A hidden gem in Osage Beach. Like, literally hidden because every window has a local advertisement covering it! I'd definitely driven by had I not done my research prior to coming on vacation. I am here to tell you that Pablito's Taqueria, though it lives in an unsuspecting strip mall, has something for everyone. Parking is a non-issue. Pricing is on point, and dare I say 'cheap' compared to other restaurants in the area? There's a lot of seating options and Pablito's can definitely accommodate any size of group. We stopped in on a rainy Thursday evening, having just gotten into town. The chips and salsa were pretty good-- the salsa was a bit tomato-heavy for my taste. Where as the guacamole was a phenomenal. I will definitely be trying the chunky guac the next time I am in town. Margs were on happy hour ($1 off) on Thursday evenings-- I thought mine was great! I ordered the green chili enchiladas with a cheese sauce as well as rice and beans. Other folks in my party ordered a burrito and tacos... we ALL left satisfied. (Though I will say, DANNNNG. We came in with a group of 8 and got seated right away. I'm not sure if they were short staffed or just were really busy (we couldn't see into the other room). It took a few minutes for them to get us drinks and chips. Some of us had more patience than others. But once we ordered, it was worth the wait. I absolutely judge a Mexican restaurant on their chips and salsa--the salsa was perfectly balanced and the chips were thin and crispy. All the members in our party commented on the chips and salsa. The lunch portions were perfect. My husband and I both ordered enchiladas, and they were delicious! He says the ground beef one was better than the shredded chicken. We love Pablitos but our visit on July 6th was very disappointing. The street tacos were so tough and stringy, they were inedible. My wife's taco salad consisted of about 3 tablespoons of some sort of dry ground meat and a little bit of lettuce. No cheese or tomatoes to be found. We asked for some cheese to add to the ground meat but never received. Not trying to be negative and we don't usually complain, but this trip to Pablitos was terrible. read more

Great hot sauce, nice and spicy. Tamales and Tacos were very good. Ceviche nachos were very good as well.

Salsa was watery and had too much garlic and salt. I asked if they had anything hotter and waitress brought me a small bowl. BTW they charged me $2.00 for it and it was horrible. We ordered the Pablito Combination assuming something named after the restaurant would be their specialty. Steak was bland had no seasoning what so ever and the Chile poblano was like warm and coating tasted like fish so they used the same oil to fry the peppers that they fry their fish in. Yuck! Nice local Mexican food place that does take out and dine in. There are several tables and booths so eating in is totally doable. They have a thorough menu with plenty of your favorites. I tried the Lunch Tamal which was a pork tamale covered with cheese sauce and for some reason ground beef. Not very traditional, as far as I know. The sauce and ground beef kinda took away from the taste of the tamale which was well made. Wife had chorizo with eggs. She said it was ok. It's still worth checking out. The basics like refried beans, rice, chips and salsa are good. We'll go back and try some other meat dishes. read more

First time at Pablito's Taqueria, overall a decent experience. I ordered the tacos plomazo- pastor per the waitress recommendation. She said the pork was much more flavorful than the beef. The service is fast, personable and efficient and the food, especially the Chile relleno, was extraordinary. Try the pricey but worth every penny fresh, chopped guacamole, it's divine. First time visiting: staff was friendly, establishment was clean, tacos were amazing- they were excellently cooked and very flavorful, tamal was over cooked but still had a good flavor (minus the burnt part across the whole underneath), shrimp enchilada was not great but not terrible (will skip this next time), salsa was outstanding, chicken nachos were delicious, sweet tea was great! Second time: tacos were amazing like the time before, but eating out versus dining in: the sauce they serve at the table makes the tacos sublime, without the sauce they were still good, just not over the top for me! The salsa this time was not great, tasted like tomato sauce- so maybe it's just hit and miss with the salsa! Overall, this was a yummy place. Clean environment and friendly staff. Two years ago my friends and I stumbled across Pablito's during our annual girl's weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks. And it was FANTASTIC - the best fish and shrimp tacos I had ever had. So you can imagine how excited I was to be going back there this year, after missing last year's girl's weekend due to the pandemic. first of all, I know a lot of restaurants have suffered during the pandemic, and I know there continue to be supply challenges for many of them. But that wasn't the case with this visit. Unfortunately, the food (at least, my food) was just terrible. My mouth was watering to get more of those fish tacos I had had two years ago. But wait - they are no longer on the menu. WHAT??? Honestly, I almost teared up over that news. Okay, moving on. How about the shrimp tacos? Yes, still on the menu, but now the shrimp are grilled not fried. I ordered them anyway. And wow. What a disappointing plate of food that was. The shrimp might have been grilled at some point, but not before hitting my plate. The shrimp "tacos" consisted of a bare handful of shredded lettuce and about 4 shrimp per taco on a limp, not too fresh soft taco. No pico de gallo, no avocado, no crema, nothing. Just lettuce and cold shrimp. Not very tasty. And the rice had no flavor. How do you even make Mexican rice with no flavor? But there you had it. Cold, flavorless rice paired with cold, flavorless shrimp tacos. So the shrimp tacos were a bust. But a friend was nice enough to let me try the taco al pastor, and it was very tasty. So this is a case of knowing what the restaurant does well and sticking to ordering that. Oh, and the mango margaritas were still pretty darned good. Just don't order the shrimp tacos. read more

Found this gem when looking for a place to eat visiting Osage Beach and omg we will be going back. Seriously some of the best authentic Mexican food I've had in years. I didn't take a picture but I also got the asade fries (steak pieces, beans, and guacamole on fries) and it was heaven in my mouth. It's super cheap too which is always a perk! read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but oh man, don't sleep on this place! This has to be some of the best Mexican food in the Lake of the Ozarks area! I came with a group of friends on a Wednesday evening around 7pm and we were seated right away. Our waitress was kind and checked on us often enough. The chips and salsa were magnificent. We each ordered something completely different (one pork dish, two different steak dishes and one chicken dish) and everything was amazing!! We all tried each other's and it was all so so good. Come here often. Crazy enough we are doing keto so we bring pork rinds to eat with cheese dip. Have done it many times in the past. Tonight the waitress decided to make a big deal out of the fact we are bringing in outside food. It's chips for goodness sake, we ordered an 8.00 cheese dip to go with it. Everyone at our table ordered a drink and an entree. We come here even though it's slow, the food's good. But it only takes one snippy server to set the tone for a place. Great new small restaurant at the Lake. They immediately seat you and deliver chips and salsa to you. The salsa is not to spicy and of the smooth consistency. We ordered cheese dip for the chips and it was delicious. We also ordered a side of guacamole dip and it was chunky and a little bit lacking for salt. My wife ordered a chicken burrito what she loved. I ordered shrimp filled enchiladas covered in cheese which were accompanied by beans and rice. I had never had this entree before at any Mexican restaurant and it was very very tasty and well prepared. The owner said they had only been open a month and we're still getting their feet with with everything. Unfortunately they did not have any desserts at this time. Excellent new Mexican restaurant in Osage Beach. Legit Mexican food, fully authentic and absolutely deelish. Customer service is friendly, fast and they have alcohol. We've have fajitas twice and both times they were awesome. My wife is obsessed by the chili rellenos and wanted me to let folks know that the tomato salsa they cover them with, is the real deal. We stopped in for lunch midweek a couple of weeks ago. They were pretty busy, but the place is pretty big so there was plenty of space. I had a dish recommended by the waitress called...pollo loco? Not sure. It was a pile of fajita chicken covered with white cheese. It came with rice and beans. All of it was fine. Not at all remarkable and I'm surprised she recommended it.
