I then unfortunately had to go to Vegas for a bachelorette party, and they no longer had time for me, and let me know they also didn't have time for other brides, but let me know my date was still open for them, and they could do it day of... my mom as Worried about no trial, and so was I with the experiences I had, however they contacted me again to let me know someone had requested my date. Without a trial I couldn't do this for my day of... its been a complete nightmare trying to find someone good, let alone professional enough for the price everyone is asking... they are not only reasonable with pricing, trust me all those perks sound amazing from anything else I've seen... but they have the most amazing customer service around... trust me I've been around... I feel any bride will be lucky to use them, and I know they will do a phenomenal job in making you feel like a bride, and they also show you the utmost attention, like a bride should have their day of, and that is how I felt they did the entire way through! With myself being someone who doesn't usually wear a lot of makeup, I wanted my makeup to look natural and flawless. So we checked out many different artists, but after reading reviews and having our makeup and hair trial with Aileen and Julianna, we were sold. Everything we heard and read about their services from others is exactly what we received and more! The Luxe team made us feel comfortable and they were so organized, professional, friendly, and talented! We had 12 women in our wedding party + 2 of us (brides) who had got done up. Aileen, Julianna, Maria, and Jasmine arrived early, were so patient, a delight to work with, and finished on time when they said they would. They had such a great setup from prep to finish that everyone was impressed with their work. There are no words to express how wonderful and beautiful we felt (and hoped to feel) on our wedding day. Everyone looked amazing and we were especially so happy, being the brides, with how our own makeup and hair turned out and how long everything stayed! We didn't even have to do any touchups the entire day. We received endless compliments from our family and friends. Jesseca quickly responded to me. Despite having other family functions on Saturday, she was able to squeeze me in. She only takes appointments and she has a cute litle studio. She sent me reminders prior, which I appreciated. Jesseca has a great outgoing personality. It made me immediately comfortable with her. She was able to work with my skin shade and skin type. Jesseca was quite knowledgeable and I love how she explained the whole process. The makeup wasn't overdone and she did an amazing job of making me feel fabulous! She also tried out lashes, which I wasn't a big fan of so she added a few at the end of my eyes to make them pop. The photography shoot was outdoors in on and off sprinkles of rain. I knew I would be super stressed trying to do it myself, even though I had a small and fairly casual wedding, therefore, it was the one thing I was willing to splurge on. So I chose Hanna based on 1) the pictures of women here and on her site looked like actual, lovely women and not weird dolls and 2) 5-star reviews. My experience: My wedding was plagued with rather insensitive visiting in laws (example, showed up two hour late for our wedding breakfast, and then "joking" that I was rude for running out the door to get my nails done. Also texted us at 8:00 am the day AFTER our wedding - ummm, honeymoon anyone? to find out where we were going to meet them for breakfast...anyway). So unexpectedly, I was a bit stressed and a few minutes late coming back for my make up appointment by the time Hanna arrived (SHE was exactly on time). I had e-mailed some ideas to her previously and all of our communications were pleasant and prompt. But in person was even nicer. Instantly in her presence on that stupid stressful day I started to relax, she was calm, smiling and ready to work. Even though I made us start late (so sorry!!) she didn't give me any grief for it and got it all done on time. I needed that so much. And she's just a nice person. She kept chatting in a soft voice to my curls while she was pinning them up..."Okay curl, you tell me how you would like to sit, okay, like that? Oh you look nice now"...it was crazy soothing. In the end, I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup that I really should have taken some cards for her to hand out to the crowd. But most importantly, my groom, who always sees me sans makeup, really loved it. The look stayed put all night and the best part was that when I finally unpinned my hair, she had done something that made it look cute down too - so bonus, two more days of wedding hair awesomeness before I washed it out! The only thing I would have done differently would be to spring for the trial run, so that the day of my wedding I would have been excitedly anticipating the look, instead of being kind of worried it would be weird (it was so not weird!).

I hired 2 makeup/hair stylists and realized maybe I need one more. It is so close to the wedding that I knew it may not happen but Hanna worked her magic and got us a 3rd person. The day-of, our artists arrived late (challenging, given everything is on a tight timeline with weddings) and one of them immediately dropped and broke a mirror. Thankfully I'm not superstitious but it was a weird way to start my wedding day. I had sent a schedule the day before, but the artists kept asking me who was up next - I didn't expect to be in charge of the schedule or to keep track of the logistics. We all had to have parts of our hair & makeup redone because it didn't look good/wasn't what we asked for. I know that hair and makeup is very personal so there's bound to be changes, but there were too many corrections to be made when the styles and requests were simple and straightforward (Ie. curled front pieces, a low bun, small winged eyeliner). I had also sent a detailed follow-up after my trial, but felt like I was starting over with my artist, which made the (expensive) trial feel like it wasn't worth it. Overall, I expected more from a luxury service and for what we paid for it.

I told her early on that I prefer a very natural look and don't feel comfortable in heavy makeup -- and she absolutely delivered. My makeup felt light, effortless, and still completely me... just elevated. It was more beautiful than my daily look, but never overdone. I especially loved what she did with my eyes and lashes. They looked soft and natural, yet defined and stunning in photos. And my hair -- this was huge for me. I don't have a lot of hair and I didn't want to wear a wig on my wedding day. She respected that completely and somehow created beautiful, natural-looking volume that made me feel confident and radiant. I was honestly amazed at what she was able to do. This is a review purely for the bridal hair and makeup trial, have no experience with her in an…read moreactual wedding setting. The main reason I did not go forward with booking with her was because of the haphazard nature of the hair part of the trial. Vian did not part my hair, comb my hair, or use hairspray, and just draped the headpiece on instead of tying it to the hair. She told me the trial is to only get an "idea" of what the hair would look like and made me undo the hairstyle after getting pics so she could get the hair piece and pins back. I was pretty stunned because I paid almost double to include hair in the trial rather than just makeup, so I was expecting to get more than just an "idea", I wanted to see how the hairstyle would stay throughout the day. The end result was messy hair (attached a photo) and my sister who was watching commented after that she could have done a better job. In addition, Vian told me I needed to get a haircut for curtain bangs before the wedding in order for the hairstyle to work. This felt like an excuse, I'd expect her to work with the hair I have and make the best hairstyle possible, not fault me for it not looking good. Afterwards I had a hair and makeup trial with a different artist for the exact same price. At this one, I got a full hairstyle with combing, hairspray, pins that stayed on for the full day and I wasn't told that I needed to cut my hair, and it looked much better. I ended up proceeding with booking this person for the wedding instead. For the makeup, later that day I noticed that there was a smudge on my eyebrow. I checked photos and it was there in the very first photo my sister took of me after the trial was completed. I was surprised Vian didn't notice and fix this and this made me question her makeup skills as well. Style wise the makeup didn't match what I had on my Pinterest board that I showed her -- those had softer, lighter colors but I was given a darker, higher contrast look. To be fair, she asked what lip color I wanted and I told her she could choose because I didn't know (not experienced with makeup). However, the second makeup artist was so much more thorough -- she looked through my Pinterest board and asked things like, "these are all warm toned but this one is cool toned -- do you want warm or cool toned" and was able to distinguish what I liked from that, and I ended up with a look I was much happier with. Perhaps Vian would work better for someone who has a strong idea of what they're looking for, versus someone completely new to makeup (me).
