counter and worked with us to make the slab we bought cover the entire countertop. The most amazing part is our bar counter top. The guys did a great job at matching up many of the colors and lines in the top piece as they flow to the side skirt of the countertop. It's also a round piece; you wouldn't even know it's a bunch of short flat pieces put together because it's so smooth and flows so well. Also, I'd like to point out that they are very good at minimizing seems, and whenever possible, placing the seams in inconspicuous places. Our counter looks like one gigantic solid piece of Quartzsite even though it's not. They did a phenomenal job and it looks amazing! I would highly recommend Blaze for any granite or quartzite fabrication work; and I'm keeping their number for any future work that might come up for ourselves, or anyone I come across who is looking for such work to be done.

The initial experience was good, as they responded quickly and gave me a bid to repair the floor upstairs in my townhome that has water damage. The quoted me a price and told me that the job would take 3-5 days. This is the text thread from David: Once you pay the deposit and purchase the materials, we'll contact you to schedule the installation. If everything is done by tomorrow, we can dispatch our team as early as the end of next week or the beginning of the week of July 21. The project itself will take about 3-5 days to finish, unless we need to do surface leveling (which requires drying time and is a separate charge, as noted in the disclaimer) I needed to buy the material on line from Floor and Decor, and then I got this text. Yes, our guys will pick up the materials from the F&D on the day of installation, will try to make it 7/21st. I arrived 10 days later. No one was working, my stairs were half covered with trash bags. This was my text: Just arrived. No one working. What is the status? We need to get this done. DAVID OKHOTIN: Let me check with the installers LifeSource Me: Stair coverage is terrible. Couch is dirty. Please call me DAVID OKHOTIN: I did not hear from the installer yet, I'll keep you posted, just fyi Me: I assume someone is showing up tomorrow David is the GM of the business. He apparently had no idea where the installer was or why he was not working. There was then back and forth regarding additional material...grout, screws. I was required get this ordered an paid. I was not informed of this until 10 days into the job. On Friday, I had this exchange: DAVID OKHOTIN: The estimated completion day is Monday Tuesday next week. They will try to do sooner but they although work slower but make it right. We don't pay them hourly rate but per project, the only requirement is to do a great installation Apparently, way way more time than usual took demolishing and prep (not finished as the floor needs leveling). They are encouraged to work faster but the priority is to make it right. I have specifically addressed the issues of making sure the stairs and the couch are completely covered and kept clean. Me: Has to be complete by Tuesday. Friday I arrived, and again, no one working. I got this response: The installers will come tonight after 4:30pm to work, and they will also work over the weekend. They committed to finish on Tuesday the latest Tuesday: Me: Please give me a status update DAVID OKHOTIN: Most of the tile installed, grouting and finishing up tomorrow morning Wednesday: Me: We are on schedule? We need to sleep in the room tonight DAVID OKHOTIN: Jonathan was to do grouting around 4:30-5pm, we will need few hrs for grout to dry up. After that we will assemble the bed back It's going to be late tonight Job was not completed. We were forced to get a hotel. Thursday: Me: Work supposed to start at noon...no one here DAVID OKHOTIN: He will be there No more response. Again we need to get a hotel. Installer did not show up until 5pm Thursday and worked into the night. Job was not complete. I was told installer needed to come back to finish a small portion. I told them he could not be there after 5pm. I got no response. Monday I got a text from installer that he wanted to finish the job. I said ok, and never got a notice of completion. Tuesday I get a call from a person named Rick. Hard to believe the experience could get worse, but it did. He told me he is the ex GM, an he is working with the owner to help with customer service. He then proceeded to tell me that the current GM is terrible, but there is nothing he can do about it because he is the owner's twin brother. He told me that there are many unhappy customer. He then had me confused with another customer and said I had asked for a $265 discount. I never had any such a discussion. I told him I was forced to stay in a hotel for 2 nights. He then got angry and that is not their problem and I should have gone back to stay at my main house (2 hours away). He was rude and arrogant. I arrived at my place on Thursday and all the trash from the job was in my front yard. I got a call from Rick this morning demanding payment. I am only spending this much time with this much detail to deter other people from using this company. I will be letting Floor and Decor know that they should not recommend CA Floors. I have done complete remodels of 4 homes, and this is the worst experience by a long shot.

Will suggested a sealer and is very knowledgeable about stone and the reaction to cleaners etc. He coated my shower floor and also cleaned my carpets. He is willing to come back if the 2 coats of sealer need more attention. I am impressed with his knowledge of tile and his fistedness at cleaning and care. Hopefully this coating will last a year but if not he will reseal the tile. The willingness to stand by his work is very important to me.

