The staff is Great, but the process is terrible. When you check in at the counter in the morning to order your beverage and pastry, the pastry is prepared and then you wait until someone has time to fix your drink. Many times, this can be 10 minutes or more. Bagels are doughy. After double toasting the bagels, they are still doughy. Booth seats are bottomed out, and the bathrooms are filthy. Most staff are wonderful, however one of the staff hasn't washed their hair in probably a week. Food and beverage is in the details. Panera, you are dated and stale. Went to Panera tonight and the food was amazing as always. I felt that the service was great also, but the manager that was working there was being absolutely horrible to her employees. She was belittling them and made them flustered. It was sad to watch. I made sure to tell the girls they were all doing great and that I was sorry they were being treated that way. I hope the manager learns to be more of a leader and less of a bully. The girls making the food were all so kind and sweet and didn't deserve to be treated like that. I'll definitely come back because I love Panera, but I hope that manager gets an attitude check. She was awful. I've worked in management and have never treated my employees the way I saw her treat those girls tonight. The 5 stars are for the food and the girls working. If I based my review on one experience, I would've given less stars tonight. But fortunately for Osage Beach Panera, I'm not one of those people. Overall, this place is usually on point and fairly quick. I've always found it to be clean here and the staff is friendly. Tonight, with a near empty dining area and only one other person in line at 3:30 in the afternoon on a Sunday, the service was as slow as humanly possible. I counted at least 5 people working behind the counter so it wasn't a staffing issue. I ordered two family soups and four loafs of baguette bread. It took forever. This really isn't the norm for this place and I can only assume that maybe they're training new hires or something. I'll be back for sure. Good location of Panera it's pretty much half way between Osage Beach and Camdenton. I really wish this location had a drive thru. I never realized how valuable drive thrus are until I had a child. I typically love Panera restaurants but...I ordered the Spicy Thai Chicken salad which I always get. I also ordered kids meals. One of my children wanted the baguette with his sandwich. The cashier asked me if he wanted the yogurt and I said no he really likes the baguettes. They did not give me a pager. I saw my food sitting on the counter for a few minutes and went up and asked if the order was finished because it appeared to be. They said it was so I took it to my table. I noticed before I left the counter that they gave my son yogurt so I told them he had requested the baguette which they then threw on his plate. They also didn't give me a fork with my salad so I found a plastic one near the take out section. Once I mixed up my salad and took a few bites, I noticed it did not have the edamame, carrots, red peppers and wonton strips in it. See attached photo - it is not as colorful as usual. In the meantime, two other customers that were sitting near me complained that their orders were either not complete or not right. This was a Saturday evening and they were not busy. I was told by a friend that the Panera store in Osage Beach, Mo requires a mask for in-store dining. Having been a customer for years, happily stopped there for lunch today, initially pleased that every customer had a mask on. A couple of others who came in after we did, had no mask on and staff told them a mask was required and provided a mask to them, which they put on. Good so far. Then a young guy came bouncing in without a mask and was never confronted by the manager or staff. He ordered, got his food and sat down across the wall from us. Soon, two other customers entered, ordered and ate, never being asked to wear a mask. So what am i to expect? The large sign at the door clearly says a mask is required, yet three customers in a matter if 30 minutes were allowed to order without one. To make matters worse the guy i mentioned above, as he was leaving told four gals who were about to turn around having read the sign, that go on in...they will wait on you. Jeeez. read more

Went there yesterday to reward myself with a favorite dish after a long day - around 5:30PM. The girl at the register seemed like she had no clue what was going on or who to ask. For instance: I asked about getting a chicken salad sandwich on croissant to which she said "I don't think we have any more croissants??" while she looked around behind her, trying to find the bread... which was at the other end of the restaurant, opposite of where she was looking. I asked for a recommendation and she suggested tomato basil. I also asked if I could order a bread bowl "to go". and she said yes. So I ordered my soup along with my second order for the chick salad sandwich. She then said "what kind of sandwich?" so for the third time, I told her the sandwich I wanted. She retracted the bread suggestion and said I should get white. I said, "great - then I would like a chicken salad sandwich on white bread". I also repeated the soup order. She then asked about sides and I gave her my choices. At the end she repeated the order and I reiterated again that I wanted the soup in a bread bowl. To which she said "got it". When I got my order, I left and headed home, only to find a cup of soup (no bread bowl) and chicken salad ordered with "no bread". I was SO hangry and exhausted, I just ate it - but mama really needed her carbs today! Not only that, I feel jipped; I literally spent $14 on a scoop of chicken salad, four tomato and 2 lettuce slices paired with a cup of mediocre soup. It wouldn't be that big of a deal if I hadn't repeated my order NUMEROUS times and we had a detailed conversation about the dang bread for the sandwich!
