I don't usually write reviews. There's a list of reasons for my review and rating 1. Elisa offered to do my hair and I sent her pictures of my current hair and what I wanted(balayage)... gave me an estimate of $150 and I thought, "oh $150 plus the first time customer discount at 20% awesome! I'll drop by" 2. I was telling Elisa about my hair history. (I've been dying my hair for over a year I have a pretty good understanding of the procedure and products) and she assured me that she can get my hair to how I wanted in the picture. 3. I STRESSED that I did not want any brassiness in my hair and I wanted a cool toned brown and she can take her time toning my hair into that icy brown. She obliged and said she was able to do that for me. 4. She bleached my hair with foils like I am accustomed to and I just waited for her to give me the results I wanted. However, once she gave me a shampoo and toned my hair and I came back in front of the mirror, I was horrified. My hair was two toned with the top of my head brassy and tinted yellow and the ends of my hair still silver from what I had originally. 5. I didn't want to say anything because I was sure Elisa had tried her best. But was it okay guaranteeing me results when they had not been delivered? 6. She then charged me $245. $245??? I recall that my estimate had been $150 but she started adding additional costs and said I had a lot of hair, my hair was too long, my hair is asian, blah blah. She didn't even give me a 20% discount, saying that the discount wasn't valid for her even when the yelp page for the salon clearly stated that there would be a discount. I contacted the owner, Melanie, as well and she was just as unhelpful. No excuses. You should have calculated the final price for me before you started to work on my hair. But I still gave Elisa $20 in tip because I'm sure she tried her best? 7. I went home and was horrified again. My hair was not a smooth blendable balayage. It was chunky in color and half dark brown and suddenly changing to blonde(in pictures) 8. I had to waste my time coming in again for her to rebleach my hair. Even then, I didn't achieve the cool toned brown I wanted. I have never wasted $245 like this before. I was tired of Melanie standing over me when I was getting my hair done and going on about how "We can't do your hair like Kim Kardashians hair when we only charge $245 and her stylists are paid $5000" oh okay lol but what even?? read more

The quality here is great. I must say that trying to make an appointment is almost impossible. No return phone call. I even went there physically and could not make appointment, as there was no one at the reception. One stylist was kind enough to guide me. So the stylists are by far among the best. Since moving to Ventura County over 10 years ago I hadn't yet found a specific hair stylist I liked. I'd usually just "walk in" to a place with rotating staff and see whoever was available. Finally, I got a recommendation from a friend who goes to Mary here at Pacific Breeze Salon and I'm very happy I booked an appointment with her myself. I've been to her twice now and she's very nice to work with, and has a knack for getting my hair soft and silky in a way no one else seems to be able to. Even me... but we're working on that and I'm hopeful she will be able to find something I can do at home to recreate her results. She's given me little samples of some of the products she's used with me, so I can try them at home and see how they work for me there. She's also good about reminding me of my next appointment about a week before, so I don't forget. I'd definitely recommend her work. I just get basic treatments, nothing special, but my hair is very difficult to work with and resists almost all efforts to tame it. So it's a big deal to me when someone can work with it successfully! read more

I just can't emphasize enough how good Kaity is!!!! She's MAGIC On a different note, Paula Babiera is as good at eyebrows as she is sweet! At the same time that I totally mentioned this in my initial review here. I was also not crazy about the location of the salon. Even through I was new to both the stylist and salon. Especially, when able in right away. That also goes for the prices. But end still didn't totally comfortable with both the stylist and salon going toward. In which I would much rather go to both a stylist and that know what's its/they are doing. Even if I have pay more for beyond it/both/all of them. In which better location. That also goes for if it's has to call me back and/or assembly line feel to it. read more

