Let me just say I had multiple of electric issues !!! Brake light on wouldn't go off . My dome light would not go off for nothing in the world !!! Every time I turn on my headlights the chime would just ring & ring until I turned them off. Omggggggggggggg you guys , do y'all know how irro that is !!! His communication is terrible I've had to keep calling and pull up to his shop because he don't answer or return calls . I payed him $1100 to replace my radio, within that same mouth it went out so I brought my car back so he can fix it he put another one in and did the same thing within a month or two also the part he put in had features that my car doesn't have and I told him that and he down played that. I'm here again and he's not trying fix it . I came in on Tuesday we made a verbal agreement that I drop off my car on Thursday between the hour of 10-11am and now he's not trying to do the work on my car .... First of all, let me say that I write this merely as a warning. I do not hold a grudge against Rudy or Pacific Auto Electric, but I will never use their services again. Further more, I now warn everyone I know away. To all the other positive reviewers, I can only speak from my experience, and I respect yours. That being said, the spectacular and COSTLY failure of the Pacific Auto team with my car was abysmal, showed complete inability to even diagnose the problem. I brought my 2012 Ford Focus in, which was having issues starting up. It now has the EXACT same issue, no change whatsoever, months later and round after round of wasted, thoughtless work by Rudy et al. I had always assumed it was the starter, as I have had to replace them several times. Rudy and every other mechanic I could find argued it. It wasn't until the 3RD ROUND of repairs he finally diagnosed it properly, and replaced the starter. Apparently, there is also ongoing electrical issues FRYING the starter, which Rudy and his team completely missed. All told, we spent nearly $1000 on repairs (and supporting new battery) at Pacific Auto Electric. PLUS another $500+ in tows, jumps, etc OVER my AAA for the year! Let me repeat: My 2012 Ford Focus is in EXACTLY the same state as when I brought it in. Rudy did give a warranty, and was nice enough to get his henchman to give me a jump after my car broke down AGAIN. This time, I had a parking ticket in hand due to my car dying. When I pulled off the road, it wouldn't start again, and I was stuck at a Red Zone! Parking enforcement wouldn't listen to reason, when all the parked drivers behind me pulled out, seeing them coming. (Fighting that, we'll see.) But, standing there with Rudy at Pacific Auto, already pissed off at their proven ineptness, I began to question things. This was the FOURTH ROUND of diagnosis, at least. Just that I had been present for! Almost 2 weeks in total they had my car in the shop, combining all visits. So, standing there again in the exact same spot, watching them literally scratch their heads, and hearing their blatantly disrespectful tones complaining about me bringing inoperable car back in, it was almost enough to make me take my car and leave. Then, the unthinkable! Rudy began to explain that any repairs would be OFF WARRANTY!!! Since I have almost 2 MONTHS left on the warranty, written by his own hand, this was disturbing to say the least. It was also the straw that broke the pissed-off proverbial camel's back. While I was peeling out in front of Pacific Auto Electric that last time, I knew that I would NEVER again use any non-dealer, non-referred Electrical Specialist to work on my vehicles again. Now, with my car waiting to be dropped off at the Ford Dealership tomorrow, I am forced to suck it up on the $1000 Rudy and his team ripped out of my wallet. Let me remind you, this was for no service of any value. My advice is simple. If you have an electrical problem, a real gremlin sort of problem, don't make the mistake I did! GO STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP OR LICENSED SPECIALIST FOR YOUR VEHICLE. Any work Rudy does will be purely general, and won't catch any specific flaws or issues in specific models. They probably are great as standard mechanics, but I'll never know. BUYER BEWARE!!! I will follow up if the dealership discovers any scam in their investigation, which I feel is actually very likely. I am not a mechanic but, I can do some things on my own. I took my car to Pacific Auto and dropped it off to Rudy. The price was fair, the turnaround time was fair, he was professional answering the phone and in his presentation. Owner was very kind so I added an extra star BUT I took my Audi in for a clockspring replacement and was given the car back with -new- service lights on (initially just had an airbag light, no horn or button functionality, came out with steering wheel light AND esc light on - horn working still no button functionality). So I don't do this unless someone has went too far and he has, Rudy Diaz was very rude unprofessional and dismissed everything that I said this is a short video showing what I went through with this gentleman and prior to that he lied on my car guy and stated he attacked him when he simply asked him for the work to be done that had a three month warranty or for the money returned so we could go elsewhere and get the cam sensor put on he has denied the cam sensor even being bad and continue to speak on the starter and other things regarding the vehicle but the main issue we had was the cam sensor he was supposed to have the place all of the sensors on the vehicle making sure it was operable and ready for smog etc he refused to do the work, also because I'm a female and I am a lesbian he didn't give me the same respect he gave my male car guy he dismissed me and basically said he will not do the work for me either and I had to come up here to his