A few months back I came home to a flooded house. Apparently we had a slab leak and the damage…read moreruined the beautiful custom flooring and baseboards I had in my downstairs. After calling the flood crew and while having the house re-piped, I started calling around to find a flooring company who could help install all new flooring. Of all the contractors I called, Gabriel Herrera the owner of GH Luxury Floors was the first to answer and tell me he would help me. Not only did Gabe spend however much time I needed to explain things to me, he also came out late that same evening to look the job over. Within a couple of weeks he had ordered the same exact flooring (Thank God ) as we had before and that I still have throughout the upstairs of my house. I was very fortunate to find Gabriel. He promised me they wouldn't drag the job out and they didn't. His crew was also very punctual and polite and they always cleaned up after themselves after each days work so we could still move around our downstairs freely. Another thing that impressed me was how precise he and his crew were at putting every piece of furniture back exactly where it was before they cleared the room to install the flooring. As for the finished job, it looked better than it did originally. Everything lined up well with the flooring and the baseboards looked like one smooth piece of wood flowing through the downstairs. They remodeled my floors, demo'd some walls, did a full paint job, hardwired & installed new lighting, built new walls with custom shelving inside the walls, created arched doorways, installed wallpaper on the ceilings, built & tiled a custom desk, and so much more. My landlord wouldn't let us demo the floors, so Carlos came up with a creative solution of laying new flooring on top of the old so we didn't have to demo. Every obstacle that came up, the guys were able to work around it and still do all the things I wanted to do with the space. Carlos made great suggestions along the way and I felt confident trusting his judgement and took his recommendations on which flooring would look best, or paint colors, materials etc etc. I highly recommend using Mendi Custom Builders if you need any remodeling work done. I am very embarrassed that I have to write this review which could have been prevented if I did…read moremore work screening a contractor. Let me explain. I researched contractors on Yelp and found one that I wanted to hire. I clicked the button to request a consultation and Carlos called me right away. He had good sales skills and offered to come to look at my bathroom remodel project the same day. It turns out that when I submitted a request for a consultation it went to many businesses, not only the one that I was interested in. I finally realized that this was a different business. I looked at William S' review and decided to give them a chance. The business started in January 2022, yet the review that I read stated that they had two bathrooms, a gigantic kitchen, a brand new ADU unit, and 7 televisions in the course of the 3 months since the contractors license was obtained. I later found out that William S is a Mendi Builders employee and that it is a fake review. But I took the bait. I was desperate to get the bathrooms working and planned to be out of town for a week. Despite the vague and expensive proposal Carlos created, I gave him money to begin our project because of his availability and promise to work while I was out of town. In retrospect this was such a bad idea. The very first day that the team came to demo the home they forgot to cap the water underneath the vanity. They left water dripping on a Friday night and had no plans to return until Monday. Fortunately, my son came home and heard the dripping and stopped the leak and bailed out the bathroom. From that day forward every single thing that they touched was a disaster. Broken Tile: I had some special tile installed by an old friend who is no longer working that I asked him to protect. He destroyed that tile and did not alert me or attempt to repair it, instead he tried to conceal it. Plumbing: He changed a plumbing valve and left a huge glob of some sort of wax inside the pipe which was only discovered by the plumber that I had to hire to redo all of Carlos' work. In addition, they were so sloppy that they punched a hole in the wall behind the shower and into my family room. Mess Containment: Construction is always messy and Carlos promised to use plastic sheeting to contain the mess when doing drywall work. Instead of protecting my home, his team took a huge fan out of my garage and blew the construction debris into my family room and garage. This bathroom contained an exterior wall and Mendi employees started installing the drywall without adding insulation to the wall. In addition the workers made no attempt whatsoever to clean up any of their messes and left debris on my roof, throughout my home and garage, and even threw their drink containers in my garden. Their employee drove over a retaining wall and left it down in my driveway. Safety: Mendi removed two toilets there was no attempt to seal off the septic system and the home reeked of sewage. Sewage gasses are not only disgusting, they are dangerous. Mendi switched out a bedroom fan and did not clean up any of the debris. They let a bowl full of screws fall 8 feet down onto the new flooring in my son's room, which he stepped on. They also turned off all circuit breakers in the home and failed to turn all of them back on, so when I returned from my trip there was only one functioning toilet in the home, but the bathroom had no electricity for two days. When I fired Mendi I incurred many expenses and it cost me thousands of dollars to repair the damage they caused. It is hard for me to believe that Mendi was able to obtain a contractor's license. The amateur staff was unsupervised and clearly did not follow best practices of the trade.