Updating my review for COVID times -- I came here to see Elisa and can't say enough good things. Elisa as always did an excellent job cutting my curly/wavy hair. I felt very safe in terms of their COVID safety protocols -- outdoor waiting room, temperature checks, health questionnaire, etc. Everyone wore masks at all times and I was the only client inside the salon. I had put off a haircut for awhile due to COVID anxieties but those worries were eased as soon as I arrived and saw how carefully they were operating. Thanks for a great experience! read more

I am so thrilled to finally find a hair dresser that understands curly hair and knows how to work with it. I tried so many hair stylists who repeatedly layered my hair all over and would not listen when I said that makes me look like a poodle because I am not good at blowing drying every drop of moisture from my hair. Mojdeh was a miracle worker as she figured out how to work around previous bad haircuts that were in the process of growing out-including uneven layers and hair missing in places. She gave me a style that I can wear either styled or just wash n wear with some leave in conditioner put in-and both ways look cute. My hair feels healthy and it just all makes sense now and is so easy for me to deal with. She was able to get me an appointment the same day with Elisa. Elisa was great! She took my example photos and ran with it, creating something even better (and saved my hair from major processing.) Today, I had the pleasure of having my hair cut and styled by Elisa. Since I have very wavy, curly thick hair, I was so happy to have Elisa expertly look at my hair and advise me to what would be healthy for my hair as well as what cut would work well with my hair type. Besides giving me an updated and very natural looking haircut which I love, I thoroughly appreciated the care Elisa took with making sure that my curls on both sides of my head looked balanced and equally "full," all the while being warm and friendly in her conversation during my haircut. I got a haircut here in the middle of the pandemic and also managed to donate my hair after. Lori was amazing. I had over 17 inches of hair. I was to donate about 12-15. Lori made sure the hair was in good shape to be donated. I wanted to go really short and she was checking in with me at every stage, just to make sure she hadn't gone too short and I was the one that said keep going. They are extra careful about Covid 19 and lots of sanitization as well as social distancing going on. Lori also has a certification for following the right sanitization procedures. Definitely coming back, once my hair grows out a bit. read more

Jill Toma deserves a rave review! Jill has been doing my Brazilian Blow Outs for at least 8 years. I have kinky, frizzy hair and when Jill is done, my hair is smooth, soft to the touch and beautifully conditioned. I am addicted. I moved away from Ventura county 3 years ago and tried to find someone locally for Brazilian blow outs and it was a waste of money. I now get up at 3 a.m. to drive over and have Jill do my hair. I will not go to anyone else. I am now moving to Idaho and when I come back to the area I will schedule ahead and have Jill do my hair. She takes her time, she is meticulous and I always enjoy spending time with her! Not only does she do amazing Brazilians, she also does a beautiful haircut and always straightens out the last cut I received. Kaity Kennaley not only did a great job on my cut, but she helped me work on making my hair healthier. My hair was breaking in my hands, falling out and had lost all of the natural curl. Of course I would tip her. I stated I was satisifed because it looked fine at the salon. I don't appreacite Melodi the owner commenting on my review. And on top of it, I find it highly unprofessional to state quantities I have paid her staff. There is no need. If your service had been more pleasant and if Melodi had handled this with professionalism and respect, I would not have written a bad review to begin with. The highlights look gorgeous, all nice and blonde without looking fake or brassy. MICHELLE did them! I've gotten my hair cut here also and the stylist did just what I asked her too! I love my length and she kept it as long as she could for me, which was great. Go here! They're wonderful! I heard about this salon while promoting my own business and since I have only been in the Conejo Valley for about 5 months, I am always happy to try a new salon in search for my future hairstylist. And my 5 month old haircut needed some help. I called and made a same day appointment with Simmy. When I got there I had to wait but I understand since I was essentially a walk in. Once I was washed and ready to go, I told Simmy what I tell all of my potential future stylist: Just give me a good cut, I like layers, I want a style and it is in your hands. Simmy gave me a wonderful cut. I still love it and it was about 2 weeks ago. The charge was $75 which was more than I expected. But I got an amazing haircut and this is definitely worth it.