location with my car guy or he wouldn't service me because he said that I didn't pay for the work to be done even though it is my car he lied and as you can see in the video the police are there that was because he told them that he was attacked they suggested that we take him to court but again $1,000 job and the work was not complete and my car is still having issues so with that said I am letting everyone know do not go to this location if you do not want to get played out of your money and be disrespected if you're a female and not a male because if you are he will not do the same work for you he is sexist! Again I have the receipt of the work that he was supposed to complete and we have a three month warranty on it from his establishment that he will not honor nor recognize and I've already been back to his place since March 12th when the work was supposed to be complete I've been there at least five times with no other work done to complete the job! My VW Passat check engine light came on sometime last summer, I searched on the internet for a shop that would provide a full free engine diagnostic, Pacfic auto came up in the search bar and I made an appointment. Not only was Rudy kind enough to recommend I do one repair at a time, the price he quoted me was more than I actually ended up paying. I took my Jeep to Rudy at Pacific Auto Electric to fix a strange problem that another mechanic could not figure out. My battery was draining somehow leaving my car completely dead. I was expecting this problem to to cost me a lot of time, money and headaches, but Rudy was able to diagnose the problem quickly and repair it at a very reasonable cost. As a single woman who knows nothing about cars, sometimes it is very intimidating to deal with mechanics and auto shops for fear that they will take advantage of my ignorance. But Rudy was a genuine pleasure to work with - he explained the problem and how he fixed it, and even fixed a gear shift problem for no extra charge, and washed and waxed my car before I picked it up. He made sure a thorough job was done and cleaned out all my air filters as well, I had a post it note in the air filter which was hilarious. He charged me a very fair price, considering other places charge me an upward of $100. He also offered to resurface my worn head lamps for a great price. I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix that I really like. I give it good maintnence. In this time I was going to pass the smog test.The car was running but the engine light was on so I decided to take it to the mechanic. I went to Pacific Auto Electric and the man told me to leave it there for diagnostic, so I left it. I called him about a day later and he told me he was going to charge me $1400. I went directly to his shop and I asked him if the car was going to be running good and if the code will go away. He respond and said yes it would be running very good. So I paid him at that moment $1400 in cash up front. He said he would call me when the car was ready. I went home. I didn't hear from him so I just went to check and see if the car was ready. I cranked the car and the code was gone. I asked him if the car was fixed. He said, you can take it right now but we still have to talk. Right when I was taking the car home the engine light turned back on. I called him and he said to take it back to him. Again he said he was going to call me when it was ready. This time he called me and said that the car was ready so I went to pick it up. Upon arrival he boasts about how he washed the car for me, I didn't ask him to do that. It had nothing to do with the work that needed to be done. But I figure oh well. He tells me to go to a specific smog check place because they would help me pass the smog test and gives me the address. I asked him, But the car is running properly right? And he said yes. I took the car to the place and they said that the car needed repairs. I went back to the mechanic and he said to leave it at his shop and he'd call me when it's ready. He took a long time to call me. Finally he called me to pick up the car. My wife went with me in another car to pick up the car from the shop. As she was following me in the car we came in. She calls me and tells me, the car is leaking something. It looks like oil. So I stopped. When I went to take a look the car was overheated. I opened the hood and checked the oil, it was empty. I called the mechanic. It took about an hour for him to call me back. He said he was going to send a mechanic which he did. When the mechanic arrived he checked and found out that the oil filter was missing. He at that moment installed the oil filter and filled up the engine with oil. I went home. The check engine light came back on again. The next day I called the mechanic and he said to bring the car, so I did. He said he was going to call me when it was ready but I never heard from him. I finally decided to go to his shop and he said he was not going to fix the car, he can't do nothing for it. I told him I needed the car but he ignored me, so I came home and decided to call the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. The CBAR told me to wait until they do the investigation. During the waiting time the mechanic called me and said "I am a good person. You should not have done that. You should have talked to me. " I went to the shop and he told me "you are stupid. You shouldn't have done what you done. You should have talked to me. ". I responded, "but you told me you weren't going to fix it anymore". And then he told me "Now you're going to lose everything. You're going to lose your car and your going to have to pay me for the time that the car was here". About a week later. I received a letter stating that there is a lien on my car and if I wanted it back I have to pay $5,000. I called back