My husband and I ate at Mama Cita's while on our trip over memorial weekend. The staff were so welcoming and the restaurant was clean and inviting. We chose to sit on the patio because it was beautiful out, and enjoyed drinks before getting our food. My blue ocean margarita was delightful!!! My daughter and I went here for lunch last week before we left town to go home. What a wonderful time we had! The atmosphere and decor are festive and comfortable. The chips and salsa were so flavorful-spices and texture were spot on! Our server, J., was friendly, entertaining, and pleasantly attentive. It's Monday night and we decided to go with the very highly recommended Mama Cita's. The chimichangas was the special for the day. The chimichanga was comparable to a gas station burrito...you know what I'm sayin? The Cita rice was cold and the beans tasted like they were fresh out of a can and microwaved. The chips were stale and the salsa was bland at best. Carlos was our waiter and didn't offer water to drink and didn't show any interest in earning his tip. The one and only bright spot was my wife's pina-colada! Not sure how this place has as many 5 stars as it has! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! read more

First we waited 10 minutes to even have a waiter come to us. The queso was cold and came out about the same time as our food. The waiter messed up my order and the food was lukewarm. I found my favorite Mexican restaurant in Lake of the Ozarks! We ordered takeout from Mama Cita's for dinner this week and it was outstanding. Loved the free housemade chips and salsa, chicken enchiladas, and beef chimichanga that we tried. The chimichanga was a bit soggy by the time we brought it back to our hotel to eat, but still had great flavor with plenty of ground beef inside. My kids loved the rice, refried beans, and sour cream that came on the side of each entree. The chicken in the enchiladas were SO flavorful and tender; I feel like shredded chicken can sometimes come out dry and flavorless, but not the chicken here! I'll definitely be back to try more from their menu! read more

Spur of the moment decided to go out with our lake friends for dinner. There were 13 of us so I wasn't sure how that would work on a Saturday night. The wait was 20 mins and they pit us in a room by ourselves which was perfect! The food was great and our waitress was attentive and provided great service. We came here on a Friday night and were seated right away. Brandie was our bartender and she was so much fun! They brought chips and salsa as soon as we sat. This was probably the worst salsa we have ever had. The people with us liked it, but I was really disappointed. For drinks, we had margaritas, mules, and beer - all very good! For appetizers, as a table, we ordered tableside guac, queso, and onion rings. I was slightly disappointed with the tableside guac because it was not made at the table - the menu gave options for spice level, but this wasn't an option either. The queso was delicious and the others enjoyed the onion rings. We had rice and beans (and made some nachos), 4 soft beef tacos, and the Molchejete for dinner. Came here after a long day on the water because we have heard good things! Got there with myself, 4 other friends and then my two children(both under the age of two) and got seated right away no problem no questions asked. Food was good, came out quick but not as big servings as most Mexican restaurants. We got our bill and saw a 20% "large party" fee, which we were not told about at any point of time being there. We asked about it and she said it is mandatory for every group 7 or larger(which we were exactly 7 people INCLUDING my TWO INFANTS!!! We asked why again since we had two infants(who didn't even get their own food since they can't eat much from the restaurant). Server just said it was policy and moved onto the next table. Very unfortunate, would like to be aware of money being spent especially when it's 20% of our bill(somewhat expensive place...) definitely won't be going again. read more

Came with a group of friends on a Tuesday night around 8pm. There was a bunch of people leaving as we walked in and only one other table occupied inside. Service was quick and the restaurant was pretty clean. The tacos and salsa were great. Most of my group wasn't a fan of the chips though - too thick. I was extremely disappointed with the jalapeño margarita I got. It tasted like jalapeños and their juice was shaken up and poured in a cup with little margarita mix. For $14 (that wasn't even the jumbo) I was expecting a tasty and well crafted cocktail and that's not what I got. We all got tacos and everyone enjoyed them. The street tacos were a hit. My friends and I were in Osage Beach over Veterans Day weekend and had dinner at Mamacita's based on its Google reviews. What a GREAT choice! From the moment we entered, we had a wonderful experience. We were warmly greeted, and everyone on staff was very friendly and hospitable. We were seated immediately and served chips and dip by a very nice gentleman, and then our waitress, Hailee, came over right away and took our order for drinks and appetizers (a serving of guacamole dip, please!). We had time to study the menu, and she was back quickly to take our food order. Hailee was on-the-spot all evening, stopping by to check if we needed anything and were enjoying our food. And, YES, we enjoyed our food! Everything was so yummy!! I had the chicken chimichanga (and a house margarita--fantastic!), and my friends had the veggie fajita and veggie burrito. Everything was SO delicious, and we finished it all--no leftovers! It was so nice to find a restaurant on a holiday weekend that was so welcoming and didn't have a long wait to be seated. The best mexican restaurant in Osage Beach! I got the steak street tacos twice in one weekend. They are full of flavor. The salsa and queso are very good. The large queso is huge, so prepare for that. Service is good too, pleasant servers both times here. Building is clean and in nice order. Music plays soft and still able to speak over it. Oh, the chips MELT in your mouth. So good. Go here, you won't regret it. My only regret is I ate the tacos before taking a picture for you. Here is a pic of our best attempt to finish the large queso... Also, the churros.... I've had churros in Mexico and these just as wonderful. Save space in your stomach for one of these. read more

This is the second time we have been to Mama Cita's! The food isn't bad, but the prices are a little high (compared to some of our other favorite local Mexican food restaurants in the area!)