CBAR and told them that he wanted to take away my car. They told me, wait 10 minutes and I'll call you back. They didn't call me but the mechanic called me and he said to me, "I'll give you half an hour to pick up the car. If you don't you will not get it". So I went running to pick it up. When I picked it up and drove the car, the car was making terrible noises like it was going to fall apart. Based on CBAR's advice I took it to another mechanic to see what's going on with the car. The second mechanic told me that the bolts for the power steering rack and pinion assembly (used to turn the car) was loose and other bolts that hold the engine. It's kind of difficult to believe that something like that was going on with the car because not long before I took it to the first mechanic, I took it to get an alignment. I found out that the mechanic installed two used top motor mounts which are really easy to install, i could have done that myself. I didn't tell him to do that and what it really needed was the engine code to be taken care of. In the end I lost $1400 plus $250 for the second mechanic. Not only that I was insulted, threatened and harassed. I would not recommend anyone to go to this shop. Nobody deserves to experiance what I went through. I trusted that he was an honest, intelligent person with mechanical skills. What I found out directly form talking to one of the mechanics there is that one of them is not even a CA licensed mechanic. He might be able to do mickey mouse work so be aware. read more

Fantastic. I am one happy camper. During the winter our 2010 JGC got a case of the interior water leaks due to plugged drains for the moon roof. The leaks caused major electrical problems with things just starting to stop working from the driver's door controls one by one. Examples: The fob didn't work. The window/side mirror controls weren't. (The driver's window wouldn't go down gggrrr). The chimes for leaving the lights on when you turned the car off didn't chime. The radio didn't turn off when the car was turned off. If you closed the passenger's door (auto door lock still worked on the door) sometimes the car would start like it does when you auto start it with the fob. Let's just say things worked, but they didn't work. I had two other repair facilities look at it. They checked all the obvious things (fuses, etc.) and narrowed it down to one of the many electrical modules on the jeep but were unable to offer further assistance. Stopped in and had Rudy and PAE run a diagnostic's test which showed several of the modules were bad. Scheduled an appointment for repairs and dropped it off Monday and got it back yesterday. Everything worked. Ta Da! Rudy was easy to work with and even got a quick wash-n-vac. Thx again. read more

I just got my car back from Rudy and staff, and have only rave reviews to share. My Lexus (2000) had an electrical problem that was not easily diagnosed. Not only did Rudy figure it out, but the turnaround time and cost of the repair were more than reasonable (I have a family member who is a mechanic and he confirmed that Rudy gave me a great deal). They also pointed out another problem, which wasn't immediate but will be something to watch out for. Plus, they washed and vacuumed my car as a courtesy! For the last 3 years I have been dealing with a mysterious electrical car issue that my mechanic could not figure out. He tried countless things but was never able to pin point the real issue. My partner and I took our 94 Chevy G20 to Rudy at Pacific Auto Electric and were VERY satisfied. On top of fixing our back RV electronics and making everything work great, he also managed to fix our horn which was not working without even charging us for it, which was such a nice surprise because we felt it was a safety concern but simply could not afford to add anything else to the bill. Rudy gave a fair price and topped it off with the last thing we had our heart set on, a working horn! Rudy was nice, patient, professional and I think he really knows his work and does it well...as the other customers had smiles on their faces just as we did. Rudy Does It Again! I took my car there for work (again) because my engine fan wasn't working, my enigine was smoking and I heard something hissing. The thing I love about Rudy is when he changes something or fixes something he goes into detail about how it works, why it needed fixing and how to prevent it from happening agian. I came out to my 1986 Toyota truck a couple of weeks ago and the door was ajar, club was off, and ignition was on... The ONLY thing that saved it from being gone gone gone was the Kill Switch Rudy installed last year. I finally got around to stopping by and thanking him today. No kill switch = no truck. I was in need of electrical repairs on my 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, after reading all the wonderful 5 star reviews about PACIFIC AUTO ELECTRIC I decided to have my jeep towed in with the hope that I would receive 5 star service as well. I was quoted $75.00 to diagnose the problem; Rudy(OWNER) stated he would call me between Noon and 1pm on the following day. I never received a call so I called Rudy around 4:30pm and asked about the Jeep, Rudy explained the issue and said the repair would be around $1,700 or $1,800 to fix. I asked why did he quote such a high price and he explained that it was very large amount of labor and that $1,700 or $1,800 was just an estimate because he did not know what he would find during the repair. The price didnt sit well with me and I removed my Jeep the next day. I took my Jeep to a different auto electric shop in Hayward, Ca and was quoted a price of $800 to $1,000. The lesson here is.... DONT LET THE 5 stars FOOL YOU!!! STAY AWAY FROM PACIFIC AUTO ELECTRIC..... RUDY IS NOT A VERY HONEST BUSINESS MAN!!! read more
